JenWVU - Monday, 22 September We played a game at my baby shower where there were 10 pictures of ultrasounds. We had to identify the body part indicated in all 10 ultrasounds. For example, one picture was of girl parts. Another picture of boy parts. Another of the stomach. Another of the heart. Another of the spine. It was alot of fun, and harder than I thought it would be since I have had quite a few ultrasounds myself!! I think the girl printed the ultrasound pictures off the internet.
thebigtomato - Monday, 22 September OK, guess I should read other comments before I reply! lol
thebigtomato - Monday, 22 September We had THE BEST game at my baby shower. You number ten diapers 1-10 and pick ten different candy bars. Melt the candy bars in the diapers in the microwave (being sure to keep track of which bar is which number). Then you give everyone a piece of paper with 1-10 down the side and a writing utensil and send the diapers around for a candy-bar guessing game. The candy bars TOTALLY look like poop and it's HYSTERICAL watching people look at/smell/taste a runny brown filled diaper! :) Whoever guesses the most right wins!
phonics - Monday, 22 September I dont know the names of these games, but you can play baby bingo where the cards ar ebaby items instead of numbers.
You can play how big is mommy's tummy and they have to cut off a piece of yarn they think is the size of her tummy.
You can play a game where you put safety pins in a container with rice. in groups people have to be blindfolded and try to pick out the pins.
You can put clothes pins on everyones shirts and you cannot say the word baby at all during the shower. if you do the first person t ocatch it gets your pin. the person with the most wins.
You can scramble up baby words and have then unscramble them
You can have a who knows mommy best and have like ten questions about baby's name, due date, mommy's weight (if she allows it to be known) how the couple met, baby's room theme, and so forth.
RachelA - Monday, 22 September i've got plenty of games!!! Ok...
1. Dirty diaper game.... melt some chocolate into diapers and pass em round for people to guess which is which
2. The jar count game... put candy or safety pins in a jar and guess
3. A Diaper raffle... every1 must bring a pack of diapers to ur shower and will be put in a drawing for bringing some
4. Memory game... put stuff on a tray such as a breast pad, bottle, pacifier, powder, safety pin, etc and give em 30 sec to memorize and list it on paper..
5. Word scramble... jumble words like bottle into Telbot and have em figure it out
6. necklace game... give em a necklace outta yarn with a cheap thing hangin on it and if they say 'BabY' or leave their legs wide open, some1 calls em on it and can take their necklace
7. Celeb Baby game... Get a poster board and Magazine clipings with celebs and their kids and have em match up the babies to their parents
8. belly measurement... dont use toilet paper, its too easy. use balloon string and let em estimate how much string will fit around ur belly
9. baby FOod game... Buy several jars of baby food. 2 different meats like chicken or beef, some fruits and some veggies and have em write what they think it is just from looking.. dont forget take off the labels!
have fun n congrats on ur bebe
MommyOf2 [KadenAndCohen] - Monday, 22 September I wouldnt necessarily consider this a game but it was a great idea.... on the invites, they said for everyone to bring a pack of diapers. Everyone who brought a pack of diapers would get to write their name on a little piece of paper (if they brought 2 diaper packs, they wrote their name on 2 pieces of paper) and they would put their piece of paper with their name on it in a hat and at the end of the shower, they did a drawing and whoevers name they drew, they would get a prize. Its a great idea because then you get a lot of diapers.
briley - Monday, 22 September Hi Erica! Thanks for the welcome - it certainly is an adventure! I am learning more and more everyday - and just when I think i've got it sorted, it all changes!! Lots of fun though! Izzy is adorable. Thanks for your advice - maybe a growth spurt I didn't think of that. He is so tired this morning but won't nap for more than half an hour .... oh well just ride it out I guess a
Lizzy - Sunday, 21 September Just over 3 weeks...It's taking forever, but my thought is if I'm not consistent, it'll never get better! my husband goes to work at about 5:30 am, so I take babe into bed with me the, and we sleep til 8 or 9.
shortncrazy2 - Sunday, 21 September from what i am being told this is a phase the go through about 7-8 months.. i try to get her and i out of the house at least 1-2 times a week
Lakesha Smith - Saturday, 20 September She's so chunky, what are you feeding her?
trai - Friday, 19 September She is absolutely adorable!
QUEEN-RI - Friday, 19 September yea her crib at night and my bed for naps. Her dad let her cry it out on our bed though I only did the crib. I tried it with my bed but she kept looking at me and it was too cute so I gave in lol
thebigtomato - Wednesday, 10 September Yeah, Darwin's room is right down the hall from us, but I don't want to walk back and forth all night. Plus, a lot of moms say they sleep better with their baby in the other room where they don't hear every grunt and groan, but I'm much more comfortable with him in my line of sight. I just worry that he will suffocate or something and I could have been there to prevent it...
thebigtomato - Wednesday, 10 September Thanks! That is one of the very first pics we have of him.
thebigtomato - Wednesday, 10 September The way I look at it is we provide the majority of care, I don't know about you but I am the one that gets up with him in the middle of the night, therefore I should get to decide how far I'm willing to walk to take care of him! lol
thebigtomato - Wednesday, 10 September I moved the crib into our room. Could you do that until 6 months and then relocate the crib to her room?
nmck - Wednesday, 10 September Hey Girl! What if you take the bassinet part out and have her just sleeo in the pack n play? You might be able to get another month out of her in your room. We moved Michael to his crib a long time ago but we live in a ranch house, and a small one at that! It is cute to see him sleeping with his arms and legs flung out. We call him the starfish, LOL
renaegurl - Wednesday, 10 September I want to use one but dont want to waste my money either. I dont think my baby will like it. Its crazy how they have all these new things out that our parents never used. But we cant live without.
renaegurl - Wednesday, 10 September I was reading about how you said that baby was sleeping on her side. My baby is doing the same thing and she is also 3 months. We try to put on her back and she turns back or starts crying. Some other moms told me that they use sleep positioners but I haven't tried that yet. I just get up during the night and check on her every so often.

thebigtomato - Thursday, 28 August Darwin and I are doing really well. He grabbed a toy and put it in his mouth for the first time today! I don't think either the grabbing or the putting it in the mouth was intentional, but once the toy got there he was like, "COOL!" It was really cute!
