Pierce-Michael-Edwards`s birthstory

I was shceduled for inducement on Thursday morning but contractions started naturally at home which I was so happy about because I wanted to go as natural as possible. I got my first painful contraction at 3am. Didn`t really think a lot about it until I got another one 10 minutes later. I got up and decided to time them on contractionmaster.com. Great site by the way to any who haven`t given birth yet. They started coming steadily but still not real regular. some wher 5 minutes apart some were 3 minutes apart. i called my SIL who is a childbirth educator and she suggested that we may want to wait until they are more regular and strengthen which is what we wanted to do so I wouldn`t have to labor so much in a hospital setting. Well, about 5:45 I decided we needed to go to the hospital. As soon as I made that decision, the contractions became unbearable. It was like someone had turned on a switch. My husband was loading the car and they were coming every 60 seconds and I was already starting to feel the pushing urge. I said we have to go now and finally almost crawled to the car where I REALLY had the urge to push and couln`t control myself. Keep in mind we`re still sitting in the garage. So my husband floors it while I climb the ceiling of the car. Literally!! Pushing uncontrollably all the way down the interstate. Thank God there were no wrecks that morning or we would have been screwed. We ran a couple of red lights and got to the hospital at 6: 35am. They wheeled me back to L&D as I proceeded to scare the daylights out of every woman checking in with my bloodcurdling screams. Pierce Michael Edwards was born after 3 pushes and 7 minutes after we pulled in front of the hospital. Way too close!!!!!!!! Unfortunately, the birth was so quick I had no time to stretch and had 4th degree tears which it took the doc an hour to repair but thankfully Percocet is taking care of. But I don`t know if that region will ever be the same. After such a dramatic birth, I have such a beautiful baby boy who is healthy and doing wonderfully with the breastfeeding. I`ve never been so happy in my life!!!!
