MyCuteGraphics.com - Cute Glitter Graphics Lilypie 1st Birthday Ticker

July 1st--Aliyah Grace Merritt was born! Aliyah was 10 lbs and 20 inches long. I was induced at 38 weeks. I was in labor for 5 hours my shortest labor yet. Aliyah is so beautiful! She has such pretty bright blue eyes. Aliyah is so good she only cries when she is hungry or has a dirty diaper. Her sisters are so in love with her. They think she is the most awesome little baby. They are such great helpers too. I wonder how I ever raised a baby without them. LOL! I decided to nurse Aliyah, mostly because of the price of formula but also because it is healthier for her. Aliyah loves to nurse but we are having problems latching on properly. My nipples or nibbles as my 5 year old calls them are cracking and bleeding. It hurts so badly when she latches on. It's been almost 3 weeks now and it really hasn't gotten any better. I pumped for an entire day and night to let my nipples try to heal. Hopefully we can get it right soon. I plan on returning back to work on August 13. Aliyah will be 6 weeks old. I wish so badly that I didn't have to. When i return to work I plan on breastfeeding when we are together and at lunch time and pumping during the day when I'm at work. I miss my little baby being in my belly, but I'm glad she is here. She is such a gift. I would love to have just one more. Hopefully I can talk my husband into it. Lilypie Breastfeeding Ticker

September 3, 2008

I took Aliyah to the dr today for her 2 month check up. She was 14 lbs 11 oz and 23 1/2 inches long. She is gaining about an ounce per day. Dr. Fernando says that she is in the 95th to 100th percentile in height and weight. He says that she is healthly and strong and doing well. She also recieved 4 vaccinations 3 shots and 1 orally. Even with 3 kids that never gets any easier she just cried and cried. I felt so Sorry for her.

Aliyah is holding her head up now pretty good. She is sometimes sleeping through the night also. She is smiling and starting to coo. She has the prettiest smile. She looks just like her big sister Alissa.

This is my 5th pregnancy. I have had 2 miscarriages and 2 live births. I miscarried this year in May 07 at 12 weeks and 3 days. It was very hard. I am also raising my step daughter.

We are very excited about the new baby. My girls can't wait till the little baby gets here. With the past miscarriages, we waited till I was 11 weeks to tell the girls. That was so hard. They found out on Christmas morning. I had a present wrapped with my first ultrasound pics and a onesie that said Don't mess with me I have three big sisters. My oldest looked at me and said what does this mean. I said I'm pregnant. And they all screamed...We knew it!

The girls and dad are all routing for a boy. And I don't care, as long as it is healthy. I think it would be neat to have a boy. But I also think having a girl would be much easier.

Proud Mom Of Girls Blinkie

February 12th--Today I had an u/s and we found out we are having a baby girl. My husband and all 3 of my girls got to be there. The girls thought it was so cool. As soon as he put the doppler on my belly you could see her little butt and pee pee. I looked and the screen and said is that a baby girl and the Dr laughed and said I'm about 95% sure. We saw her face and she has my chin! It was so awesome. My poor husband 4 girls and me under 1 roof. Oh well God gave us girls for a reason. I'm feeling her move more frequently and harder. Every once in a while you can feel her on the outside.

I strickly bf too and Carter is 5 1/2 months. He has been waking up about two times per night to feed regularly, but the last couple of nights it has been three times. If you hear anything about what is or is not normal, let me know too. I was just wondering the same thing myself. I will not be starting Carter on solids until he is six months old. It's just another couple of weeks, but I don't think he is ready...can't sit up yet, doesn't really show any interest.

My little girl also has a rainforest jumperoo...she is two and a half months and she loves it. I would deffinately recommend it. :)

He LOVES the rainforest bouncer! I mean I couldn't live without that thing lol. I can actually get some things done around the house and he has a blast in it! He's almost 8 months and 21 lbs and I just moved it to the last height level so he will be out of it in another month or two :( But he has used it for almost 4 months now :)

you may have too much of an enzyme called lipase that causes your milk to smell funny after it's stored. mine does that too. it's fine for them to drink but most won't. luckily mine has no problem with it. it only does it after it's been a few days or if it's frozen. google it and you'll get more info.

carolynjh - Friday, 24 October
I've heard that if breastmilk is bad, you know by the smell. It is not supposed to smell like anything really, so it probably is not good. I have noticed if I left a bottle out too long it smelled like spitup also. Dr told me you can keep milk frozen for 6 months, try to keep it in coldest part of freezer though he said.

I love the family pic
I can't believe you guys are coming up in 1 week. I'm so excited. I love you all!!!

I was going to ask if you were getting her diaper tight enough but seeing that you have 4 kids, you obviously have diapering down pat! I like LUVs and pampers.

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

i actually haven't been feeding him from the breast a ton, because i'm scared he isn't getting enough.. i had to start supplimenting with formula, so he'll get an oz of breastmilk already pumped, then drink a bit from the breast, and then two oz of formula -- then i pump about a half an hour later.. is there a better way to be doing that?

jillianlovesherboys - Thursday, 2 October
i wanted to strictly breastfeed for as long as i could, butthe problem is i'm seriously not making enough. literally about 4 oz a day if i'm really lucky, which is nowhere near enough. did you eat/drink anything special? thanks so much for your help :)

jillianlovesherboys - Thursday, 2 October
actually i had a pretty easy delivery - which was NOT expected because i had a really hard pregnancy... i was enduced at 7 am, and had my water broken at 10 am... i tried to hold off on the epi so it wouldn't ware off, so i got it at 10:20. :) -- at 1:30 i was 5 cm, but by 2:00 i was 10. Started pushing, delivered at 3:36. It was scary for a minute because he'd pooped in the sack, and he was a bit blue when he came out -- but everything turned out fine. he's the best baby. :)

jillianlovesherboys - Thursday, 2 October
hi, i just saw your breastfeeding post (im so jealous. seriously) -- and needed to ask you a question: how many oz were you pumping when your baby was a week old? im only getting 1 1/2, 2 if im really lucky.

anneoriginal - Tuesday, 16 September
Thanks for the info. I was thinking about just using the Playtex drop in bags for storage as well although they seem more costly and take up more room in the freezer (about as much space as a bottle). My sister in law uses the Lansinoh storage bags with the Playtex drop in bottles and says she doesn't have problems although I here others like you have had problems. Hmmm....
