Daisy`s birthstory

Contractions started at 3am on Sunday morning and were strong but irregular all day - then became much stronger, longer and regular so went to hospital at 3am Monday morning. Only 2cm so very disappointing! Came home and stayed there until Monday afternoon. Managed pain with my hypnobirthing techniques - felt very calm and actually managed to fall asleep between contractions - even when they were 3-4 mins apart.

But back pain became unbearable and so went to hospital at about 3.30pm.... 4 cm hurrah! Continued to manage with hypnosis but then over the course of next few hours complications meant that i finally ended up having to have an epidural, hormone drip, episiotomy and finally after 1 1/2hrs of pushing was prepped for a caesarian as Daisy`s heart rate kept dropping dramatically. At last minute however, the Dr decided to try forceps which ultimately was successful. It turns out that not only was she lying in a difficult position (hence the back pain) but also had the cord wrapped around her neck!. Not the calm, peaceful birth we were envisaging but it was all worth it as Daisy is absolutely beautiful!!
