Message to all: In the last 2 years you all posted 1.1 million photos to the site, and that needs a little maintenance. We are currently renaming all photos from the personal photobooks in order to speed up the site. Some, or all your photos may not show while we are working on the photobooks. You don't have to do anything. We hope to have all photos sorted in about 24 hours from now. You can upload new photos to your photobook while the computer is working on your other photos. Thanks for reading.

Update: Brody & I are doing good. We finally get to go home tomorrow. I'm kind of nervous about going home tomorrow bc I wont have the nurses there to help me (but I didnt always send him to the nursery bc I felt bad & I cried everytime they took him for tests). I will have help from my bf when he's not working & my aunt is in town so she'll help me too. I stayed in the hosptial so long bc before I went into surgery I had a fever of 102 (almost 103). My nurse said that it's also a law that if a women gets a c-section she has to stay for atleast 3days. I've been here since Sunday morning. Anyway Brody is sooooo cute & healthy. ALL the nurses are crazy about him! I'm still in alot of pain & my feet, legs, calfs are swollen but I'll be okay. It was all worth it. I love him so much. I cry if he's away from me for 5mins. How are you doing? Hope all is well with you.
Take care!
I'll keep you updated as much as possible. Birth story & pics will be up as soon as I'm feeling better & have the engery to do it.

I am sure your baby will be ok. You should maybe go to more than one source on such an important issue. You want to make sure they are right. Also what exactly do you mean abnormal. I am not clear.
Big Hug and Kiss!

Please do not worry yourself!! These tests are NOT accurate, that's why I opted out of even doing them. Sometimes they cause added stress when nothing is even wrong! Try not to worry, you're chances are very, very slim. I'll keep you in my prayers though.

still in shock

oh, and it sounds like the down syndrome test, so Ill go ahead and tell you that since your so young your chance of the baby actually having down syndrome, even with a positive on the first is .5% thats less than 1

Hey, I hope all goes well with your baby..
My best friend got a phone calling and they told her that her blood work came back abnormal... she was so worrried. Well yesterday was her 2 hour ultrasound and genetic counseling.. her baby is fine it was a false positive.

Hey. I wouldn't worry yet. I know it's scary but if it was the FTP test they say that can come back abnormal and everything be okay with the baby. They even told me it can come back normal and then something could still be wrong with the baby. So it's really hard to tell until they give you a more detailed sonogram and look further into it. Just keep praying that it's healthy. And don't get crazy until you get further tests done, because those tests aren't always 100%. Good Luck.

So I read your msg about the test results. Once upon a time I was pregnant and I got blood work done, too. It, as well, came back "abnormal". After talking to a genetic counselor we found out that there were possibilities for down's syndrome, heart defects, etc. The ultrasound confirmed that the nuchal translucency measured off, too. They later confirmed that it was not down's syndrome, but a heart defect. She had a couple holes in her heart. But anyways, the blood tests are really accurate, yet the outcome may not always be so bad. Believe me, if she didn't have SO MANY complications, then she would have been fine. Many babys are born with holes in their hearts and murmurs and are perfectly healthy. I think you shouldn't let yourself lose sleep over OR be upset with the docs. They are just doing their job and want to make sure that they can help with whatever they can when your baby is here. For instance, if they confirm that say...it's a heart defect, they can ask you to have an amnio performed so they can better diagnose what the issue is so they have a plan of care when baby comes. You say you feel that eveything is okay and ususally your gut is right! Trust it, and just take it all little by little! Hope everything turns out perfectly for you three!!
