LeaLea2 - Monday, 10 Mar congrats on your little boy! Thanks for leaving a message about the oil down there. Do you know when it is safe to start applying? Are you getting excited now about meeting your little one! Going by old wives tales.. is it obvious that you are expecting a boy! How does your bump look. Low? out the front? big/small? I dont know what im expecting but most people say boy!! How are you feeling in these last 9 weeks??
corie.z - Saturday, 8 Mar Hey, I've been doing some searching on this site for people who have babies with a 2 vessel cord like mine. I had an ultrasound with no other markers and an echocardiogram that came out good. (thank god!!) I'm trying to pick as many brains as possible about the 2 vessel cord, what have you been told? Will you been doing 3rd trimester monitoring or non-stress tests?
babyagain - Friday, 29 Feb I have gotten SO MANY responses too, and all VERY helpful. I decided to join my husbands side, and we are going to get him circumsized while in the hospital. The biggest factor really were when people (in private messages) told me that THEIR older sons, said they are GLAD they are done. A lot has been lifted off my shoulders although I am not looking forward to the big 'C-day' and them hurting my little baby I will believe everyone in they only cry for a minute or two. What was your final decision if you don't mind me asking??
nikosmommy - Thursday, 28 Feb So why all the worry/stress? Have you had any complications?...or is it general anxiety about the changes that having a baby will bring?! I'm delivering at Foothills too. I had a great experience there with my first son (as far as the hospital was concerned) the delivery itself was not so great (back labour and I said no to the epidural...which was probably a totally crazy thing to do!)
Are you showing much yet? I most definately am, I guess it's because the body 'remembers' and pops a little sooner than the first time around.
Nikosmommy - Sunday, 24 Feb Hey there, congrats on the pregancy! I see you're from Calgary too! Which hospital do plan to deliver at?? How's the pregancy been for u so far!?
mommyx2 - Friday, 22 Feb when i had my first i literally didnt show at all until about 23 weeks!! and at that point i just looked fat it didnt look like a preggo belly and this time i am measuring 3 weeks behind but baby is growing well and right on track so i guess some peoples bodies just hide it better than others..who knows :) thats neat that i found someone on here who is only hour and half away from me...im in red deer :)
Valeriescheller - Wednesday, 20 Feb hello! I read your post, and wanted to let you know baby kicking and you feeling it in your sides is very normal! In utero baby can do alot of things you didn't realize! It stretches with babys movement... So don't think there is anything wrong!! ;) My baby does this ALL DAY!
Everything looks good soo fard. Organs, measurement and weight is 2lbs 4 oz. I go back in 6 weeks for another u/s. They don't seem worried at this point but they like to be on the safe side. Im kind of tempted to have a c-section so the poor guy isn't put through the stress.
Not sure if u remember me. I am the one who also has a 2 vessel cord. I go back to today for another U/S to see how things are going. I am nervous of course. Just wante to see if you had any updates. Hope all is well.
LindseyMT - Monday, 11 Feb It was probably mainly water weight that you gained. I don't think you really gained 4 true pounds in one day. Wait a day and then weigh yourself again.
jennybunny - Wednesday, 6 Feb just as long as you invite the MIL and SIL. If there are other female family members on his side you or he are close with i'd invite them, but other than that none of your MIL's friends need to be invited. The friends of your mother's watched you grow up and in some way shape or form helped raise you, even if it were just parenting advise.
Good Luck!
mommykris - Tuesday, 5 Feb Hi! I went through the same thing too! Now instead of real 'kicks' they are more thuds and movement. I can feel him turn and once even saw something move accross my belly. I would not be worried. My doctor told me that he was just getting to big to kick around alot. In fact, there were a couple days in a row I barely felt him and panicked. Then all of sudden he started moving again! I'm 26 weeks now and feeling him again! Good luck and congratulations on your pregnancy! I hope your little guy moves alot soon;)
lovealways - Tuesday, 5 Feb Hi, I think if you are worried you should call your doc. I am 25 weeks and I feel her all the time. I sometimes say to myself that she will be a handful because she barely sleeps during the day...I'm sure your baby is okay, but just tell your doc to make yourself feel better! :)
atrain - Monday, 4 Feb I read your comment about fetal activity being light. I went through the same thing early in week 24. I felt like my boy was barely moving and it really scared me. By the end of the week though, his movements have become stronger than ever. I think you are fine as long as you feel him a little bit at least every 2 hours or so. Sometimes if I poke my stomach, he responds, so you may try that too. Good luck!
MommyInMay - Monday, 4 Feb Thanks for the advice. Im so glad I have other expecting mommies to talk to...hope everything is going great w/ your pregnancy.
marie - Monday, 4 Feb I can completely relate. I got all freaked out last night, I just felt like she wasn't moving as much all day, ad the movement seemed so much lighter than it had been. I feel like I should know better, this is not my first at all, but this one area just gets me paranoid!! Anyhow I broke down and called my OB................he said I should feel at least some movement, and that in what seems to be the MOST active time of day for baby you should count about 10 movements of any kind in 2 hours. I have seen other count checks...............but I felt somewhat calmed. Then I wake up early this am and she is back at moving around quite a bit. I think they really have days they are just mellow in there.........but worry is normal, just hang in there!
~NyMom - Monday, 4 Feb It's okay to be concerned.. that's why we are mothers lol.. you welcome and God bless you and your family.
~NyMom - Monday, 4 Feb Don't worry about it .. I know some women here have said their scary stories about the baby not moving but that doesn't apply to everyone. The movements will decrease because they are losing space in there.. whenever you want to make sure the baby is moving just drink some cold juice of your choice and wait a few .. the juice will wake him up and get him moving a bit. It is normal for them not to move as much just relax and don't stress yourself about it.. once again to check on your baby just do the juice thing lol it works.
valeriescheller - Saturday, 2 Feb Hello there! You ar very welcome! I know I didn't realize I was having contractions and they actually had to stop labor. Good luck to you!!! :)
baby4aaden - Wednesday, 30 Jan When my Midwife told me my baby had a two vessel cord she said she was so sorry and hugged me then I got worried, taking cues from her. She said all the babies she delivered with SUA mostly had trouble with weight and 'came out' skinny but that she hasn't delivered any with birth defects or worse so that is a somewhat helpful to know, but I still worry only because they seem so concerned to watch me every week. And yeah the worst thing you can do is go to the internet for research that frightened me more. I will let you know what happens with my baby since I am further along but I think our babies will do fine.
smz001 - Tuesday, 29 Jan Hi there. Just saw that u had questions about circumcision and even though u had alot of comments I thought I would share mine with you :)) With me, we were forced to do it because of our religion. I got his done while I was still in hospital and he was 3 days old. I think I was more traumatised then my son. I didnt even go in when they did it cos I was so worried. Needless to say my hubby had a good laugh, he said my son peed and poo'd on the doc before the procedure started :)) At hospital they showed my how to take care of it and by the 3rd day after he was fully recovered. He wasnt even restless or anything during those 3 days. Even though I did it for religious reasons I know that its done for the health benefits as well. He hasnt had any problems thus far, so lets hope it stays that way :) Hope my sotry helped as well
garciawendy7 - Tuesday, 29 Jan Well I personally would look at my son when he is born,,,My first son is now 3, I did not circumcize and his lil pipi hole is very tight and I cannot pull the skin back to clean it...He already got it infected once and it was very painfull for him,,,Now my 2nd lil boy he is 2 I didnt circumsize either but his pipi is so different from his brothers,,,Im able to to pull the skin back and even when he gets an erection it all comes out by itself,,,so I dont have any problems with him...I dont know,,,if I was to have another boys,,,I would really take a close look at it to see and make sure it pulls back, so he doent have problems when hes older, So is kinda hard to decide but thats what I would do. Im having a girl this time, so I dont even have to think about it...I know I have read about it, and I think its kinda cruel, cause I read that some dont get any anestic put on...but its up to you...hope this helps..
anfmom - Tuesday, 29 Jan OMG you werent kidding you have alot of responses about the circumcision!
