readyfor3 - Friday, 30 May Have you tried homeopathic teething powder or tablets? I use Ashton and Parsons Infant's Powder (it's chamomile). It works wonders. My baby loves it and he calms right down. It's a miracle.I live in the UK though not sure if you can get it in the States but I heard that Hyland's Homeopathic Teething tablets are great. (they are chamomile too)
sunshinemaria - Friday, 30 May Bri, How did you know that your son was lactose intolerant? My baby is very gassy. He doesn't spit up much and his gas often doesn't bother him. However, he constantly passes gas. Thanks for your help!
nancy26 - Thursday, 29 May hey hon :) just wanted to thank you for your messages in BF :) had a good laugh! definitely counting the days... but also very nervous...! Can't wait to meet the lil man... that said, this waiting 3 weeks thing is going to kill me... I can't drive (short legs and big belly = don't fit!), so am housebound, since I can't walk very far... I think the cabin fever will kill me first LOL. at least once he's here, I can walk the neighbourhood flat :) lol
littlecavalier - Thursday, 29 May Way to stick your foot in your mouth :-). Some people are very sensitive about breastfeeding/ not breastfeeding etc. It's such a touchy subject I guess because some people do chose their freedom over their babies best interests and then want to make a million different excuses for it and call it something else and then get mad when someone calls them on it. I had a friend that said it was just too time consuming and that I shoudn't let anyone tell me that breastmilk is better (this is when I was still pregnant) because formula is just fine. It just made me sad that she was so clueless and that her little baby wasn't going to get the best nutrition possible. I feel like we are the voice of those little babies :-) and I sense that you feel the same way. I just don't understand how any Mother can be selfish with their time and energy as far as a newborn is concerned. I think it also upsets us when Mom's who have it easy take it for granted and quit doing it when we fought so hard to get it to work for us and to get it right. I love that you're as passionate as I am, so anytime you want to complain about your friend please message me! Hope you are having a great week! Oh and then the WIC comment and backlash on top of it, you really are having a bad day
cj - Thursday, 29 May By the way - great name for the baby!! I love it - he is too cute! Sounds like you have a good baby, too. I'm scared to have another because she's just a dream - lol
cj - Thursday, 29 May hey Bri - I responded to your response - lol. In a nutshell - no caffeine, it's liquid. I put the ingredients up for you to see. Take care
brandymomof2 - Thursday, 29 May so is peeling a symptom of thrush? im a newbie to breastfeeding and haave only a small idea of what thrush is
ily - Wednesday, 28 May Thanks for your reply. I just pray I can continue once I return to work. I hope I can pump enough for her to stay on breastmilk for at least 6 months. I just know I will miss actually breastfeeding. That is why I was hoping she would go more time in between feedings so I didn't miss out on that many. I guess that sounds a bit selfish but I will miss her and especially breastfeeding her. Guess we will see how it goes. I am like you, I need my 8 hours of sleep... maybe sometime soon. Take care and thanks again!
karina - Wednesday, 28 May hi! i read ur comment about the weight... is it true? do u really hold on to the last 5 to 10 pounds? because i lost 23 pounds in the first 2 weeks but i have 7 more to go, i am not eating anything with dairy 'cause they upset her (that includes chocolate) and i haven't be able to lose any more...
ily - Wednesday, 28 May How often do babies breastfeed? My baby is 11 weeks and she eats about every 2 hours. Does this sound right? Do they go longer in between feedings as they grow older? I really appreciate your input. Thanks!
chanel - Wednesday, 28 May yeah the older she gets the more distracted she gets like anything or anybody can make her turn real fast but she gets mad when i put it away ....then i like to sleep without a top on somoetimes and she will just go for it even if i sleep w/o a bra but a top she will pull it right out plus i get aggitated real fast when it's really hot out and now with her turning one in a few weeks i'm a just take her off most people don't last this long at all so i'm really proud of myself

luckybaby - Tuesday, 27 May Hi bri, thanks for sharing your knowledge and for responding. I have so many questions about babies and being a new mom,its pretty overwhelming. But im going to try my best to be a good mom. Goodluck to you and thanks again. xo milz
military~mommy - Sunday, 25 May Please please please don't take this the wrong way, you are great with advice in the breast feeding forum, and I love you for that, but here is one of my little bitty pet peeves... I'm sorry, I have to speak up, you posted in the military family forum about how proud you were of military wives and their husbands, well, I know a couple of us women in that forum are acrive duty ourselves, and it gets a little annoying when everyone assumes your husband is the one serving his country, when it is us who are serving our country... So please don't take this the wrong way, maybe I am just feeling extra touchy today, sorry, but even at the military hospital I am always asked "whats your husbands social?" And then they look shocked when I say "MY social is..." So like I said, one of my pet peeves...
littletonmommy - Friday, 23 May I hope I get a good result too. Have a good weekend!
littletonmommy - Friday, 23 May How much of an increase did u experience? Like from 2.0oz to 2.5oz or 2.0oz to 4.0 oz?

So hit 15 pretty moms on your friends list to let them know they are pretty! Before I was a Mom I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations. Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on. I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts. I slept all night. Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. Or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep. Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom. Before I was a Mom - I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy. Before I was a Mom - I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay. mommyofnaters - Tuesday, 20 May Hi, I saw your comment about the rice cereal and I though I would share what I just learned. My daughter just had to 6 month visit. She too hates the rice cereal and her doc said it is more about texture then the taste for babies. He told us to try oatmeal or malt o meal and see if she takes to those. Also, not to give up of the cereal she will more then likely take to it later. Hope this helps!
