IT'S A GIRL !!!

I am an expecting wife who was just married on September 08, 2007. Dominic and I are having a Honeymoon baby and are sooo excited!

December 7, 2007 (14 weeks) - So far I have only been to the doctor twice. The first time was at 8 weeks, only to meet with a nurse, my husband and I went over our family history with her. The second time was at 12 weeks when we finally got to meet the doctor. At this time I had my first exam and we got to hear the heart beat! It was sooo exciting and real!!! We go back again on Dec. 19th for a check up...I am excited but always nervous.

December 12, 2007 - The heart doppler I rented from bellybeats.com is arriving by FedEx today! I am so excited to hear the heart beat again!

December 19, 2007 - We had our December appointment today. Everything is going great! I was weighed and gained 5 lbs this month! The doctor went over my blood test results and everything came back fine. She checked the babies heartbeat and it was in the 140's. She said the baby was galloping in there! My next appointment is set for January 14 (the day before my birthday) and it will be our first ultrasound. I am so excited, that's when we will find out the sex of the baby. What a GREAT birthday present!!!

January 09, 2008 - I received great news today! My AFP blood test results came back NORMAL. I really wasn't worried, but it's a relief to know! Five more days till I find out the gender of my little one!

January 14, 2008 - I had my first ultra-sound this morning. Everything looks GREAT and we are having a GIRL!!! I am soooo excited! Her heart rate was 142 and I gained 4 more pounds since the last appt. I am going shopping for her today!!!

February 13, 2008 - I am 23 weeks and 5 days. I had a routine appt. today. I gained 9 pounds since my last appt! Oh my GOSH!!! Everything looks great! Kayla's heart rate was in the 140's and they doc said she sounds perfect. I have to go to get more blood work done in the next couple of weeks for the Glucose and CBC tests. The nurse said I will have to drink some kind of liquid that they will give me before hand. Sounds gross! My next appt is March 12th!

March 06, 2008 - Yesterday I went to have the glucose test done. It really wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. The orange drink tasted like flat orange soda. I had to drink that, wait an hour and then they took some blood work. I found out today that my results came back normal! I start week 27 tomorrow and the start of the 3rd trimester!

March 12, 2008 - 28 weeks on Friday! I went to my regular doctor's appt today and everything is looking great! I didn't ask how much weight I gained this time, but the doc said that my nutrition, sugar and weight is great. That's all that matters. They measured my stomach for the first time and said that I am measuring 28 weeks. Doc said she looks as if she is going to be a big baby, around 8 1/2 pounds! The doc could tell that the baby flipped around and she said her head is down and showed me where her butt is (under the left of my ribs), which you can clearly feel the bump! It's all so exciting!

March 28, 2008 - 30 WEEKS today!!!! I had another routine appt today. Blood pressure was great and I gained another 2 1/2 pounds. I didn't ask, the nurse just told me. The doctor measured my stomach and checked the baby's heartbeat. It took her a little while to find it. I wasn't worried because I feel her moving constantly! When she found it she said that the baby is very low. Her head is down very, very low! She asked me if I had any BH contractions yet and I said no. She said that if I start to have them and have 6 or more in an hour I am to go to the hospital. I really hope that I don't have her early! I still have sooo much to do!

April 7th - 31 weeks and 3 days!!! I had another routine appt today. I lost 2 lbs and my blood pressure was a little high. I also have some swelling going on. The doc said that if I get any more swollen to call her right away. Other than that, everything is great! Her heart beat was in the 150-155 range. I have my second and last u/s appt on the 21st of April! I can't wait to see Kayla again!!!

April 21 - 33 weeks and 3 days!!! We had an ultrasound today and a regular doctors appt following it. The baby measured perfectly and she is still a girl! She weighs 4 lbs 12 ounces. Everything looks great except she flipped and is now breech. The doc told me that if she doesn't flip back around in the next couple weeks that we could have her manually flipped or we can schedule a C-section. Hopefully she will flip on her own. I don't feel comfortable having her manually flipped due to complications that can come about. We have another ultrasound set for May 8th. Flip Kayla, Flip!!!

May 8 - 35 weeks and 5 days!!! We had our ultrasound today to check on the position of the baby. She is still breech, but very healthy! She weighs about 6 lbs 2 ounces. After the u/s I met with the doctor and she said that they will schedule a C-section around 39 weeks. I should find out the exact date on Wednesday at my next appt. The doctor said she will not check me to see if I have dialated because she doesn't want to get anything started. I was surprised about that. She only did the culture Strep B test and then I was done. My feet are VERY swollen and my blood pressure a little high so I have to take it easy. She also said that I will not get another u/s until the day of the C-section. I start my weekly visits now. My next appt is Wednesday.

May 9, 2008 - My Grandma Rose passed away last night from ALS. I am so glad I saw her yesterday after my appt. She wanted to see this baby so bad. She hung in there as long as she could. I am thinking about changing Kayla's middle name from Anne to Rose. It would be very special for the family.

May 14, 2008 - Went for my weekly visit today and I have a C-section scheduled for May 28! I can't believe that I will have my baby Kayla in two weeks! My blood pressure is good and I actually lost 3 lbs! Probably fluid from my feet!

May 21, 2008 - I had my last regular appt today. My blood pressure was good and I gained 6 lbs. I keep telling myself it's all fluid. The doc is worried about the swelling in my feet, so the C-section got changed a day earlier. The doc checked me for the first time, but I am totally closed. Kayla Rose will be here on Tuesday, May 27th!!!!

SECOND PREGNANCY!!!

IT'S A BOY!!!

My husband and I decided to try for baby #2 and it only took 3 months of trying! On March 8 I took a pregnancy test and there was a very faint second line! I got a BFP 8 days before my period was due!

April 8, 2009- 7 weeks and 2 days- I had my first appt today but it was only to meet with the nurse and to go over our family history. She gave me an estimated due date of Nov. 23!

April 22, 2009 - 9 weeks 3 days- Today I had my first appt with the doc and everything went well! I think I was more nervous this time then I was with Kayla! I had my weight and blood pressure checked by the nurse and then I went in the room and waited for the doc. My husband, Dominic was with me. He wanted to hear the heart beat and then he said he would leave the room while she did the exam. When the doc came in I asked if she could check for the heartbeat first and she said that she usually doesn't check for it this early because sometimes you can't hear anything but she checked anyway. She found it! What a relief! She said it was very strong! Hearing it made me really realize that I am going to have 2 babies under 2! OMG! I know it won't be easy but it is so exciting! After she did my exam she said that she is going to schedule an u/s for me just to check my due date. She thinks I am 9-10 weeks but she wants to make sure that I am not 13-14. I go May 1! With Kayla I didn't have an u/s until we found out she was a girl! We are still deciding if we want to find out the sex of this baby and I also have to decide if I want another scheduled c-secton or I may try to go natural. I have a lot of time to decide that though, I just want this bean to keep growing! :)

May 1, 2009 - 11 weeks 1 day- Today was our u/s for the date scan and everything went great! The heart beat was 164 and I even got moved up from 10 weeks 4 days to 11 weeks 1 day! Hey, everyday counts and it's a few days closer! My new due date is Nov 19! The baby wasn't too active but he/she was waving to us! I keep calling this one a "HE" but we will have to wait and see!

May 22, 2009 - 14 weeks 1 day - I had a routine appt today and I lost 5 lbs since my last appt. That's from a rough 1st Trimester! I have been feeling much better lately, Thank Goodness! All the doctor did was check the heartbeat and it was in the high 150's. Boy or Girl? We'll have to wait to see!

June 19, 2009 - 18 weeks 1 day - I had a routine appt today and I lost another 3 lbs. That's 8 lbs since my first appt! When I was pregnant with Kayla I was constantly gaining weight. This whole pregnancy has been so different then my first. At least the MS is gone, but now I have been getting heartburn! The baby's heartbeat is still in the high 150's. My doc is scheduling me an u/s with a specialist in the next 2-3 weeks. She wants me to see the specialist since I've had a previous C-Section. That is when we will be finding out the sex! (I haven't made up my mind if i am going to try VBAC or not. I still have time to decide.) We still have to wait another 2-3 weeks until we know if it's a he or she! It seems so far away!

July 9, 2009 - 21 weeks- It's a Healthy BOY!!! Can you believe it??!!! I am going to have one of each! I am not just happy, I am OVER THE MOON IN JOY!!! He is growing to be a big boy too! He is measuring to be due on Nov 10 now! I am keeping my due date on here at Nov 19 though! They have given me 3 different due dates now, Nov 23, Nov 19, and now Nov 10. My doc is using the first original due date of Nov 23, so he is growing 2 weeks ahead! His heartbeat is at 148 bpm and he is all around healthy but breech, just like Kayla was! I am leaning toward another C-Section anyway! He is 14 oz and 1 foot long! Now I have to start shopping for a boy!!!

July 15, 2009 - 21 weeks 6 days- I had a routine appt today and everything is looking great! My urine and blood pressure was good and then they checked my weight. I gained 2 lbs since my last appt, but I am still 6 lbs under my prepregnancy weight! The baby's heartbeat is great and I decided on a sceduled C-section. As of now it is scheduled for November 17th!

August 12, 2009 - 25 weeks 6 days- Well I had my routine doc appt today and baby seems fine! I have to go to the hospital tomorrow for a kidney and bladder ultrasound due to blood in my urine. They think it may be kidney stones but I have no pain, just slight occasional cramping. I guess we'll see! I am still 1 lb under my prepregnancy weight (I lost 8 lbs from morning sickness) My c-section is scheduled for Nov 17 at 9:30 am! I can't wait till November! 97 days to go!

September 9, 2009 - 29 weeks 6 days- Another routine appt today! Everything looks great with baby Dante and I gained 3 lbs since my last appt. That means I have gained 2 lbs so far in this pregnancy. Baby is measuring fine and the heartbeat was great! Almost 2 more months, then I get to meet my little man! :)

September 23, 2009 - 31 weeks 6 days- Another routine appt today! I am counting down these last 7 weeks! I gained 5 1/2 lbs since my last appt, so I have a total weight gain of 7 1/2 lbs. The baby is measuring 32 weeks and everything looks good!

October 7, 2009 - 33 weeks 6 days- Another routine appt today and everything looked good! Heartbeat was good, belly measurement was good and I gained another 3 lbs. Total weight gain this pregnancy is about 11 lbs. The baby is up under my ribs which isn't so comfortable!

October 22, 2009 - 36 weeks- I had to see a different doctor today. My doc was out sick. I went to a clinic last night and got the H1N1 flu shot and today I got the regular flu shot. I lost 1 lb since my last appt and the baby's heartbeat was in the 140-150's. I had to get the Strep B swab done and I also was checked for the first time. I am 1/2 of a cm dialated! Better than nothing I guess! I go to my appts once a week now! It's almost over!
