Bangel - Wednesday, 10 December I was thinking...if I keep reading these medical charts to him all day, maybe he'll grow up to be a doctor.
We never used the bassinet. Spent the $65 my grandma gave me on that. He screamed every time he was put in it those first couple weeks, and now he's used to sleeping in the nursery. Maybe baby #2 will like it. lol.
Speaking of baby #2's...You still think you'll be ready to try again soon for the second baby? I think I'll need more time than I imagined. I'm not too scared of doing this baby stuff again even though its so hard. Although, doing it with a toddler in tow does sound scary. But the thought of doing pregnancy and labor again frightens the hell out of me. Wish adoption was easier!! lol. I am 99.9% positive I will not have more than one more child.
Bangel - Wednesday, 10 December I was up with Logan from 4:30 am to 6:30am. I usually don't have to get up that early with him anymore...forgot how much it sucks!! Used to have to start my day at 3:30-4am; and to a crying baby. Don't know how I did it!
(he wasn't crying; just wouldn't go back to sleep)
Bangel - Wednesday, 10 December I get enough sleep most nights now, but I'm still always exhausted. There's just not enough hours in the day. Am I just going to be exhausted till Logan moves out? lol
Bangel - Wednesday, 10 December I started off pumping every 2 hours, but there just never was enough time. My last week, I was pumping about 3 times a day, and I was getting only like 1 ounce at each pumping that last week. Guess it was involuntary weening. lol.
That is too funny about the lemons!!
Logan didn't care for any of his 'seats' really until about 2 weeks ago. This past week, he seems to really like them. He's sleeping in the swing right now. He took an almost 3 hour nap in the swing yesterday! And a month ago, I put the bouncy/vibrating chair up on my desk in hopes he'd be happy in there being able to see me while I worked. It was a failure till this week. Now he's liking sitting in there vibrating, and I just babble to him while I work...sometimes I just read the charts to him. lol. It doesn't last all day or anything, but sometimes up to an hour.
angel2008 - Tuesday, 9 December hi every one i have new pics of Allivia at 8 weeks old, please feel free to look :) xxxx
Bangel - Saturday, 6 December oh, and logan hates the taste of the zantac. i feel bad for him, but his discusted sour face does crack me up.
Bangel - Saturday, 6 December Logan loves the taste of gripe water too. Before we know it, we'll be getting annoyed hearing "mommy, I want more juice!" a thousand times a day. hehe.
My last week of pumping, I was only getting 1 oz! That's from both breast combined. The bright side of not making much milk...I had none of that painful engorgement when I quit. I leaked like 3 drops the first day I stopped pumping, and never had any pain.
Bangel - Friday, 5 December How's the Gentlease going?
I added a juice to Logan's day to help him poop (1 oz apple juice mixed with 1 oz water..just once a day). Waiting to see if it works. Lately he seems to have to work so hard to get the poo out, and hasn't gone at all 3 of the past 7 days.
Can't wait to just be able to feed him baby food and juice!
Bangel - Wednesday, 3 December In my opinion, I don't think its possible to over feed a baby. If they do over eat, they just throw it up anyway. I think the baby knows what he/she needs. Chubby babies don't make obese kids, dumb parents that feed their kids fast food every night and don't send then outside to play makes fat kids! lol; I think I got some of logans crys down...the "feed me" cry, the "my esophagus burns" cry and the "i have gas pain" cry. lol.
I figured out our time difference in early pregnancy when you only came on here at work...cause I would be sitting here wondering why you were still at work like 5:30pm, then I realized it was only 4:30 for you. lol
sazzy - Tuesday, 2 December Exactly maybe his growth will slow down a little later on. you never know. Olivia put on nearly a pound in a week so a health visitor told me to stop giving her formula. their confusing me, god only knows how much its messin her about bless her.
i guess we do what we think is best. nothing ever goes to the book! :) x
babyluv616 - Tuesday, 2 December Yes, I never could have imagined the joy a baby brings into your life.. Logan makes each day worth living for! Our little guy is 4 weeks old today and I cannot believe how quickly time is going- I dread having to return to work :(
I'm from Chicago and live right outside of the city limits in the northwest suburbs of Schaumburg. Have you ever visited Chicago?
cherryzz - Monday, 1 December My 6 week old seems to tired to even eat? I have no Idea what to do, or if this is normal. I am breastfeeding, it was going perfectly fine. Then the other day when I wake her she would start eating for a few minutes then just pass out. And it seems really hard to wake her up completely to even eat. I try everything, changing her diaper usually gets her WIDE awake. What Can I do? She just doesn't seem hungry for some reason, but that can't be it. Could this mean shes sick? I'm just so worried.
Bangel - Monday, 1 December Logan has set new records with sleeping the past two nights. He has slept 4 hours, sucked down 5-6 oz, sleeps another 3-4 hours, sucks down another 5-6 oz and then sleeps another 2-4 hours! Man I hope this keeps up!!!
sazzy - Monday, 1 December Hya jus saw ur comment about how much ur little one is eating.
im breastfeed but giving formula after the feed to 'top her up' as she only put on 1ounce last week. Im constantly worrying about her not getting enough, i managed to express 6 onuces she drank every last drop, then other time i do four and she has two of formula. And then some feeds it seems like she has hardly anything from me and refuses to have formula afterwards I guess they have as much as they want when they want it. Im sure it is a problem ur little one having what he does. What is his weight? obviously smaller/lighter babies dont have as much. When i asked how much formula to give if i was to formula feed she told me four ounce, but i know that sometimes Olivia is a lot more hungry.
Bangel - Saturday, 29 November I play on the monthly forum now a days. Makes me feel sane and normal to share with others having the same situations. lol Logan is still doing the 2-3 hour eating. And 4 oz on average. Although, the past few days, he has been doing more 2-3 oz feedings during the daytime. He's probably just about 'caught up' with weight now. So hoping he starts going longer in between soon. He stays up ALL day too. It starts to make me a bit looney cause there's only so much you can do to entertain a baby his age. After 6 hours, I'm just ready to scream "take a nap!" lol. And I officially quit pumping today. I was getting less and less breast milk and it was getting damn near impossible to find time to do it when he's awake all day.
He had/has thrush, and I'm wondering if the medicine gives him gas. It was pretty much gone and I just forgot the medicine for 3 days and we had no problems. I noticed some white spots on his tongue today, gave him the medicine, and had a HELL of a night with him and gas.
Bangel - Friday, 28 November Do you ever read the baby monthly forum?
Bangel - Friday, 28 November another weird thing is that in our Toys r us store the big can is $21 but its almost $25 online. wonder why the difference in price all over. I think the first month FLEW by in a blur. But think the past 2 weeks have slowed down some. Sometimes Logan starts screaming for food and we'll say "you just ate", then I'll look at the clock and realize 'holy crap, 2 1/2 hours has already flown by'! lol
babyluv616 - Friday, 28 November Thanks! I read your birth story and somehow feel I was there
Logan is almost 4 weeks and has been holding his head straight up since he was born too.. he made his first "cooing" too! The holidays this year will be so much fun!
Keep in touch~
Bangel - Wednesday, 26 November How much is the Good Start where you live? Its the cheapest kind here. But when googling reviews on it before we switched too it, I was confused cause some people were calling it the cheapest, like me, while others were saying it was so expensive. Weird. At my Walmart, the smaller can of Good Start is $11 and the Similiac is $15. Mike said he saw the big can of Good Start at Toys r us for $21.
Logan had us cracking up earlier. He just wants to stand up already! He would start crying unless we stood him up. Nothing else would make him happy besides standing. He doesn't understand our arms hurt! lol. And he's been holding up his head steady all on his own today. He'll be 6 weeks on Friday, if he's going to cry until he's able to stand, we're in trouble! lol
happy thanksgiving!!
Bangel - Tuesday, 25 November Just watched him push poop out. maybe he listened to the pooping lesson I gave him earlier. hehe
Bangel - Tuesday, 25 November Logan doesn't like the Playtex nipples for some reason. He kept bending the nipple with his tongue then spitting it out. I gave him Soy one day...stuff stinks! lol. Logan is doing good now on Good Start and Zantac. It does seem the poop is too thick for his liking though. Gets all fussy and appears to fight his poop. I was getting frustrated with him this morning with the fighting the poop..he kept straightening his legs out and crying...So I said "No Logan! You push like this" and bent his legs up to his belly...he then smiled. hehe.
Logan is a crazy baby...never sleeps. And fights his sleep so bad like a toddler. Just figured out he loves Faith Hill, so got him to sleep last night by playing a Faith Hill CD. lol
Bangel - Monday, 24 November I am using Avent bottles. I love the little 4 oz onrs, but find the bigger bottlea awkward to hold.
Bangel - Saturday, 22 November He makes so many smiley and funny faces while sleeping..love watching that! Can't wait to hear him laugh!
Bangel - Thursday, 20 November updated Logan pics posted!
