Hello! Welcome to my profile! My husband and I are expecting our first child at the end of June. We have been married for almost 5 years now, so I suppose it was about time to extend our family a little! As with most new parents-to-be, we're absolutely ecstatic! Most of our family and friends have children of their own, so it will be fun to finally join the ranks of parenthood. Best wishes to everyone and please feel free to post a message on my profile. It is always nice to hear from others who are experiencing this same crazy journey!

If there is any other medication you question feel free to ask, this list has been so helpfull to me. Hope you feel better soon. Speak soon katjak7 -
Friday, 5 December Hi! I just read this - sorry for the late reply! Thanks for your input - I did go buy some Tums which does help somewhat. I am still burping, but not as much, thank God! I now want to try the Chamomile tea - that sounds great! I hope your other digestive issues work themselves out as well ;o)
My best wishes back to you! :o) 1stmommywright -
Wednesday, 3 December Thanks this is my first one too and I was worried that it was something special that I had to do because military doctors don't really tell you too much. I guess I wont eat it every night
lol. Take care!!! wisfarmgirl -
Monday, 1 December Aww...I love how you told your DH! Pulling into the expectant mother parking spot! I wish we had some of those in my area. Especially when it gets really snowy and icy out. Take care! klunkette -
Wednesday, 26 November You too! Have a great time telling everyone! wisfarmgirl -
Wednesday, 26 November Good luck tomorrow sharing your news with your family. The tee-shirt this is an awesome idea. That's how I told my hubby. On our 4th wedding anniversary 3 weeks ago we went out to dinner and brought our 1 year old son. He had a shirt that said ONLY CHILD and it was crossed out and below it said BIG BROTHER. When we got to the restaurant and I took his coat off my husband looked at the shirt then paused for a few seconds then got up came around the table and gave me a hug and a kiss. He was so surprised. It was hard to keep the secret for 3 weeks, but I wanted to wait and make it special. Best wishes!!! And happy Thanksgiving!! klunkette -
Tuesday, 25 November Can't wait!!!!! Well I am off to school last night of classes for awhile that is great I cannot make the 8 hour woek days and 7 hour school nights no a days. They say that you aren't so tired after the first tri-mester, and that is when I will have to go back so that should be good.
Talk to you soon! klunkette -
Tuesday, 25 November ooooooo, I can't wait to go to that appointment! Was the HB loud? klunkette -
Tuesday, 25 November Hello there,
I just got back from my first appointment, very boring. They just talked and talked, but they gave me a neat little book about all kinds of stuff. I had to give two gallons of blood (don't know what for) and then they sent me on my way. Next time at ten weeks on the 17th hopefully they will be able to find the HB but they said don't get too hopeful because sometimes they can't :( Oh well that is a ways out, I guess I will just have to keep being sneaky. That Beer bottle with water thing.....that is sneaky.....I'll have to remember that one :) akhockeygirl -
Tuesday, 25 November Hi - I just wanted to let you know that with our first pregnancy we were able to find out the sex at our 12 week U/S. The genitals are not fully developed but then so I think it depends on how good the doctor is at reading the U/S. Ours told us that the genitals were pointing up so that would "suggest" a girl. Well, he was right. Good luck to you!!! klunkette -
Tuesday, 25 November We had some people over on Sunday to watch the football game and one of my DD friends and I were hanging in the living room with my BIL's three kids and they were being crazy, so his friend says, don't you want another, with a little sniker. I was like ah.....not one of those ones. I had no idea what to say, same thing I feel bad lying to them but at the same time, it is kinda fun, being all sneaky!
You are braver than I going out....I have to go to a highschool reuniun with one of my girlfriends this Friday, luckily she doesn't drink so she shouldn't catch on. I so don't want to go though, I would much rather just hug my couch and nap :) klunkette -
Tuesday, 25 November I have already been making excuses as well. I am in law school at night and everyone goes out drinking every Thurs. night aafter class to relieve the stress from the week (most of us work 40 hours as well). I haven't been going and have come up with the story that I don't want to drink because I have quit smoking (which I obviously did) and I am concerned that I will start up again. That seems to be working pretty well with the school crowd, but will not go over with the family (especially my husbands side), they will not take no for an answer, so I am going to have to come up with something else. I am thinking that I will go with the cranberry and vodka (minus the vodka)! That will go right along with you diet coke! ;) klunkette -
Monday, 24 November We are so glad that we get to go in on the 17th because then we will be able to tell everyone for Christmas. I don't think that I could stand sitting around with everyone and not telling them! We have a 7 year old though so we have to be careful not to get her hopes up, you know just in case. I don't know how I am going to keep it quiet for Thanksgiving, we are doing it at our house and usually I would at least have a couple of drinks to celebrate. I am sure that I am going to have to come up with some excuses, somebody will notice! Have fun with the announcement.....I can't wait! klunkette -
Monday, 24 November Oh, neat you will be having a U/S on the same day that I get to hear the heartbeat (hopefully)! I am excited about going tomorrow to ask questions and stuff but wish that they would be able to tell me more. Oh well I guess that I will have the rest of my life to know this little one I can wait a few more weeks to see/hear him or her. It is so tough because we are waiting to tell most people until we hear the heartbeat because I hear that risks go down to like 1% once you hear the heart (yay for you!). It is so hard not to tell! Can't wait to hear about who you see on the 17th! klunkette -
Monday, 24 November Hey there,
It is good to see that someone else had to wait to have the first appointment. I am in week 6 and it seems like everyone is having U/S. I am going tomorrow to talk with the dr. and give them information about my husband and myself, but don't get to have any tests or screens and U/S until right around 10 weeks. I guess I am just impatient. I am glad to hear that everything is fine with you and hope to find the same results in 3 1/2 weeks!

Friday, 21 November I was having problems with urgency & then nothing really coming out... I read that leaning forward gives your bladder a better angle to get everything out. Also, wait a few moments & try again. These really helped me, especially the leaning forward. I don't run to the bathroom 1/2 as much anymore. wisfarmgirl -
Friday, 21 November You have lots of pregnancy symptoms. That's good. My first OB appt isn't until Dec. 1 when I'll be 10 weeks. But since this isn't my first pregnancty I'm okay with it I guess. They don't do that much at the appts except check your pee, take your blood, and measure your belly. Except for the appts with U/S. I have to call and make sure I get an U/S with this appt. I need to see the heartbeat!!!

Thursday, 20 November Not having any morning sickness probably just means that you are keeping yourself hydrated and not letting yourself get too hungry. Are you super tired? That's a for sure sign. Also having to pee frequently. Let me know how your appointment goes. I wish you well!! wisfarmgirl -
Thursday, 20 November It's great to see that you are waiting to share your news too! I think I'm going to wait until Christmas. I am going to wait as long as possible to tell my boss/co-workers, b/c when I was pregnant with my son they couldn't stop the comments and touching. I hate that! :P My due date might change after my first OB appt., but so far we're due on the same day. Let's stay in touch. BTW, you're so lucky not to have m/s all day long!!! Jen838818 -
Thursday, 20 November Yes they are horrible. I have always had a problem getting them while stressed, so I took Valtrex, which always took care of them immmidiately. Well, I was unsure whether it was safe or not (got it on a friday night) my lip swelled to about four times its original size, and I got about 5 more! It has been torture! I did get the go ahead for my meds from my OB, but my lip is just miserable! I heard from my OB that pregnant women get fever blisters much more often. Ugh not looking forward to this!!! Terise -
Thursday, 20 November Hey JAH, I'm pleased to say that the Dr decided to send me for a scan this morning and everything was perfect. Now i can breath a big sigh aof relief and stop being so silly worrying about everything.

Wednesday, 19 November Thank-You so much for your kind words. I have been repeating your last sentence to myself and my husband all day, and I wanted to let you know it has been soothing! Much appreciated! momma sue -

Tuesday, 18 November I havnt had my first appointment yet, wont have that until January:( you have to wait so long in Australia for your first appointment.
I do get to see an endochronologist(dont know how thats spelt) regarding my pregnancy as i have thyroid antibodies and they want to make sure it wont effect my pregnancy. That appt will be all about my thyroid but maybe i can ask them some q's as well. I'm going to get some hcg tests done today to see if the levels are where they should be.
lets just hope that we are very lucky, it sounds quite strange to wish we were sick right, those that are really suffereing are probably thinking we are crazy. Terise -
