I have switched my coffee to half caff. I have 2 cups a morning and about 20 oz of coke a day. A far cry from what I was drinking. I use to drink a whole pot of regular coffee and during the day all I drank was diet coke!!! Now I try to drink alot of water, but I still have to have some caffeine or I will be so sick with a headache I cannot even see to walk!!!!

Thanks for your comments about my Level 2 U/S. Everything went great and baby is fine. The tech said they shouldn't have even had me come in again. She could tell right away that it was a shadow from his arm. Looks like no probs so I won't get an amnio either. YAY! T.C.

Hi Barbi:

As of the last U/S it definetly looked like a boy. He was showing off big time. How about yourself?

Hi Barbi:

My dr pretty much said everthing else is looking okay as far as the chance of down syndrome (nose bone and heart were both fine and measuring on time) so Im not too concerned there, but am okay with whatever happens there. The 2 vessel chord he pretty much said the same thing about a possible low birth weight in the last trimester. My cousin is an ob/gyn and he said it is quite common and nothing to really worry about the low birth weight rarely happens if it does. Also my niece had the 2 vessel and she turned out fine. I guess until the day he is born I will be worried about him healthwise. We do all we can do and thats that. Take care and Im sure our babies are fine. Please keep me updated and I'll do the same. I don't go back to the until 2/18.

Thanks, my husbands name is Ramon pronounced Raymond and he was lucky I stuck my his name in with my first son (Ramon Nathaniel) and he goes by Nathan not his first. Believe it or not he actually wanted to stick his name in with this baby again. But I was like HEll NO you got lucky the first time. LOL So I like the name Noah and he finally decided on Alexander so thats how we came up with that. Good Luck with coming up on a name Because I know how it can be. Thanks for posting.

Hi there,

I am kind of relieved to hear someone else going through the 2 vessel chord as well. We have to go back for follow up u/s's as well. Of course my dr kind of made me nervous b/c my NT scan came back at 1 in 280 just made the cutoff. They were only able to use the bloodwork b/c they couldn't get an accurate us during the NT. What has your dr said about the 2 vessel chord? Mine hasn't mentioned much to worry about but I made the mistake at looking online. My DH has now banned me from looking up info :) Thank goodness. sorry for blabbing.

Hey I'm sorry I didn't mean it to come off like that. I'm sure everything with your baby will be fine i hope your next ultrasound goes well:) Goodluck and congratulations!!!

megk - Thursday, 17 Jan
Thank you for your encouraging words! It's good to know you're not alone on this crazy journey. We had a really good growth ultrasound today, so that was reassuring. How are you doing?

Thanks for the comment. These soft markers are quite scary. I am trying real hard to strengthen my faith to know God is in control of all things.

Congrats

I remembered somn like that - thanks barbi. I think my baby's last heartbeat was measured at 170 - woooooo interesting we will see. I'm gonna try the wedding ring thing over my belly just for fun too and see what that indicates!!
Hope you're doing well. The times just flyin here for me.

Keep in touch xo

Thanks for the message. I did feel a little bit more today but higher than normal. I guess this baby is moving around; I also look like I am carrying higher than I was a week ago. This is all new to me and hard not to be paranoid at times! Hope all is well with you :)

Super Mama of 2 - Saturday, 12 Jan
I have had an epidural and a spinal (the spinal just recently)I too have a large tattoo on the small of my back with the epidural they avoided my tattoo but this spinal i got poked 2 times right through my tattoo, and everything was fine.

kat112 - Friday, 11 Jan
Thanks for the advice. I hope its not a big concern. I'm not that worried about it. I'll get another u/s in 4-6 weeks to see if there is any change. Hopefully by that time there will have been some movement. The doctor told me my placenta was about 1 centimeter away from my cervix. He told me to restrain from sex, working out, etc. for now.

I think you should read this re: tatto & epidural http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/lower-back-tattoo/AN01357

Melisanbaby - Friday, 11 Jan
I read an article that said that glycolic acid and AHA's are fine, pretty much anything else you should be cautious of.

first-time-mommy-to-b - Friday, 11 Jan
I never questioned it until you brought it up, but my face wash that I have always used (and still do) has gycolic acid in it. So far everything is fine! haha Be sure and let me know what you find out b/c now I am a little nervous that maybe I shouldn't have been using it all this time!

danish-girl - Friday, 11 Jan
Hi Barbi,
theres something about it here: http://www.babycenter.com/0_safe-skin-care-during-pregnancy_1490031.bc

The headline is: Safe skin care during pregnancy, and there's a whole lot about skincare ingredients. But if you go to nearly the bottom it says:

Note: Alpha hydroxy acids, sometimes listed as AHAs, glycolic acid, or lactic acid, are safe. Note: Alpha hydroxy acids, sometimes listed as AHAs, glycolic acid, or lactic acid, are safe. Bottom line: Best to avoid

- but I think you should read the context so nothing is misunderstood. Hope that it is useful for you!

:-) All the best from Lina

Hey Barbi – thank you so much for the advice – it has really set my mind to rest. My pregnancy has been great so far so I’ve been lucky. The hospital said they would keep an eye on the placenta and put a note on my file to check it at 31 weeks – so I am not sure if I will have another scan then – I hope I do cause I love those scans. I think it’s really amazing to see the baby on that monitor I’ve had 2 now and I have let a wee tear slip both times – it really hits you then that there’s a baby in there!!! How have you been keeping? Hope alls well on your side.

amberd - Thursday, 10 Jan
thanks so much for the info you would think I am a nurse I should know that but I didnt specialize in maternity!

lovealways - Tuesday, 8 Jan
Don't worry, the same thing happened to me and it was just that the baby moved positions in a place that is less noticable. Baby will move again and it will be waking you up in no time....;)

jennybunny - Thursday, 3 Jan
thanks for the advise. I'll let the doc know when I see her in two weeks. I haven't seen any more blood today and i'm not cramping. I've felt Cameron kick me quite a few times. Good Luck

homebysunset - Saturday, 22 Dec
i asked my friend for you today if she had any advice, she said theres no going back now so just relax and take each day as it comes. the most important thing you can do is eat a really balanced and healthy diet so you get as much nutrients to the baby as you can!!! with three vessels, plenty gets to the baby, with 2 vessels you gotta work a little harder :) but everything should be fine!

alex76 - Thursday, 20 Dec
Hi barbi

Sorry if that article caused concern, i think when you are in your position all those stats seem worse. I think because it goes into length about the bad stuff it makes it seem really bad. . If it helps Barbi, I have a rare kidney condition which caused me to be hospitalized for months on end as a child and was told I have a 1 in 3 chance of passing it to my baby if i had a daughter. They scared me at the scan and I was convinced my daughter would spend her days ill, they got it wrong and gave me all that worry for nothing. I hope everything will be fine and I'll keep you in my thoughts, best wishes x

2girls - Thursday, 20 Dec
Okay, I talked to my sister about that, she does echos. She also had a two vessel cord with one of her children and he is perfectly fine. She just said not to worry because the chances are so small. We all have that small of a chance of something happening even at birth, so just try not to worry!

homebysunset - Thursday, 20 Dec
i have a friend that had a son with SUA. as long as the cord is attached to the placenta in the right spot thing should be ok. there is a risk for ADHD and other issues later on. she had him a month early and because of that he developed an immune issue, but the best thing is to just pray for the best and get checked regularly, chances are your baby could be fine. :)
