lizzie287 - Thursday, 7 August Aw that really sucks about him having to leave. Glad he's coming back for the ultrasound though, that'll be nice.
This is the thing. Right now he's making friggin $12/hr roughly. It was a commission job that my mom got him an interview for, for Sleep Country Canada selling beds. My mom's worked there for 10 years now and she makes GOOOD money. The store Ry got into would have given him the potential to make more than my mom, easily. But he freaked out because of a chance that he wouldn't be selling for 6 weeks (no one actually takes 6 weeks, but they always warn that it could be UP TO 6 weeks) for training, and during that period he'd be making what he is now. Plus there was a move involved to across the province, so in his logic, 6 weeks at same pay as now in a town that's WAY more expensive to live in (so he thinks) would not be worth it. He wasn't looking past that. Now I have to go back to work sooner than I wanted. IF he'd taken that job, I'd be able to be a stay at home mom until Ava goes to school! AGH!
When I first saw Ava ... I bawled like a little bitch lol. I was bawling throughout labour though too. I was completely out to lunch from the pain - I'm convinced my epidural was useless - and I had taken my glasses off early on because I was going to take a nap then all of a sudden the contractions hit hard. So I look up and there's the big blue table that signals the pushing stage, I thought surgery and panicked lol. It was stupid lol. When Ryan said it's a girl ... all I wanted tp do was hold her. And I did for 2 days straight lol.
lizzie287 - Wednesday, 6 August It felt good bringing her home. Really natural lol. The only thing I'll warn you about is the second day after birth and the day you leave the hospital - you will be hormonal as all get out. as soon as I hit the elevator on our way home I started bawling and didn't stop for 2 hours. Try renting a breast pump from the pharmacy when you're sobbing. Its fun lol. I haven't really been overwhelmed at all. Ryan's parents came to help out when we got home - they brought their trailor down and camped out about a 5 minute walk from where we live. Every day they called me to ask if I wanted help with anything and not once did I need anything. We just let them cook us dinner every night for a week lol. I can honestly say it's not that bad. the only thing thats stressing me out is money. Ryan just turned down an friggin 80K/yr job because the training period didn't pay well enough so thats kinda making me crazy right now... And the healing hasn't been too bad. It was tough getting around the first weend my hips are still killng me, but im trying to get out for a walk every day and so far the weight is melting off :) I tore in a T so I still have some stitches I think, but they've finally stopped itching. I just need the swelling to go away and I'm golden!
How have you been feeling? Time flies at your point eh ... it's true, one day you'll be like, oh crap, I'm in labour, where did my pregnancy go?
