Laura Ward - Sunday, 7 December Message to all: This message is not intended for any one person, but a general statement to all members of the site. After hearing what you all think in regards to posting photos on the forums, we have modified the rules and ask that everyone familiarize yourself so that the site continues to remain friendly for everyone, including new members. In an effort to be respectful of all members of the site, we ask that members do not post more than ONE photo or video per person in the weekly, monthly and information forums. Your ONE picture should be small in size as well. Any large photos will be deleted. You are welcome to post as many pictures as you would like in the photo books, which were created for the purpose of sharing and viewing photos. You may also post as many blogs as you would like with photos in them. We understand that many members enjoy posting and viewing pictures on the forums, but this is not where they belong. We must keep the pictures on the boards to a minimum so that the written comments can continued to be written and read. Otherwise, the numerous amounts of large pictures squash the messages and they become missed. We ask that this modification be respected, therefore any member that continues to post numerous pictures a day will be deleted from the site. Thank you all for helping us keep the site friendly and welcoming for all members.
Dirk - Friday, 5 December Message to all: In the last 2 years you all posted 1.1 million photos to the site, and that needs a little maintenance. We are currently renaming all photos from the personal photobooks in order to speed up the site. Some, or all your photos may not show while we are working on the photobooks. You don't have to do anything. We hope to have all photos sorted in about 24 hours from now. You can upload new photos to your photobook while the computer is working on your other photos. Thanks for reading.
lin - Friday, 21 November hmm, odd. I wonder if this is some sort of boot they just use in england! Her son has to be specially fitted for them and everything. Dont you hate hearing all the horror about, your child MUST wear the bar or they WILL RELAPSE!!! I hate it!!!! I know that and im sorry but does your child have a club foot? DId you have to use the bar? Easier to write that to live it!
lin - Friday, 21 November ...oh and his feet look great!!
lin - Friday, 21 November No kidding!! Well I can provide some comfort in telling you that your doing alot better than i did/am. He was in his boots probably 30% of the time in the first three months, and then after wards perhaps 15% even when it was just night times, and now...he never wears them.
lin - Friday, 21 November yeah i have never heard of them before she talked about them. She lives in England and her doctor recommended them to her. Her son was in boots and bar for awhile but kept sliding out of them and then they realized when he was about 8 months old that his foot wasnt completly corrected so did a different small surgery and put (similar to tenotomy but not quite the same) and put him in casts again. Once he is out of the casts she was worried about getting him back into the boots and bar, because he is just about walking and would never tolerate them all day long! So he is ordering her these boots that he says do the same thing if worn how they should be. Once he gets into them I will let you know what she thinks! I would love them!!! Just boots, no bar!!
lin - Friday, 21 November Oh your very welcome. Its nice to have other mom's to talk to about some of the stuggles. It seems like such an easy fix and such a minor issue with a baby to have a club foot, but no one understands how emotionally draining it can be until they have lived it!
So whats the difference between the mitchell bar and the one you have? I have no idea which one I have. But really in my opinion a bar is a bar, its restricting babys movements so really whats the difference, unless of course its lighter, that might be nice! Another lady i met on here...her son has been put in the pedro boots. I had not heard of this before and she explained that they were army looking combat boots without a bar!! They were molded to the babies foot and the insoles helped point the toes in the right direction. They are hard and stiff, thus helping the foot maintain correction. I think these would be way better than a bar in between the shoes! She has not got them yet, he gets them in a few weeks i think, so I will have to remember to ask her how they are working! I would love to have just boots to put on, and no bar in between!!
lin - Thursday, 20 November Wouldnt it be nice!! I cant wait for this next baby to see what its like to cuddle without a cast and not have the constant worry of the shoes.
Hope your feeling better soon, its such a constant worry. My blood pressure went up at the end of my pregnancy and took about two months to go down after baby was born. I think it was because of the stress of the casts and constant appointments and talk of boots and bar and ahhh!!! So much for just enjoying those first special months!
