I\'ve wrote a new blog, somehow I messed up the first time. I also added some new pictures of Victor in the Photo area.
Sorry if the blog is too long! Take care sweet mamas and healthy babies.
tifftiff - Wednesday, 8 July Mommies, I have some questions to ask please.
1. Does any of your babies have chapped lips?
My Victor is formula-feed and every few days or so, his upper lips would be chapped and I\'m wondering if it\'s safe to put chapstick on him or something. I didn\'t try to pull the chapped skin out though.
2. Have your baby have dry scalp, flaky skin on their head yet? What did you do their head to get rid of it?
In my culture, it\'s called \"bull poop\", sorry, it\'s just the direction translation from Vietnamese to English My pediatrician just said put baby oil on it and didn\'t go into further details. I\'ve shampooed Victor but it didn\'t seem to go away.
Oh yeah, quick update. I\'ve changed formula on Victor for 2 weeks now. After his 2-month vaccinations, he was throwing up at every feeding and was only taking in 1 or 2 oz and was tired a lot. Now he\'s drinking Similac Insomil. I have to give him the ready-to-feed ones because the powder is so thick to dissolve. No matter how long I shake the bottle, it was still lumpy and it caused Victor to throw up too. So far he haven\'t throw up yet, yay! It cost a lot of money compare to the powder one though....
I\'ve took some pictures of him and I couldn\'t believe my eyes. He looks totally different from a month before. Those pix that I\'ve put up in the Photos section, now, he\'s no where looking like that. Now I can barely see his eyelids when he\'s smiling! I\'m happy that he\'s growing getting heavier.
How are you and your babies are doing?
ububeans - Friday, 3 July Thanks mama! Im excited yeah I just want her to come healthy so if it comes to csection oh well! Ill keep you updated!
I was trying to write a blog with all of Victor\'s pictures inside but somehow it didn\'t show up??? I guess I don\'t know how to put pictures in blogs then, so I have to upload pictures in the \"photo\" section.
Quick update, Victor throw up (violently) every now and then, he\'s eating less but pooping more, is that bad??? He\'s pooping like every 3-5 hours now. I\'ll call the doctor if he continues like that tonight. So far he had poop like 4 times since last night until now already. Thank you so much for all of the mommies that gave me advices and reassurance. I\'m a pretty clumsy mom. I get worry at every little things.
tifftiff - Sunday, 28 June Hello mommies and babies!
How is everyone doing? I hope your babies are growing.
Victor turned 2 months yesterday and I threw a little celebration for him. Well, I supposed to have the 1-month birthday party for him, but I thought he was too small by then.
Some updates on his health conditions. He weighs 12 lbs 5 oz as of Friday, woohu! He also developed a fever after getting his 2-month vaccinations, it was so sad to see him crying and struggling to sleep. He didn\'t drink much milk since Friday. He was drinking 5 oz, but now, it\'s only like 2 or 3 oz now. I guess I have to wait for his body to get back to normal from the fever so I can get him back to 5 oz
I am so pissed off at my pediatrician and this time I\'m switching to another doctor for sure. Victor had been having some congestion in his nose for a month now and she keep saying it\'s normal. Everything is \"normal\" to her. He has gurgling/snoring sound in his nose when he\'s awake, when he\'s drinking milk, when he\'s sleeping. He had that sound at the dr office and she kept saying it was normal. I\'ve tried to clean his nose by using a syringe to pulled out the mucous, but he\'s still making that noise. I\'ve asked her to put the saline drops in his nose and it didn\'t get any better.
Is anyone experience this with their baby about the noise when they are breathing?
I really, really want to switch from Similac Advance to Similac Insomil (the ones with soy) for Victor. I\'ve asked the dr and she didn\'t say anything. She said throwing up and spitting up is normal, so I don\'t know what to do.
Ok, I\'m finally starting to feel unattractive now because my belly is still so huge. So far, I\'ve been too exhausted to do anything to it yet. I have stretch marks all over my big belly and my breasts too. I\'ve heard of Belly Bandit but don\'t know where to buy it, any ladies using that? You just order directly from the website, right?
I\'ll update pictures of Victor later as soon as I figure out a way to put water marks on it. He doesn\'t look so much like his daddy any more, instead, he\'s looking more like his grandma (my mil).
Take care ladies, hope you all good health and your babies are growing healthy!
ububeans - Wednesday, 24 June
He is so precious I cant wait! Perfect! Look at his little feet!
ububeans - Wednesday, 24 June I posted it on the belly board 37 weeks yeah not much longer! Im gonna look at your lo now! Yay
tifftiff - Saturday, 13 June Mommies, I have some questions to ask
I\'ve switch from Enfamil lipil to Similac advanced for Victor and so far I\'ve notice some differences.
With Enfamil, the poop was yellow and solid, but, Victor was throwing up and spitting up more often. Plus, his stomach was big the whole time, it was scary to see.
With Similac, the poop was dark green and liquidy like paint, plus it smelled like rotten eggs. Sorry, I hope I\'m not talking all nasty here
It\'s so hard changing diaper whenever he poops because it\'s so liquidy. I\'ve called the doctor already and she said it\'s not diarrhea. Is any similac baby getting poop like mine?
Another question concerning warming up the milk. We\'ve bought the milk in the 8 oz bottles, and so far, Victor can only drink 4 ounces every 2.5 hours. So I pour out 4 oz and put in the dr. brown\'s bottle and heat it up in the bottle warmer for a few mins until it\'s warm.
The other half of the milk, I put it in the zip lock bag and put in the fridge. When the next feeding time come, I take that, pour into another bottle and heat up again for Victor to drink.
I think here is the problem, my mom said don\'t heat up the milk too hot, it will kill the vitamins, but if it\'s just lukewarm, it will cause stomachache. Victor just had one last night and it was devastating to see him cry.
How do ladies handle the milk and put in the fridge and warming up issue?
I have thought of trying powder formula so I can avoid putting stuff in the fridge, but I am super clumsy, I\'m scared I might mix up the milk wrong.
Oh yeah, something fun to share with all mommies. I pumped my breasts and on the right side, I got like 5 drops, while the left breast, I got 1-1.5 oz. My left breast is not bigger than my right.
Since I\'m left handed and more comfortable holding Victor on my left hand so it cause my breasts to be uneven like that. Not very fun.
Is anyone or their spouse being affected by the economy? Thanks goodness I still have my job for the next school year. But for my husband, starting in July, he can only work 32 hours. That mean he will be home on Fridays.
I will catch up with you ladies later, I hope you all are healthy and your babies are growing!
tifftiff - Friday, 12 June I\'ve added new pix of Victor under the photos section. More update on him later, he\'s hungry all the time!
