JenWVU - Tuesday, 21 October That is exciting that you have your date scheduled!! I am sure you are excited and can't wait! No I haven't been to Olive Garden yet. I just told my husband last night I need out of this house and we need to go out to dinner!! I am sooo tired of being stuck in this house. I am not supposed to drive for 2-3 weeks after the C-section, which 2 weeks would be tomorrow haha. But I am kinda nervous about venturing out on my own with Wyatt. I do need groceries, so maybe this week we will try a trip to the grocery store. I have been out a few times with my mom when taking Wyatt to the doctor, but not on my own yet. I haven't taken pain meds for the past 2 days! I think I am finally feeling better. It doesn't hurt anymore to get in/out of bed or up/down from a chair. If only I could some sleep now!! Wyatt has me up 2-3 times during the night, and when he is "sleeping" he makes all sorts of grunting noises. Oh a tip for ya.. get stool softeners. It hurt sooo bad to poop after the C-section! I had my husband stop and get some on the way home from the hospital when he got my prescriptions filled. And be sure to shave "down there" or they will have to shave you for the C-section. My incision is probably 3-4 inches below my belly button. Those are things your doctor won't tell ya ;) haha.
boystruckx2 - Monday, 20 October People are having such a hard time chosing presidents that they are now looking at the vice presidents...LOL
JenWVU - Monday, 20 October Do you have a C-section scheduled then?? Wyatt was in the recovery room with me probably about 15 minutes after I got there. I was in the operating for probably 30+ minutes after he was born getting sewn up and cleaned up. Then they moved me back to the room where I was in labor. I was in there for a few minutes and I told my husband to go check on Wyatt b/c I was fine (he had been with Wyatt until I got back to my room). Then my husband came back and told me Wyatt was ok and he can come to the room with me before his bath. So we got bonding time really soon. I know the other local hospital makes you wait like 2 hours after your C-section to see your baby b/c you have to get cleaned up and the baby is assessed. Luckily the hospital I was at was quicker and more understanding and I had Wyatt with me as soon as possible. Just be sure to tell your nurses before the C-section that you want your baby ASAP, especially if you breastfeed. And make sure they are just doing a spinal/epidural. If they put you out, then you will have to wait in recovery for a long time before getting moved to see your baby. I was sooo scared for the C-section, but it wasn't that bad. I didn't feel a thing.. just a little pressure And hearing him cry was amazing.. I just wish I could've seen him being born. But the end result was perfect... a healthy baby. The recovery was tough for sure. I was soo sore that evening when the epidural wore off. And I had bad gas pains in my belly.. I guess that is normal. I wasn't allowed out of bed until the next morning when they took my catheter out. It was hard getting up and moving, but once I started getting up, I felt better. I was sore for probably a week afterwards. I didn't take heavy pain meds either. I didn't want anything to make me loopy and would affect my bonding with Wyatt. I am just taking prescription Motrin now. And the bleeding honestly hasn't been that bad. I think b/c they suction alot out of you during the C-section. And I was confined to the bed the evening after delivery and the nurses had to clean me up haha. So I didn't see the mess. Make sure to take a boppy pillow to the hospital if you plan on breastfeeding. My stomach was so sore, and it was nice having it to lay the baby on. Only 1 month to go and you can eat "normal" food again!! I have been on a brownie binge this week. I can't stop myself haha.
