darrius mommy - Thursday, 9 July OMG you guys are not going to believe this!!!!! Dj is only 6 weeks old and he straight turned over by himself!!!!! Well almost all by himself he used the back of the couch and kicked himself over but it was sooo cute and he did it 3 times in a row!! After that I put him on our bed and he tried to do it again but all he could get over was his top part of his body!!!! he looked like a twisted pretzel!!! LOL my lil boy is sooo advanced!!!!! I love watching him learn everyday!!
Diegirl - Thursday, 9 July You are lucky. I don\'t have my mom living close enough to watch the kids. I pay for part time daycare when I work. I think moms are the next best thing!
littledovey - Thursday, 9 July At this point in time I feel like you will be having yours before I have mine. I have no signs of labour as of yet. Fingers are crossed that something happens soon because I am getting sore and tired.
Diegirl - Thursday, 9 July Being that I am Canadian I am obviously staying home for the year as I did with my last son. We don\'t have private health care coverage... its all public so we get equal healthcare. How soon we get in for tests is determined by how emergent the case is. I work in healthcare and my patients get in for tests, u/s, etc in relatively short amounts of time. When I had my last son I could get in for same day last minute u/s when it was needed. Our system does have flaws. For instance its is very short staffed her in Alberta and ER wait times can be atrocious, but once again it depends how sick you are. If you are in obvious distress you are seen immediately. If you are there for a cold.... you\'re going to wait. We can pay privately for extra insurance or we have jobs that have benefits that have extra coverage. My hubby\'s job/benefits pays for 80% of our prescriptions. My work pays a 100%... so its varied depending on who your benefits are through. We can combine both our dental coverage for 100% off up to a certain amount. Glasses... I get $600 every two years for new glasses. I don\'t really have any complaints except about wait times... and considering the shortages... they could be worse.
indigocream - Thursday, 9 July I am going to be a stay at home mom.... But I am surprised at how I feel... Today I started closing down my office that I have had since 1997 and I have mixed emotions... Who will I talk too and what I can do on the daily... I have worked since I was 15 so its scary... But I thank God for the new experience
neicie04 - Thursday, 9 July For daycare... i work \"as needed\" at a physical therapy hospital. So I am able to make my own schedule. My husband works nights but in a shift kind of way... Daycare is expensive. So I am just going to work on his days off. And hopefully I\'ll have 1 day a week off with him for family time. But I figured it\'s better for me to lose hours than to pay so much for daycare.
firstlittleangel - Thursday, 9 July I wish I could stay home!! my mom will be watching my little one when I am at work, it's the next best thing to me being home.
littledovey - Thursday, 9 July Our healthcare in Canada is public, not private, so it works a little bit differently. There are times when I imagine that waits would be longer for certain things, but it is also equal for everyonw so people don;t have to worry about having insurance coverage.
littledovey - Thursday, 9 July I live in Canada so we get 1 year of maternity/parental leave. I'm home for that year and then my baby will go to daycare.
natnat - Thursday, 9 July I know how you feel about going up and down stairs for the laundry! im huffing and puffing walking down to the basement to get the laundry. And, our only bathroom is upstairs, so i dread going to the bathroom all the time.
Also, I am going back to work 6-8 weeks after hudson is born. He is going to a in home daycare that only takes 3 babies at a time, and the lady is a family friend of my fiances. Hudson will stay there till around 15-18 months, then i want him in a preschool setting with other children and a more structured atmoshpere. I worked in a daycare for many years, so i think the opportunity to learn and grow is great in a daycare atmosphere. But, dont get me wrong, i wish i could stay home with him and not go back to work!
experiencedmom - Thursday, 9 July I'LL BE STAYING HOME FOR ABOUT 3-4 MONTHS BECAUSE DAYCARE IS A ARM AND ALEG. i'M NOT SURE WHAT i AM GONNA DO AFTER THAT.
gixxerbabe08 - Thursday, 9 July lol i know how that feels.... i get so out of breath bringing it up and down its a terrible feeling! but i love doing laundry so i dont mind too much
RainbowRach - Thursday, 9 July Hi hun, I know what you mean, I am really struggling to find motivation for anything!!
So your question is a little complicated for me!! lol I am taking 4 months off of work, then I intend to return. At the moment I work from home so I am hoping to combine work and looking after Emily (hmmmmm) BUT my company is being bought out at the moment and I hear that the new company dont like home workers....soooooo....if I cant work from home, my baby will have to go into daycare as I have no choice but to work.
How about you?
prettybird - Thursday, 9 July My new lil guy will join my 4 year old at daycare when he is about 8-9 weeks old. My Aunt works there and will be taking care of him. So that fact makes me feel better about him going... at least for now.
AllyCat62683 - Thursday, 9 July I just experienced some really intense braxton hicks. I was starting to get nervous thinking I was going into labor and trying to figure out what I was going to do with Isaiah since I had just dropped him off at daycare LOL They were hurting all up into my back and everything and lasting about a minute each and a few minutes apart. They have stopped now and it\'s been about 20 minutes since I have had one, but that was a pretty crazy feeling.
mizmartinez - Wednesday, 8 July I just want to thank you all for your support on my baby shower blogs and your comments. thank you all so much
