marsup - Friday, 17 October When are you having a C-section? Did your Dr. set a date?
babymomma67 - Friday, 17 October I added a video of my sonogram to my profile of our baby BOY!!! YAY!!!
Dustins Mommy - Thursday, 16 October I have been good, I am in my second trimester now wishing I had more energy to do things I am so tired all the time and my evening college classes seem to drag on b/c I wanna go home and go to bed! We are counting down the days till we find out the gender of the baby, I really have a feeling it's gonna be a boy which will make my fiancé so very happy . I am also getting excited about feeling the baby move, everyone keeps asking me if I have felt any flutters yet and I think I do but it ends up being a gas bubble lol.How big did they say Aiden was measuring? My sis-in-law had to have a c-section because her son was measuring really big, almost 11 pounds and his head was just too big to come out the birth canal! Well I better get to studying for school. Talk to ya later!
2babys-under2 - Thursday, 16 October awww, that sucks, I'm sorry. I know what it's like to want to deliver naturally. But you can always do it next time. And trust me, if the baby is that big than you really wouldn't have a good experience. Are you scheduling a C-section or just waiting until labor starts??
boystruckx2 - Thursday, 16 October You just need to remember. The ultrasound weight can be WRONG! Once you have a c section . . . having a VBAC is difficult. You have to fall under certain criteria for the doctor to allow you to do it. I am in no way telling you NOT to have a c section. I just want to let you know for future reference.
Those extenders ROCK MY SOCKS!!!
boystruckx2 - Thursday, 16 October It is really hospital procedure. They take them to the nursery for their first bath, check vitals, check sugar, make sure the baby is holding his body temperature, let the doctor see the baby....etc. At least thats what they do here. It really didn't seem like 2 hours to me because at that point my spinal was wearing off and I really started hurting. So I was given medication and tried to relax some. But he soon came and stayed with me :) They do take them for a bath and weigh ins....and so the dr can see them. But it is not for very long :)
The worse part of the entire surgery is the pressure. Cause that is all you will feel. You will feel a tugging and pulling sensation, but it does not hurt :) When they are working on trying to get the baby's head to pop out of your incision is the most uncomfortable (not painful) part. Usually a nurse will start pushing up high on your abdomen (at your ribcage) and it makes it a little hard to breathe (as if someone was giving you a big bear hug), but its not long and let me tell you. Once they pull the baby out....you CAN BREATHE!! It is crazy :) You don't realize the weight that is on your back until they pull your angel out :)
Dustins Mommy - Wednesday, 15 October Hey how have you been?? You are so close to having your little boy almost three weeks left are you getting excited/nervous??
boystruckx2 - Wednesday, 15 October Now with Mason I had an emergency c section and it lasted a long while. But with Sean. After the first initial cut it took maybe 10 minutes!! Then he was out. After he was out it took more like 15 to 20 to sew you back up, but you are so envolved in the baby you don't even pay attention.
After they sewed me up they wheeled me to recovery and Brandon carried him with me. Then I got to hold him. They sit you up in the bed and I breastfed him right away. As long as the baby is doing good you get him right away . . . its not like the movies at all. Your in recovery for about an hour to an hour and half (as long as everythings okay) then they wheeled me to my room. After I got to the room they had to take him to the nursery for a couple hours....but that was the longest he was gone from me. :)
Remember I watched my c section this last time. I can tell you almost exactly whats gonna happen and the only part that might bother you and so forth....
boystruckx2 - Wednesday, 15 October Just remember that ultrasound could still be wrong in either direction. if that makes you feel any better.
So they have scheduled you for a c section on your due date. So what happens if you go into labor before you due date?? Are you gonna try vaginally or just jump to a c section??
I am gonna reccomend something to you that I bought with Sean that has been a life savor. I went to OneStepAhead.com and I bought what is called onsie extenders. I actually have a blog with pictures of them in my blog section titled YES I BOUGHT THAT. Girl because Of those extenders he is still able to wear his 0-3 month onsies!!! He freaking weighs 22 pounds...LOL They were like $10 for 10 of them. They come in 3 different button sizes and I have not come across one onsie they don't fit on.
JenWVU - Tuesday, 14 October Aww.. I hope your baby doesn't end up that big!! 2 weeks before Wyatt was born, I had an ultrasound and they told me he weighed 7 lbs. So they were definitely wrong!
I was so devastated about having a C-section. Mainly b/c I wanted the bonding experience you have with a vaginal birth and getting to hold your baby right after birth. But it ended up not being so bad after all. The worst part was being so stinking numb!! They upped my epidural for the C-section and I couldn't move at all. My butt was so numb and uncomfortable in that bed.. but I had been numb for like 8 hours before that while trying to do the vaginal birth.
I really wanted to hold Wyatt as soon as possible after the C-section and breastfeed. So I bugged the nurses about it before my C-section and they could tell how upset I was. They told me that they would try to make this as close to a vaginal birth experience as possible. He was born at 1:14 pm. I didn't get to hold him in the operating room b/c my arms were tied down, but I did get to see him and kiss him a few times. It took them a little bit to clean me up and stitch me up. I was probably back in my room a little after 2:00. My husband came and checked on me, and I told him to go to the nursery to check on Wyatt. He came back shortly after and told me I can see Wyatt if I wanted to now. So I had Wyatt in my room before 2:30 and was able to bond with just him and my husband and breastfeed. I am sure my husband kept asking in the nursery for Wyatt to come see me as soon as possible. They let me see him as soon as they finished assessing him and before they gave him his bath.
If you think about it, during a vaginal birth you do get to hold your baby for a few minutes. But then they take the baby to clean them up and assess them. So I don't feel like I missed out on too much. And in the end, it was best for the both of us that I had a C-section.
I hope everything works out for you!! Keep me posted!!
JenWVU - Tuesday, 14 October Thanks for the sweet comments!! Wyatt and I are doing great. It is so amazing being Mommy!! It is hard to imagine my life without him. I do miss being pregnant and feeling him move inside of me, but I don't miss all the aches and pains with pregnancy. I have lost over 15 lbs already!! And I have lost most of my belly.. just a little pudge left :). I still can't believe how little is.. I hope you are as lucky as I was!! Hope you are doing well!
ValerieanneBarrigar - Tuesday, 14 October next time u have a chance i realllly need to talk to you. sorry i took so long to get back and missed you. ill ttys xoxo
ValerieanneBarrigar - Tuesday, 14 October awe thats so cute what did u make the heart out of?
marsup - Tuesday, 14 October hello there! How's it going? ready to have this baby yet or what?
2babys-under2 - Monday, 13 October The pain was only bad at the very end, I labored at home until I was dilated to a 7 or 8, and it really wasn't that bad. It's not fun, but I expected it to be alot worse. Don't be scared about the pain, because you'll totally forget about it when you hold your baby Are you going to try to have a natural delivery?
Pampers swaddlers are the best diapers and if you get pampers swaddlers sensitive, they have a wetness indicator on them that turns from yellow to green when the baby goes potty, it makes it so easy to tell if you need to change them. So I would definitely get those. Especially since you're having a boy, because after Blydan was circumcised I didn't want him sitting in a wet diaper at all, I was afraid it'd be too uncomfortable for him, so I was constantly checking the yellow stripe.
Talk to ya later XOXO
boystruckx2 - Monday, 13 October I think you have a pumpkin baby in there :)
boystruckx2 - Monday, 13 October Did you know that occasionally you look like hillary duff with brown hair...lol :) Your so adorable!
2babys-under2 - Sunday, 12 October I love the new pic! It's adorable and you look great, mama!!
Well, I've finally posted his birth story. The page isn't really done because I been kind of busy, but I'm working on it little by little.
JenWVU - Sunday, 12 October Wyatt Matthew was born 10/8/08 and weighed 6 lbs 14 oz. I couldn't believe he was so small!! So keeping my GD under control kept him small. I had to have a C-section after my induction b/c he was face up. I progressed well with labor and was ready to push, but he was not coming out! I posted my birth story on my page. We are both doing very well. I posted a few pics on my page. You don't have much longer to go!!
2babys-under2 - Saturday, 11 October The delivery was pretty rough, but I still plan on having another one really soon, so it obviously wasn't too rough. I was in labor for like 3 days though and he came out sideways. I guess the fact that I did it without pain meds is what made it so rough. But I'd do it all over again for that little angel
Don't worry, it'll be here before you know it. Enjoy all the sleep and alone time with your man while you still have it. It takes a while to adjust to life with a newborn. But you're going to love it!
2babys-under2 - Saturday, 11 October Thank you! I bet you're sooo ready to have your baby. He'll be here before you know it, I can't wait to see him!! Hope you have a good weekend!
alyssabrie - Friday, 10 October After holding the camera to his face forever, I finally caught one of the smiles Aadyn gives me after I nurse him... He so cute!
I'm really happy to say that Aadyn Christian arrived Oct. 5, 2008 by c-section. He weight 7 lbs. 8 oz. and measured 20.5 in.
I have put some pics of his (part of the) room up. I expect to post his birth story, and I'll be making some changes to my page either tonight or tommorow. Either way, I'll keep you guys updated.
