Emily`s birthstory

I went in to hospital at 7.00am on Thursday 2ND October for a scheduled cesarean section because the baby was breech but when i got to the hospital the baby had actually turned round and was in the head down position. I was given the option to go home and wait for labour to start but after a long discussion with the midwives and consultants i decided that i would stay and go ahead with the planned caesarean because i felt that there was a reason why my baby kept changing position. I was induced at 10 days past my due date with my first pregnancy and after 39 hours of labour i ended up with an emergency caesarean section and as i was not allowed to be induced with this pregnancy and i would only get the chance to labour for 6 hours if i did labour naturally i decided that it was best for her to be born by caesarean. Everything went fine apart from they couldn`t get the epidural in so it was done with just a spinal injection but other that that everything went smoothly. The next day the consultant came to see me and said that it was very likely i would have had another emergency caesarean section because my baby was very high in my tummy and my pelvis is small so i am happy and confident that i made that safest and best choice. I felt completly in control this time and we`re all doing very well.
