Oh my goodness, I just read your post & wanted you to know that I will be praying for you & your baby. This must be such a scary time for you. I'm so sorry that you're having to go through such an ordeal. Stranger things have happened where people think they're getting the worst news & then it turns out to be something totally different than what the dr's thought. I hope that is the case for you. Regardless of what happens, I pray that you will find peace in doing whatever is right for you and your baby. Take care, and be sure to keep us posted. I know that many women will be thinking of you.

Yeah I feel better today too. Just some normal cramps... I know what you mean about feeling like you need to go to the bathroom, I get that too! What's spd??? Hope you're better! Who'd have known there were soooo many aches and pains to deal with!!!! And we're not even up to the labor stage!!!

Hmmm... my only other advice about the pants would be to look for ones that have an adjustable elastic band around the top that fits snug against your belly to stop them from falling. I forgot to mention that my pants have that in the top. I bought a pair without the band and they kept falling down and were a nightmare. :( Maybe the ones you have already have this too, but it's just a thought. Good luck. :)

Yeah I'm in two minds about what I should do. They were really hurting last night, but then I had a warm bath and they eased off. I'll see how it is today.

Hey there!
Saw your post today -
Just went and saw my midwife who claims that it is probably round ligament pain. I was up most of the night too, though I think it was more worry than anything. Kept feeling like I had to fart and nothing would happen. Broke down all of my 'symptoms' in excruciating detail, she felt around my tum and there was no 'serious' tenderness - determined to be round ligament. Maybe yours is too? She also said that there is soo much moving and changing around in there, that unless there is severe cramping or bleeding - it's all par for the course. :)
Hope this helps.

mandalou81 - Tuesday, 22 Jan
I have to go see the midwife friday anyway so I'll ask her then! I will call perhaps if I feel it getting worse though. I am up at work all day too and distracted by everything going on as well so only really paid attention before and after work. Let me know if ou call your OB.

turkishminno - Tuesday, 22 Jan
About the maternity pants issue... I gave up on those low rise soft top pants that you see in most stores. If you can find the pants that have the high panel that comes way up over your belly, they are super comfy and stay in place sooo much better than those other ones! I know, they look like they would be strange to wear, but trust me, they're great!

padow - Tuesday, 22 Jan
Oh, yes--I know! I cannot wait until I get to see him/her again!!! That is good that you are feeling good, besides being tired. I feel a little disconnected at times, too. I can't imagine that in June there will be another little person in my house/family! Right by my side, in my arms. It's truly amazing. After so long, I didn't think it would happen for us, and when it did-it took me a LONG time to get used to the idea! That has just begun to happen recently. I know that once I know what it is, I will feel closer to it. Just hope that you relax and feel a sense of peace about everything. Our little babies are happy, growing and waiting to see us! Just incredible!! :)

Hey there! How are you doing? I read your Jan 18th post and can really relate to your feelings! I am in the same boat...wanting to know the gender, curious about how things will be after it comes, wondering why I can't see myself 'there' and still in shock about 90% of it! All I know is that I am excited and feeling well. I think I am finally feeling it move. I have my scan on Feb 6th, right near yours. Hopefully we will have 1 of our questions answered then! Take care, KIT, and try not to stress...:)

Hi Shellie! I agree with Aderyn - this sounds exactly like SPD, which I was just diagnosed with last week. I've been following the advice of a physical therapist and that has brought some relief, but the pain is still there (although somewhat milder). She told me to keep my legs together as much as possible - take small steps, don't stand on one leg (even while changing pants, etc), don't do anything that causes your legs to move separately and apart. You can read more details in my posting on the SPD page. I'm going to talk to my doctor tomorrow about my birthing position options - I don't want to make the condition worse during delivery. Good luck! BTW - I'm right across the river from you, in Indiana!

aderyn3 - Wednesday, 16 Jan
Hi there! It sounds like you might have SPD (symphysis pubis dysfunction.) There is a spot on here for that. I've had it with all of my pregnancies. Just like you said, for me, it feels like my pubic bone is split apart, and I can feel the cartilage rubbing together. It gets much worse with walking, and going up stairs is difficult. My best advice is to take it easy, and it's also helpful to move with your legs together (like rolling over in bed, etc.) Also, sit down when putting on pants, and don't move things with your feet (I found that one out the hard way trying to shut my girls' underbed drawer.) It normally goes away after delivery (mine always has) and it's never affected my labor or delivery (some people are concerned about that), though I've read delivering with stirrups can cause problems with it. Good luck!

pixiekate - Wednesday, 16 Jan
wow i had the same spotting problems as you. they went away though and everything has been good! hope all is well with you and baby:-)! xo
