*Mom2Tori* - Friday, 27 Jul Hi ya! Congrats on your baby!!!! I have a question for you - since you've been through this. What do contractions feel like? I think I'm confusing BH with contractions. One of my friends said that it feels like cramping on your period. Thanks so much! Congrats again!!!
bishkekmom - Thursday, 26 Jul I had mastitis with my first...I had a fever and chills and my right breast (where the infection was) was red and swollen and wasn't producing as much milk. If you do have mastitis, it may hurt to feed the baby but don't quit using that breast... With my son I had to pump and after the infection, despite pumping, my milk supply dropped by half and never went back up.

FallenFairy - Tuesday, 24 Jul Interesting, my nurse didn't say that it happens to everyone, she told my mom and Mitchel that it wasn't unusual and not to worry. I started shaking early on though, when the contractions had gotten really bad, it wasn't towards the end, and it wasn't just my legs, it was my whole body. I stopped shaking so badly once she gave me a shot of whatever it was, and once I got the epidural I only had small shivers every now and then. Once it was time to push though I was fine. No shaking or anything. Although I threw up when I did the first practice push, I felt fine after that. I loved not being able to feel anything below my waist, lol. It was so nice to see the contractions on the moniter but not be able to feel them anymore, and when I was pushing I kept remembering seeing stuff like 'a baby story' on tlc where the lady is pretty much screaming or moaning in pain or crying saying 'I can't do this' while trying to push baby out, and hearing stories, and having people tell me how difficult/painful it is, and just being so thankful that I couldn't feel anything. And when the doctor was stitching me up, that's when I became really REALLY thankful that I couldn't feel anything below the waist. I could see the curved needle thing and see her pulling that thread and man I just kept thinking wow that would probably really be hurting me right about now if it wasn't for the epidural. I still can't believe you went through all that pretty much unmedicated though. You're a much braver lady than I am. But really no matter how we get there, it's so worth it in the end. I can't even believe how much I love my baby boy, he is so perfect and beautiful... I have facebook too but I've only been on it twice since my friend made it for me, (which was months ago) lol.
Hollie - Tuesday, 24 Jul Good to hear! Is she being good so far or does she cry alot?

alysha - Saturday, 21 Jul i love being a mom hes absolutley wonderful i could never ask for anything better! he gets up about 3 times at nite and usual stays up for an hour-hour an a half, hes really good so far he barley ever cries i love him soooo much! so how are things with you? hows your lil one? its weird its all over eh?
FallenFairy - Saturday, 21 Jul Wow, our early labors do sound the same. You're a very brave lady for going through all that with nothing but a little demerol. Whatever they gave me before I could get the epidural wasn't demerol, it was something with a p, but it felt exactly the same as what you described except it only lasted about a half an hour, not 4 hours. I didn't ask for it though, I was shivering so badly and so out of it and in so much pain that the nurse pretty much told me she was going to give me a shot of something through the iv to help, asked if that was alright, and I nodded. I wasn't really capable of coherent speech at that point. I was soooooooo happy once the epidural kicked in. I had been in so much pain before that I couldn't even begin to imagine letting that pain get worse, which I knew it would but couldn't imagine how. With the epidural I didn't even feel like I was in labor. Couldn't feel the contractions, couldn't feel anything when I was pushing, didn't feel the stitches, nothing, and he was born perfect and healthy, completely alert, no trouble latching on at all. He's such a big guy I can't believe he fit inside my stomach! 8lbs 3ozs, definitely not on the small side.
anyway congratulations on your baby girl! I don't know how you did it, and am very impressed that you did :D
I have myspace too, www.myspace.com/creativechaos06
