Name meaning: From the Late Latin name Dominicus meaning "of the Lord". This name was traditionally given to a child born on Sunday. Ironicly Dominick was born on a Sunday Afternoon.

BC. WOMENS. HOSPITAL.

I have to say thank you to my husband for being with me every step of the way, in both of our pregnancys. The day Steve found out he was going to be a daddy, he jumped up and his face lit up. I suprised him with a baby sleeper, and he began showing all his friends, he was so proud to be having a blessing with me. And i will always have that memory of how he took to being a daddy.After giving birth to our first born at Bc womens Hospital Steve couldnt help but cry, as soon as our son was out the first moment i remeber was him hugging me with tears strolling down his face. He was a father. When our son was one day old i was getting some sleep in my hospital recovery room and Steven took our new son for a walk around the second floor. He found a chapel and inside he talked to Dominick and wrote a letter in a large book for families. It was full of prayer, hopes, and sadness. Steve wrote about our experience and How he wished God would help me through the post partum stages, and watch over our son, Dominick. He talked about loving his new family and how he was proud of me and all i went threw to bring our son into the world to meet us. When we left the hospital he showed me the chapel and his page of writings. It made me feel warm, and loved. When Steven and i misscarried our second child, Hope; he wanted to go back to the chapel and write another letter to God. It was 3am and he never had the chance to do that. When i am able to give birth to our third child he will go back there and write another story for our children to read. I cant wait to see what he has to say. I hope one day im able to be there for him like he was for me. Thanks to everyone at BC womens who took such great care of me both times, and to The husband who held my hand.

DOMINICK’S. FIRST. BIRTHDAY.

Wild Animal Extravaganza 04.2608 !

Dominicks birthday is getting closer and Steve and i have choosen to do it at the local zoo, steve and i use to go here before our son was born on little dates. Exactly one year before Dominick was born steve and i were at the zoo and a baby bison was born, steve and i wrote on a post card from that day about what we did and about how this bison was born while we were there. Dominick and the baby bison are born on the same day, it will be so exciting to show him that this is what mommy and daddy were doing one year before his birth! It is now one month before Dominicks first birthday and his big birthday bash! I confirmed plans with the zoo lady and we had to come up with an itinerary. This is how the day will go.

Kids arrival: 12:30pm Tigger feeding: 1:00 Lunch at safari cafe: 2:00 Train ride: 2:40 Arts and crafts: 3:00 Mr. Bubbles the clow: 4:oo Cake: 5:00 Pinata: 5:30 Presents: 6:00

.Details.

Kids arival:The kids will be getting to the Zoo around 12:00 and will have some time to run around and play. Say hello to dominick and just get settled.

Tiger feeding: The tiger feeding is so fun to watch, the trainers hold raw meat to the outside of the cages or throw it over the fence, then the tiggers run for it or jump up to the fence and grab it. I think the kids will love this.

Lunch at the safari cafe: The lunch will be a panago pizza, the zoo has orderd it for us we just choose the kinds, we choose Two large cheese pizzas and two large cheese and peperoni pizzas.

Train ride: The train ride is for the birthday kids only, they will have a chance to see the animals up close and go behind the gates where some of them roam free.

Arts and crafts: the hostess will be doing a Penut butter pine cone with each of the kids. After they are done they will have the chance to feed it to one of the animals. I was told they will get back to me with the animal of choice, but it will most likley be the monkeys or baboons.

Mr. Bubbles the clown: Mr bubbles will be waiting for us after the feeding and will entertain the children for an hour, (hes too expensive for anything longer then that) He will do tricks, ride a unicycle, and do balloon animals. She said hes great for babies.

Cake:We have choosen to do the same cake as we had for our wedding i think its a sweet idea to have something there from the day steve and i became one. Dominicks cake will have a child like icing on it (color wise) the cake we have choosen is in the picture above. Mr bubbles will help serve the cake!

Pinata: The pinyata is going to be a getco. We had the choice between a butterfly, some animal i cant pronounce, Dragon, ect. Thought the Getco would be cute..

Presents: Dominick will open his presents last, and then hand out his goodies bags to his little friends. He is starting to take steps now so i hope he will be walking for this day and be able to give them out himself!

DOMINICK'S. BEDROOM.

Steve and i purchased This beautiful Sarah crib made by Graco for our son Dominicks bedroom. We wanted to make over his room because before he had all light color furniture (beech wood) and i wanted something to look more modern and mature, as well as flow with the rest of our house. It was silly to do his room in a color that is not in any of the other rooms it stood out and not in a good way, in other words it looked chopped up from the rest of our house. I think a year is a good time to redo his room, if we had done it any earlier then this it would have been a waste of my money and my time decorating it before he was born. When he was a couple weeks old i did change the bedding but that was about it. I wouldnt change his furniture or the painting on the walls at that time, like i said he was only a couple of weeks old and it wouldnt have made any sence, unless i had gotten bord of it already, in other words have not had done a long lasting good job!

We have redone his room from scratch and the one thing we kept was his area rug. His new colors are the same as the borders around the pictures above. These pictures are of his crib. It has a total of four stages. Great for long term use. This is not his bedroom and i will be taking pictures once the room is complete. Right now his only other additional peice of furniture is a book shelf to match, theres a picture of it above.

The bedding you see is the one i will be ordering off the net. Maybe in the next couple of weeks, it will be mommys gift to Dominick for his birthday. Steve will be buying Dominick a small Plasma for his room as his birthday gift to Dominick, this way he can watch his own shows while playing with his toys (during play time) I find that this bedding is alot more calmer and more modern then the Oxygen one i had picked out originaly from Toys R Us. Im so happy his room is under way! It looks beautiful.
