James-Daniel`s birthstory

I was called in for an induction of labour on Tuesday July 15th at 8:30pm. We reached the hospital at 9:25pm and headed into the labour assessment room. The labour assessment team hooked me up to an external fetal monitor and I settled into a hospital gown. At 11:25pm the assessment attendant broke my water and by 11:35 I had a good contraction. Before midnight I was moved into one of the labour and delivery rooms. I had many strong contractions that got extremely close in duration and became quite lengthy. At 2:30am I had an extrememly strong contraction that wouldn`t let up. The contraction lasted TEN MINUTES. The contraction was so strong and lasted so long that my poor little one`s heart rate dropped to HALF of what it was (70 beats per minute). I was rushed into the OR and several physicians debated to prep for an emergency C-section. I was prepped for an epidural at 3:37 pm and a few minutes later my baby`s hear rate was returning to normal and was wheeled back into the birthing suite. I had one other scare along the way with my baby`s heart dropping but everything ended up calming down and returned to normal. At 9:30am I started pushing and at 10:36am little James was born!
