I read that sperm lasts from 1 to 5 days! 5 days would be great! I need that kind of semen. lol. I also read that it takes sperm 12 hours to reach its destination so it is best to have the sperm already there when the egg comes down. The egg only survives 12 to 24 hours so your odds are increased when you BD prior to ovulation and the sperm is already waiting around for the egg. That is what I did wrong last month. We were not actively trying but BD'ed the day of O only.

Two other women with sons said they did it a whole lot and not just on the day of Ovulation! So I am going to continue to BD every other day. My odds are 50/50 regardless of when I BD. I would much rather conceive! I can not take chances and only BD on 1 day and then get a BFN. I will love whatever I give birth to either way.

Exactly! I totally agree. I don't want to take those chances of not conceiving at all. I want to BD every other day like I planned. I have been looking at WAY TOO many internet articles. lol. It said that women who BD all the time get girls and women who BD on the day of O only gets boys. Well after hearing you story I think there is a 50/50 chance regardless of when you BD. I am not going to waste my time and effort when I do not actually know when I ovulate nor do I care to do all those charts and stuff. We BD on CD7 so tonight have to do it some more. Lol. This is kind of fun. Usually we only do it once a week but I could get used to every other day

thank you for the reassurance! When is AF due for you?? I just posted another comment on the forum because I started spotting like 7 days before AF finally came and I dont know whether to count my spotting or my actual period as the first day of my cycle you know? So it makes it hard because I dont know when I should ovulate and I don't know when AF should come!!! I guess we can BD everyday then we won't miss it!! haha, yea right! Not with a 6 mo old who still doesn't sleep through the night.

Hey, noticed on the TTC forum that we are both due for AF the same date. I am thinking about trying my luck and testing this saturday morning just in case - i'm going away this weekend and am wanting to drink, so even the faintest positive means i won't be drinking, plus my friend got a very faint positive a week before AF was due, so maybe, just maybe, i'll get that kinda luck. good luck and lots of babydust to you.

I hate the pills. They make me gain weight. I was looking into this IUD that has no hormones. My healthcare won't cover it so I'd have to pay $500. It lasts for 5 years though. I think it is worth it. I may try that instead of the tube tying.
