Message to all: This message is not intended for any one person, but a general statement to all members of the site. After hearing what you all think in regards to posting photos on the forums, we have modified the rules and ask that everyone familiarize yourself so that the site continues to remain friendly for everyone, including new members. In an effort to be respectful of all members of the site, we ask that members do not post more than ONE photo or video per person in the weekly, monthly and information forums. Your ONE picture should be small in size as well. Any large photos will be deleted. You are welcome to post as many pictures as you would like in the photo books, which were created for the purpose of sharing and viewing photos. You may also post as many blogs as you would like with photos in them. We understand that many members enjoy posting and viewing pictures on the forums, but this is not where they belong. We must keep the pictures on the boards to a minimum so that the written comments can continued to be written and read. Otherwise, the numerous amounts of large pictures squash the messages and they become missed. We ask that this modification be respected, therefore any member that continues to post numerous pictures a day will be deleted from the site. Thank you all for helping us keep the site friendly and welcoming for all members.

Message to all: In the last 2 years you all posted 1.1 million photos to the site, and that needs a little maintenance. We are currently renaming all photos from the personal photobooks in order to speed up the site. Some, or all your photos may not show while we are working on the photobooks. You don't have to do anything. We hope to have all photos sorted in about 24 hours from now. You can upload new photos to your photobook while the computer is working on your other photos. Thanks for reading.

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Sx

Hi there, how are doing, you are almost due, so I am very curious!! Hope to hear from you soon!

Hi Carolinee, good to hear from you!! It is incredible how drs seem to differ in opinion. The more you see, the more confusing it gets. After our 24 week scan, we asked/requested for 1 dr. only (this is not policy, but because they could see the stress it was giving me, they agreed). So the scans after that were preformed by the same dr., one of the few I really liked. He is clear and realistic. But some of the other drs just forget it is our babies they talking about. We do not know them yet, but they are inside us, so some of them do not understand that what they say can be very disturbing, especially if it contradicting what another dr. have said. I feel really sorry for you as this is your first pregnancy and it should be a precious time and dr. should treat it that way (not hiding facts, but not trying to find something wrong either). You come accross as having been very strong, which is amazing, I think. I do not know what I would have been like if this would have happened with Raphael (my eldest). The grazy thing is (others around me have confirmed) he may have gone through this as well without me knowing. He is lovely little boy, but had a somewhat slower development with crawling, walking and the finer motorial. But he was never checked, so I will never know. But to be honest, if I would know now that you and I would get a little one like my first, it is not even worth knowing all this. So lets hope that will be the outcome and that after a few checks after birth (in which I can see the good, but I think one should be careful as well that the drs do not go overboard either and the baby becomes a study object). And regarding the growth retardation, our dr. has said that further down in the pregnancy they cannot really measure the baby that well anymore, as they get too big to fit in the picture. So the further over 30 weeks, the more chance you have of the measurments being off/incorrect. Our dr. told us that before he started doing the measurements (that's what I like about his approach). So please do try to forget about those measurements. In my view the only thing you can really tell from all these checks being done lately, is that babies grow in different stages, but that does not say anything about their future. And that is what I am hangin on too. I am not sure why they want to induce you, is it really the fluid only? Did they ask you what you prefer? In our case we have made such a clear statement that WE are the parents that the hosiptal has taken a step back, as they got the message. So do not forget what you want, motherly instict counts for something especially if you have to go through labour. That will be so much better/easier if you can do it the way you feel most comfortable with. How is your partner doing? We have had some stress about this all in the beginning, but luckily by lots of talking we are enjoying it again. Wow- my reply is pretty long too LOL. Hang in there and keep me posted!!

Hi there, how are things? Hope you are still doing ok, only 4 more weeks!!

mariska - Monday, 23 June
Hi there, good to hear from you. I hope you are feeling better now and good to hear that the baby looks fine (really nice to hear for a change, isn't it). Because of the ventricles it is easy to forget there is a whole baby there ;)) I so hope your ventricles are down next time. Our scan result was more or less ok, so I was doing fine until I spoke to a neurologist who did not have our file and was giving a bit of a negative prognoses for these type of babies. Really nice, NOT, but like you say, life goes on (lots of Football ;)) and after two days I was ok again......and then the DUTCH lost :(((.....the Germans are still in!! But the russians were just way better than us, so we have to wait for another 2 years. Are you dreading the Turkey - German game?? We'll take it easy and I do believe that things will be fine in the end. Try not to be as nervous as I am when I go in for a scan. Let me know how it went and GOOD luck with Germany!!

Hi there, how are you doing? Your next scan is 1st of July right? We have cancelled the MRI as we are experiencing what you are. The more checks you get, the more contradicting the information becomes. Watching football by the way? It is really grazy here, everything is orange ;))

mariska - Tuesday, 10 June
Hi there, thanks for your support!! I have just updated the board. I think our experiences our quite close.....we are now on 12.4mm at 29 weeks, but even we could tell that the braintissue is all there!!! Eventhough the doctor did not want to say stable (as he had hoped we would be below 10 now) he was not worried, so to me nothing really changed since week 24 and the brain seems continue to develop.
How are you doing after your last scan, have you been able to leave the measurements behind?

mariska - Friday, 6 June
Hi Carolinee, I would take it as good news as all is stable and still under 15mm and I share your feeling about that they seem to want to find something wrong....like it is a game!!!. If last time it was measured ok then it should still be, makes more sense than what she said. Do you have a follow up with your ob?

mariska - Thursday, 5 June
Hi Carolinee, good luck with your ultrasound today , will be thinking of you. Hope all goes well!

mariska - Wednesday, 28 May
Hi Carolinee, what date is your next ultrasound? Mine is 10 June and 12 June we have a follow up appointment with a neurologist. If the u/s is fine (meanining no increase) we decided not to go for the MRI. Only if it has increased we will. Keep you posted of course.

krogers07 - Monday, 19 May
. Sorry about all u are going through. I am in it with ya. It is very hard to ever hear something could be wrong with your baby. I have 12 weeks to go and I struggle many days. Here is what I do know...isolated mild ventriculomegaly has a 90% chance of everything being normal. And it is ok it they grow a little. What they worry about is a lot of growth or growth of the head as well, meaning hydrocephalus. Did you do your triple screen and were u offered amnio since u were that far along? My triple screen was 1 in 10,000 and we chose not to do amnio because of the risks. Just hang in there unfortunately only time will give u the answers.
