I was just reading your section on baby carriers and I have to agree with you 100%. I started with the wrap and LOVED it when he was little, it kept him so close to me and he felt so secure in it. My son is now 8mths old and we use the ERGO and I love it. I have no complaints about it at all. So comfortable, I barely notice the extra weight!

THANK YOU for all of your sleep advice!!!

My bleeding was not heavy, that is why I say, any amount of bleeding needs to get checked...Baby was just great last time then at 18 weeks his heart stopped....he was fine just blood clots pooled behind the placenta....and meds could have prevented it...

Wow. That sounds like a good plan, never thought about getting her to associate some blanket or a teddy bear with breastfeeding and then taking it to the sitter's with her so that she feels secure and comfy there. I will try my best to remember to try that! It's tough because I think she really does miss me, and I didn't realize that they have separation anxiety at this early age ... just a milder case (since she doesn't scream or cry when I leave). It'll be hard to be away for so long, but do you know who will watch your little one?

I had bleeding early on and was scared to death. I had a miscarriage 3 months earlier and when I started bleeding with this one I just knew it was going to happen again, but here I am at 25 weeks doing just great with a healthy little woman. Tell your friend it is normanl as long as it isn't real heavy. I bled for about 2 weeks when I was about 15 weeks pregnant and all is well. : )

Hi Debra, tell your friend not to fret. I'm due June 2 and just had some spotting on Sunday of course I freaked out and thought it was the beginning of the end! I also had really light rown spotting and was assured by my doctor that it was completely normal around this time. I've known ppl to have cramping and spotting through almost their whole pregnancy. Mine only lasted that evening, but it's sure enough to scare the daylights out of you. Best wishes to your friend!

Hi Debra, I read your post. I'm 6 weeks and 6 days prego. I've been spotting brown for the last week and a half. Mind you this is my first preganancy. I freaked called my doctor and she assured me that it's old blood since it is brown. She also said if it was pink there isn't anything to worry about. But if you are spotting red with cramps, go see your doc ASAP. It's normal to spot for the first trimester they say. Good luck!

Just read your post and wanted to say that my mother for 3 months was bleeding when she was pregnant with me, I also bled for 3 months with my daughter... there where reasonings to why I bled but because I saw a doc a.s.a.p they were able to fix the problem and now my daughter is 2 1/2.... I hope your friend is ok and I wish the best I know how hard and stressful that can be. another thing is stress, if she is really stressed that can take a toll on her and the baby.

Read your question about bleeding. I'm due in January but for the first 7 weeks of my pregnancy I bled. When I was told that I was five weeks pregnant I didn't believe the doctor because of how much was and had been bleeding. She said, some people do. According to my mother she bled for three months with my baby sister. All was healthy. This is my third pregnancy, fourth child and I have bled to some degree with all of them.

Hi debra- i'm 7w 1d and i've been spotting brown for a week now. Had 2 u/s (having a 3rd today) and doc says baby is fine. Heartbeat is strong. There's no need to worry, she says. But she also suggests i take it easy

mommylyn - Thursday, 9 October
Hi I just saw your post, I has bleeding at 11 weeks and freaked and went to the er. All is well as I was told it's normal and that 66% of women bleed in the first trimester had an ultra sound and saw/heard the heart beat

cowgirlygirl28 - Thursday, 9 October
Any bleeding no matter when in pregnancy it is needs to be checked out by a doc.....I had bleeding in early pregnancy last time and it was determined I had a subchronic hemorrhage and it never went away.....I lost the baby at 18 weeks due to blood clots collecting behind the placenta......The spotting I have had this pregnancy is due to complete placenta previa with a slight abruption.....

Hi Debra, just to add that I had spotting with my son at around this time as well and he is now 11 months old.

Hi Debra, just saw your question on the 6 weeks pregnant page. I'm 6 weeks pregnant today and yesterday I had an early ultrasound scan as I had had some spotting (from 5 weeks to now, pink, brown and red). They saw the heartbeat and also saw a small pouch of blood above the embryo - the nurse said this was most likely blood from implantation that had not been reabsorbed by the body and was slowly coming out. I hope your friend is ok - just wanted her to know that implantation can be the cause of spotting even after it has occurred (everything I'd read said it was only a reason around days 10-14)

Your problems are much worse than mine. The hard part for me is not the intial recovery, which is already happening. The doctor warned that I will begin feeling healed but won't be completely healed. Feeling healed and being healed are two different things. He told me to lay off sex and anything for 6 weeks. That is the hard part, not having sex and trying not to overdo it inspite of how I feel. I probably fractured my tailbone for two reasons: 1. my coccyx and sacrum were already out of line (had a chiropractor appt that morning -- obviously had to miss it), and 2. I began pushing too early. I wasn't even 10 cm dilated when I began pushing. The midwife forced me to dilate because I was so tired I was going to push regardless. I hope you fully recover. I'll pray for your full recovery.

I think the pump I have is a hospital strength one because I rented it through a medical supply store that the hospital set up for me. The kangaroo care is holding your baby's bare skin against your bare skin, like chest to chest. This is supposed to help stimulate mild production as well. I am really trying to drink enough water, I feel like all I do is drink water!
