Laura Ward - Sunday, 7 December Message to all: This message is not intended for any one person, but a general statement to all members of the site. After hearing what you all think in regards to posting photos on the forums, we have modified the rules and ask that everyone familiarize yourself so that the site continues to remain friendly for everyone, including new members. In an effort to be respectful of all members of the site, we ask that members do not post more than ONE photo or video per person in the weekly, monthly and information forums. Your ONE picture should be small in size as well. Any large photos will be deleted. You are welcome to post as many pictures as you would like in the photo books, which were created for the purpose of sharing and viewing photos. You may also post as many blogs as you would like with photos in them. We understand that many members enjoy posting and viewing pictures on the forums, but this is not where they belong. We must keep the pictures on the boards to a minimum so that the written comments can continued to be written and read. Otherwise, the numerous amounts of large pictures squash the messages and they become missed. We ask that this modification be respected, therefore any member that continues to post numerous pictures a day will be deleted from the site. Thank you all for helping us keep the site friendly and welcoming for all members.

nancy26 - Wednesday, 29 October hi hon, I saw your comment in tummy-time... and imho I don't think not giving them tummy time delays crawling... this whole tummy-time fad is a pretty recent development - previously babies would get tummy time when they learned to roll over by themselves... my son hated tummy-time (still is not a great fan) and I was worried and asked my mom about it... and she said by the time I figured out as a baby what tummy time was, I was 5 months old and sitting by myself and becoming mobile anyway!
However you should give your baby time to lie by himself, even in his bassinet, as it's really good for them to move and kick their legs etc for muscle development... the exercise does them a world of good :)
But my lil guy is starting to roll over by himself (front to back so far - no sign of the other way yet), and I honestly never gave him tummy time because he'd just scream the house down...
If you're worried about tummy time, just remember that he doesn't have to be on the floor to get it... he can do tummy time on you (lying on your chest at an angle, or lying on his tummy across your lap - my son loves that one, or even on the sofa if you're sitting with him at all times) The main and most important reason for tummy time is to prevent "flat head" syndrome, and to help them develop their neck muscles, but that will come with you holding him anyway :P
All the best to you XX
KRogers07 - Wednesday, 29 October Oh and congrats on the new pregnancy! I bet it is hard tohave a little one and be pregnant!
mLoBaby09 - Saturday, 18 October hi there... I saw your post on week 11 about not hearing your baby's heartbeat. I'm so glad you posted that. I just went through the same experience. I had my appointment last Wednesday (I was 11 weeks + 3 days) and my doctor couldn't hear the HB either. She did a vaginal exam, felt where my uterus was sitting and got a better idea of where the baby was so she tried again... but with no luck. So I was really dissapointed. Then my doctor snuck me in to get an U/S to help set my mind at ease. It was SO quick and it's like a blur to me now. The doctor saw the HB but I couldn't tell. THen she said "look, your baby is moving around" and it made me very happy, but I still couldn't decipher the image very well. I WAS set to ease when I left the appointment, but now my mind is working OT and driving me nuts. THinking things like "was that the baby really wiggling or was it moving because she was moving the U/S equipment over it!? I know, I'm nuts. I just have to rest assured that my doctor was satisfied with what she saw on the U/S, even though I didn't see what she saw. The good news is, that we are scheduled for another U/S on 10/31. That appointment won't be as rushed! I have read that a lot of the time the HB can be heard at 9 or 10 weeks, but often it's heard after 12. I hope this makes you feel a little better. I'm happy now knowing I'm not the only one who this happened to.
