Caien-Rhys-Powell`s birthstory

Started getting contractions at 8pm on wednesday..didn`t get really bad until 8pm Thursday night..and waters still hadn`t broken. Contractions got really painful at 11pm so we called an ambulance to get to Hospital. 1.30am by the time they checked me over..and I was 5cm dilated, and asked for gas and air. Got so high that I was laughing about the birthing ball being purple..and found it hilarious that they offered us a banana flavoured cake.. Kept going for an hour on just gas and air, had a bath to ease the pain but it got so intense that I asked for an Epidural. Could still feel contractions but not too painful..so me and my friend passed an hour or so talking and falling asleep. At about 5am, baby`s heartrate went down to 72 beats per minute, and 3 midwives and 2 doctors ran in..I was so scared! The doctor decided to break my waters to speed things up and the baby;s heartrate went back upto 140bmp so I could relax again =] at 6:30am, the midwife examined me and I was fully dilated, and she could see the baby`s head..at about 6:55am I got the urge to push, as the epidural had worn off a bit..and at 07:17am, my little baby came into the world! She told me to check the baby`s sex myself, and he`s a beautiful lil boy.. =] I couldn`t stop crying for about 10 minutes..It was the most amazing experience of my life. I`d do it again in a heartbeat <3
