About Me and Baby Ben

I'm Becca and I'm 22 years old. I'm currently training to be a Children's Nurse and the baby arrived just as I should have started my 3rd and final year! I have been with my boyfriend since I was 15, we have been together for 6 years. We had always planned on getting married and starting a family once we had saved our pennies and managed to move out, so the baby bit has come a tad earlier than expected! Although we were very shocked when we found out about the baby (who we had named Fig since week 6!), we both looked forward to meeting our new arrival. We decided not to find out the sex during my pregnancy and I am so glad that we left the surprise until the birth.

I brought our son Benjamin William into the world on the 1st March 2009 at 3.55pm, exactly 1 week earlier than expected!

He weighed in at 7lb 8oz and measured 21 inches.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Even though I'm training in Paediatrics, I seem to have lost all common sense when it comes to babies!!!

Awww, I didn't know that you didn't celebrate Thanksgiving there. I seen your 27 week pic, very cute!! I am sooo excited about Christmas, I can't wait!! Do you know if someones going to throw you a baby shower? My mom and my good friend Dana are going to throw me one in either January or early February, I can't wait for that either, really exciting!! I'm glad tp hear that you and baby fig are doing well, Leiland and I are doing well also. He's moving around like crazy too, my husband felt my stomach this morning when I woke up and he couldn't believe how much he was moving around in there! My husband said that, that was the most that he's ever felt Leiland move. When do you go to your next appointment?

im gud huni, im back up to 9 and a half stone so thats good.had bump measured and baby pefect size, sis had hers dun and hers is measurin at 29 weeks although she is only 23 weeks preg lol so she has to diet lol.evrythin ok wit u?? we dont hav long to go now lol. xxxxxxx

I would be sooo happy if I was only weighed twice, I get weighed every appt that I go to. So my next weigh in will be on christmas eve. I gained 45 pounds with my son which was my first pregnancy!! so 13 pounds isn't really that big of a deal to me. How are you and baby fig doing today and how was your thanksgiving?

LOL Thank you There's actually a family joke going around my husband's side. It's called the Eldridge nose, and it's long lol so it's the first thing us prego females look for on ultrasound. lol not the gender, but the nose. lol so it's good to hear his nose looks perfect! HA HA!

Hey,

i don't know why i think its a boy but i do so i will be surprised if its not!

As for me, my situation with work and that is confusing. I'm in my last year at uni, and i had to leave my full time job as an activity co-ordinater at an old folks home in sept cause the dementia residents could be violent and it was too hot for me to work there. I picked up a babysitting job which is great 3-6 m-f cash every friday!! So i have exams in january and the mom wants me to stop working then incase the baby comes early. Then second semester starts february...so i;m going to try and get ahead and do some essays cause i'm scared and worried.....how the hell am i going to do uni with a new baby!!!

And as we are moving the canada in the summer (back home for me!!!!) i really wont be working at all. Which is honestly what i want. I know there are some people who don't get the option and have to work, but i'm glad that i dont really have a choice. I moved to scotland to get my degree, and i'm not leaving without it. So when we get to Canada we will stay at my parents for a bit and i can work part-time at their office from home to bring in some money.

So fingers crossed it all works out!

Right now i have 2 papers left to write and all i can think about is flying home for xmas in 2 wks!! Kevan is staying here as the flights are too expensive but i get to go home and see my mom!!!

So are you working as well as school??

Any names for the baby yet?? we are really struggling!

Hey just noticed you are not finding out the sex either!! Everyone keeps asking me why i don't want to know, i agree with you that there arent too any surprises that you have to wait for in life!!

So do you have any idea or feeling of what 'fig' is??

I know i have always wanted a boy first, but i will be happy with either or i just can't wait to be a mommy, but i'm convinced its a boy, so is everyone else! Who knows!

Just to give you something to think about....i have told kevan and i'm writing in my birth plan that i don't want anyone in the room to announce its a boy or a girl, i want kevan to say we have a daughter or we have a son at the end of it. Something that even though there are people there, its still something that we can share together and lets him be a part of it as well. Just a thought in case you liked the idea!

Baby Leiland and I are doing great! I've gained 13 pounds so far!! Leiland has been laying across my lower stomach and sometimes it hurts like crazy!! You could actually feel him there because my stomach becomes rock hard, this is the only baby that I've ever experienced this constant activity (laying across my lower stomach) with. Hope that you and baby fig are doing well today!

I just got home from my 26 week apt. =]
The babys heart sounded perfect the lady said..
She was all the way up in my ribs! Silly little girl..
I've gained 4 pounds since my last apt! oh god!
I'm now 122.. So i've gained.. oh gosh, 24 pounds!

I'm quite good thanks! What about you?? I don't like to say it as I feel a bit guilty but I can't wait to get this baby out- pregnancy isn't half as enjoyable as I imagined!! In the last week I have begun to feel so sore and uncomfortable. Can't believe I've only got 13 weeks left�ahhh. Crazy. I am though super excited and can't wait to meet her. How are you feeling? Our new house is great, loads of space. I keep walking in the empty baby's room looking around!! For the 1st time today I'm struggling to breath and have pain in my ribs- not nice :( I bought a couple of cute baby grows last week and keep looking at them in amazement, still in shock that my baby will be wearing them soon. Lol! I'm so looking forward to finishing work at the end of January- I'm literally counting the days!! Christmas will be lovely too, just hope I can eat more than I can at the moment without getting indegestion. Have you got any aches or pains yet? Did you have any sense of the baby's sex yet? Having said that you got a 50:50 chance of being right. Hehe. Well hope your well. Take care. x
