i agree with lizzie's post about breastfeeding. i've been doing it for almost 5 months now & the first few weeks i thought i would stop again and again, but i stuck with it. it's waaaaay easier now. as long as your baby has wet diapers & is gaining weight, keep feeding. it's okay that all your baby wants to do is nurse, it will build up your supply & satisfy all the sucking the baby wants to do. i know it's exhausting....i totally felt like i wasn't giving my girl enough milk too, b/c she seemed to nurse for hours on end. i tried to get stuff done in the morning b/c in the evening she was permanently attached to my boob..... hold in there!!

i saw your post in the breastfeeding forum .. just wanted to let you know it's normal for babies at 3 weeks to want to constantly nurse. They usually go through a growth spurt at 3 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months and 6 months which will cause them to want to constantly nurse to increase your milk supply. As for when you pump, your baby pulls a lot more out of you than a pump can. I pumped exclusively for the first 7 weeks because my daughter took that long to learn to latch, pumped every 2 hours and still I would only get 2 ounces out of each breast if I was lucky. While it's not a BAD thing per se to supplement with formula, it really depends on what your intentions are with breastfeeding - if you wish to continue for a long time or if you're doing it just at first to give baby a good immune boost. But the more you supplement, the less milk you will produce, that's the important thing to remember. A lot of people find when the supplement they have no issues, but for me, when I supplemented even 1 bottle for exactly the reasons you are wanting to, my supply dipped in a big way. The first 6 weeks or so are the hardest, but it gets WAY easier after that when your baby really gets in a rhythm and your body falls in sync with baby. I hope this helps :)
