Ruby-Kathleen`s birthstory

Well i had to be induced because I was approaching 2 weeks late. it started with a foley bulb placed in the cervix to stretch it out and help ripen it...(looks like a little balloon filled with water) An hour after this was placed my water broke on it`s own! I had already started on the pitocin about an hour before my water broke and the contractions did get stronger. They upped the pitocin after a few hours and things really started kicking in. My contractions got awful and I requested the epidural when I was at a 4. About an hour and a half after I got the epidural I had gone from a 4 to a 9!!! Fully effaced and baby was very low!!! YAY about 2 hours after that I pushed for an hour and out she came. It was awesome and great and I would do it all the same again. I had wanted a natural birth but changed my mind after those contractions had me balled up so tightly I had charlie horses all over and felt like I had pulled a rib!! My husband was great in supporting me and rubbing my back. He helped me with my bed pan and everything else and I am so happy to have him. I bled out a little and had to stay on the pitocin drip to shrink my uterus and help with the blood. After the delivery I got up to walk and felt very dizzy so I didn`t hold Ruby much for fear I might drop her. Once we got to the postpartum room I was feeling much better and stayed up the ENTIRE night holding my new baby girl!! She is awesome, we love her so much already. I am very sore down below, hemorrhoids and all!!! I`m taking motrin and percocet. I did get a 2nd degree tear and the stitches should fall out in a few more days.
