hi, no it doesnt take my breath away. but it feels really uncomfortable for a min or 2. my blood pressure has been up the last 2 days so have been going to hospital to get it checked over and have to go every day fora week get monitored for an hr then go home as long as it stays down. the joys!

vikki - Friday, 13 June

You crack me up! Sloth is a good description. I am on holidays visiting my mom so I don't have to do much during the day and I still find myself utterly exhausted by noon!

I feel them flip once and a while, but it is starting to lessen. It is soooo uncomfortable with a head against the ribs, I don't think they like it either so they aren't doing it much anymore.

I don't have my bag packed yet - I'll do it when I get home as I will be into the third trimester! Crazy.

Let me know how your US goes tomorrow.

macandtwins - Thursday, 12 June
I use to think the same thing about my babies. You can definitely feel when they are flipping. Don't mistake the hardness in your stomach for the babies. It could very well be Braxton Hicks. Talk with your doctor just to be sure.

Hi there, you answered me on the twin page. Do you remember what your levels were when you were 5 wks? Just I had mine done again yesturday which was 5wk 5 days and they came back at 51,054! When they should probably be a top of around 6,000.. Just wondering, Thanks

elsairis00 - Thursday, 12 June
yeah! that's what I am hoping for :)

everythingX2 - Wednesday, 11 June
hi, reading ur question - yes i felt it both times when they flipped and then flipped back again to be breach. its really weird and its a bigger jelly like movement to ur stomach and then it stopped and no other movement for a couple of hrs. i dont know if maybe it was too much energy and then they were quiet. but it felt like a really big movement and also when i was watching my stomach and it happened the second time it was like watching jelly wiggle on a plate for a min or 2. im a uk size 10 so i dont have a lot of belly to wiggle but thats what it looked liked.

Good luck with the lactation consultant. How have you been feeling lately? Are you all ready to go and prepared? Crazy how time is flying by!

hi im fine now today i had a good few hours sleep and my swelings gone down my fet look near normal and iv had no braxton hocks today i think i must have done to much on sunday when i started geting realy strong ones so looks like they staying put for a bit longer.

babystanton - Sunday, 8 June
Thanks for the tips. My son's suck is so strong that That is the reason why we had to stop feeding from the breast and pump the milk for him. The lactation nurses were afraid that he would tear me. I came very close to bleeding after about 2 weeks and I was using the breast cream and everything. It was extremely painful. I am pumping in between feedings and now I am taking herbs to help me out too. So far, it's going alright, but I know that it takes a few days to see a difference too. I'm just staying positive. :)

Thanks, I am trying everything I can at the moment, but I don'tknow how much longer I can take it....lol. Its sooo hard not to scratch....but i know i'll do some real damage and make it worse if I do.

How have you been??

went to the doctor today, i am a bit dissapointed i didnt get a sonogram but he did check the heart beat!

Hey, I think that is the exact pillow! The reason I didn't know the brand was that the multiples association here in my city loans them to us for free so I never did the research. I have already picked it up again for this next go around.

Good luck with the breastfeeding. The other suggestion I have is to talk to a lactation nurse in the hospital if you can to get her to watch you and give advice (I don't know how this works in the States). Some of the things I was told: strip down - not completely - but you know what I mean. No nursing bra, T-shirt - nothing, that way nothing can get in the way or restrict flow (so I nursed primarily at home for obvious reasons. When I did have to nurse out of the house I just did one at a time). Latch one at a time, and if one is a better sucker than the other, latch that one first as it helps the flow from the other breast. Also, manual compressions (when you pump your own breast) while the babe is nursing helps them get more milk. I would do about 5 compressions on one side, then switch, back and forth for most of the nursing session until they were older and didn't need help getting the milk out anymore.

If I think of anything else I will let you know. I would suggest maybe a breastfeeding prenatal class if that is offered just to help with how to latch, etc.

BTW, I LOVE your belly shots, you look so beautiful! You definitely have the pregnancy glow!

So I am surprised that your doc said what he did about the breastfeeding, unless he has a medical reason. I breastfed my girls. Now, I wasn't super keen on the idea initially (I wasn't exactly the worlds biggest baby person - and I really never thought that I would have kids), ANYWAYS, it went really well so we went along with it. The first few weeks were a bit rough, the girls could latch and suck, but they just couldn't suck hard enough so I had to pump after every nurse, and then supplement them (and with feeds every 3 hours it seemed all time consuming just to feed them). Well, we saw a lactation consultant and she gave us a few pointers and Wham! the girls didn't need to be supplemented anymore! What a relief. I continued to pump probably for another month so that the girls could continue to have a bottle once a day and I could get a break (especially at night). In the end I exclusively breastfed them for 4 months, at which point my supply just couldn't keep up, so we started bottle feeding at night, and by 6 months we were all weaned.

If you want to breastfeed I would recommend an awesome twins nursing pillow - a really firm one so that they can just lay there and feed and you can use your hands to either position their heads or to manually pump your breast to assist with the flow. I tandem nursed which helped cut down the amount of work your doing and it helped keep them on a similar schedule. Again you need an amazing pillow to do this. I will try to find out the brand of pillow I had in case you want to try to feed them. It is a special experience but lots of work with two so if it doesn't work out don't feel bad, lots of kids are brought up just fine on formula (I was one of them).

I can't believe you only have 10 weeks left. Arghhhh, that means I am only shortly behind you! I am still anxious about these two coming, I really pray that I can mellow out a bit. At least my husband is excited about having a big family now!
