12.21.09-So I found a female doctor...the only problem she is in practice by herself. In Atlanta, I ran across a doctor like this and she has a specific doctor that backs her up in the event she isnt available. So I asked this one what would happen if she isnt availabe and she said "Well if there is something like a family emergency I will try to let you know far enough in advance so you can 'figure something out'." So...on went my search. I hate switching doctors in the middle of the pregnancy, but honestly I didnt really feel comfortable with her from the beginning. So I went on mamapedia and got some recommendations and found an all women's practice in my area. I sent them my records last week, so they have to review them and then decide if they will accept me. Hopefully they will! I have started my climb up the scale :( I started off this pregnancy at 134 and lost some weight down to 126, but now I am at 132 ( gained it all in the past 4 wks). Last pregnancy I gained 48 lbs, but thank God for breastfeeding b/c i lost it all so fast! I started feeling the little one move about 2 weeks ago.
10.8.09-Ok so I had my 1st real appt w/ a doctor. The U/S says that I am only 7 weeks 5 days...so I have a new due date of May 22, 2010. Everything went ok. I have seen this doctor for my 6 wk checkup after my daughter was born. The heartbeat was 150-gut instinct tells me its a boy. Not because of the heartbeat, just gut instinct. We will see. I kind of wish it was a girl since we have all girl clothes and accessories already! ;) But we will be happy just as long as they are healthy.
9.29.09-Well I had my first appt...if you wanna call it that. All they did was take blood. I thought I was going to meet the Dr and have an U/S. The medical assistant said oh its too early to date the baby, we have to be able to measure the crown to rump length...Hello, I just had a baby in May so I know the routine! So I made an appt w/ another doctor for next Thursday. I am finally feeling some tiny bit of nausea in the mornings and late at night if I haven't eaten anything. I have lost 2 lbs so far. Oh and I am still breastfeeding my 5.5 mnth old. I just introduced rice cereal to her once a day and I occassionally give her bananas. We will see how this goes. Apparently at 4-5 mnths my milk should change to colostrum :( I am so sad, I really dont want to give up breastfeeding her, but whatever is best for her. I am just trying to prolong the formula as much as possible. I am not really producing enough milk to be able to pump much to save for later either. I am trying to keep track of her weight and make sure she stays gaining weight to ensure she is getting enough milk until it does dry up...hence the developmental chart on my profile. (at least if I see it on here I can remember to complete it every other week)
