Exactly what you described is what I have been feeling for about 4 days now. Mainly at night. Like lasynight I was watching TV in my bed as I do after midnight and all of a sudden a twitch 4-5 times in a row on my right side. So, I don't know maybe now that I read about the REM you posted maybe she was dreaming. She has been quiet today so far I'm looking forward to the evening. My OB noted that she has heard a lot of babys being more active in the evenings. Hope this helps!

I don't know why they move so much now. Maybe they always did and we just couldn't feel it before. I worry about the cord too, but I don't think there's much we can do about it. My hope is that there is so little room in there now that the cord is smushed up against the wall of the amniotic sac. I hope so! I try to picture being all cramped up in a small space with a rope, then trying to wiggle enough to get the rope around me. It's probably pretty tough. Let's hope so anyway!

I'm feeling so much movement now, it's practically constant. I love it! Let's just hope this doesn't mean I have a super hyper baby!

Thank you so much for your advice I appreciate it and I'm sure that her baby will be fine. She has stopped drinking so that shows me she cares about this baby just nervous thats all which is very normal. :)

Hi congratulations on your pregnancy. Not long to go now! Also congratultions on moving into your new home.x

I think that you can bring up labour techniques and pain relief at any point now. It's good to know your options ahead of time. I plan on using the birthing pool during labour, but not during delivery (apparently it's more difficult for first timers to actually deliver in the water, though it can be done). I've spent a lot of time swimming throughout my pregnancy and I always feel great in the water. I think it'll be a great way to keep calm and manage the pain.

I was thinking of investing in a TENS machine. When I asked my doctor if it was worth it she said no. I think that's because she has a lot of patients that get an epidural. I'm the only when that wants to go natural and a water birth if possible. She acutally told me she doesn't do water births. LOL I'm looking into changing my doctor to one who is more into what I want and not what they want. =) Let me know if you here anything about the TENS machine. =)

Can you imagine what labor is going to be like after having a leg cramp. If it's anything like that....I'm going for the pain meds. LOL

Jo-Mama - Wednesday, 23 Jan
You can relieve pain without an epidural. Read books about different types of relaxation methods. Find The Birth Book by Dr Sears. The thing that causes the most pain is fear and tension, so if you're freaked out, you probably will feel a lot of pain (not fair, is it?). What I would do is look online for positive birth stories. After reading a bunch of testimonials from women who've gone through labour without meds and felt ok, it makes it a lot easier to imagine your own labour.

Good luck!

I feel the same as you with the whole epidural situation. But I've also set myself up to realize that I just might have to get one. I've heard that it isn't only the pain that gets you it is the exhasution. With a first baby we could be in labor for up to 15 hours! And I've read that an epidural allows you to be able to sleep - I'm worried I'll be too tired to even push the baby out after 14 hours of pain! At this point I don't know what I am going to do, but I know that I would rather not get an epidural.

Freaking out is not the word. LOL I watched this video and now I'm scared to death. =) The website for the video is http://www.evtv1.com/player.aspx?itemnum=735 just in case you want to see it. It's amazing but omg I don't think I can do it without pain meds. LOL I slept good last night. thank god. I soaked in a warm bath with epson salt and my lavender bath gel. =) Now i get to sit at work for 8 hours. LOL

Hi,I bet you will have a baby with loads of hair!Everyone i know whos had heartburn has had a baby with alot of hair!!!!
Good Luck & Congrats!

I have tried everything. I bought this great bath gel and lotion set that has chamomile, vanilla extract, lavender, rosemary, geranium and ying yang....LOL it smells great but i don't know if it really helps. LOL I also bought this lavender lotion from Johnson and Johnson. It too smells great. It helps for a few minuets when i use a hot pack or heating pad. I'm going to try soaking in Epson salt tonight. As for work I feel like taking cat naps all through out the day. =) Thak god my finace rubs my back during the night when i really have pain. I guess it doesn't help that my baby hasn't turned yet so he still kicks me on my sides. So when i try to lay on either side he starts to kick me so then I turn and well you know it goes on for hours like that. LOL Other then the back pain I have had a great pregnancy. No morning sickness, tests came back great, no swelling. I've only gained 13 pounds. We are still having a problem coming up with a name. We're leaning towards Kobi.
