Xander Ashton Sex: boy Born: 17 March, 2010 Age: 1 years & 335 days Birthday in: 30 days Starsign: Pisces Development: See the 23 months page. Biggest achievement so far: - |
DUE DATE: 9TH March 2010
LABOUR: 10 hours without pain relief
WEIGHT: 7lb 8oz
LENGTH: 50cm
Well, as you know I was due with my second on the 9th March, I had to wait another 8 days till I was able to finally see my baby.
On Tuesday night (16th March) I started to have contractions able 10mins apart that weren’t that painful but enough to be annoying, it wasn’t until about 4am the following morning that I woke up to a tad painful contraction that I knew that I was in labour. I txt my midwife ( Hamish’s aunt) to tell her that I was having contractions that I felt like they were the start of labour. She funny enough she was at another birth up At the hospital when I txt her and she said she would be round home at 9am.
My father in law came and picked up Oliver and took him for the day which was great. Hamish got everything ready while I jumped in the shower. By 12pm my contractions were coming strong and fast yet I still managed to watch TV in the lounge and watch Hamish set up the birthing pool and fill it.
I hoped in the pool at 2.05pm as I felt the contractions were getting just a tad painful (I was also drinking a load of water with rescue remedy in it for my pain relief. it works wonders!!)
Sue then checked how far dilated I was and I was uneven as the baby’s head was coming down on a angle. But within 10mins it had corrected itself.
I was knelling over the side of the pool (so yip my bum was on show) and at 2.45pm after 23mins of pushing XANDER ASHTON arrived still in his bag of waters. He was perfect!! And another boy!!
Xander was 7lb 8oz and 50cms long. A tad smaller then Oliver though he was cooked by a day longer.
He is such a lucky baby to be born in his waters in water and on St Patricks Day!
Oliver came back at 6.30pm to arrive home with a new baby brother in which he gently patted Xander’s head and kissed and hugged him. My family is now complete!!
