Welcome

My name is Asha and I am 24 years old. DH and I have a beautiful 22 month old daughter named Sameera and Nov 2008 we found out that we were expecting another bundle of joy. So far this pregnancy has been going well and we can't wait to greet our 2nd little princess. Lilypie 2nd Birthday PicLilypie 2nd Birthday Ticker

Sameera's Birth Story 9th June 2007

The day before my due date my midwife came for a check up and was suprised to see I was not dilated and if this was the case then I would need to be in a weeks time.

The night of 9th June I woke up to a small dull ache in my stomach and thought nothing of it taking a paracetamol and going back to sleep. By 4am that night I woke up again asking my husband to call the hospital. He did and me were they asked me to time my contractions which at the time were on and off every 15 mins.

Not being able to go back to sleep I went to the bathroom and spotted a pool of fresh red blood in the toilet. Scared by now I wnet to call the hospital again and they told me to come in staright away. I woke my DH and he went to start the car. By now I was freaking out deciding to go to the bathroom again. I went to wipe the blood and felt a hard surface beneath my fingers.

I yelled at my hubby that I could feel the baby's head. He helped me to the car and called my mom to let her know that we were on the way to the hospital.

By the time we reached the hospital the midwife looked at me and asked me if I could walk to the labour room or would I need a wheelchair. I agreed to walk with the help of my hubby and once in they laid me on the bed and were suprised to see the baby's head had crowned and was halfway out.

Asking me to give one push the baby's head came out followed by her tiny cry. Feeling relieved I couldn't wait to see my baby girl and delivered her without any pain meds mainly because it was too late for any and Sameera was born within 19 mins weighing a healthy 7lbs 7 ozs.

Overall my labour was totally relaxed I hardly knew I was in labour and she came out quickly and I didn't need to have any stitches which was a huge relief.

My DH reaction after the quick labour. "Is that it?" lol I think he was expecting to be waiting alot longer to see his princess.
