katie jo - Saturday, 12 April hi julia, i just looked at the pcos forum for the first time and read your comment. my gynaecologist has been telling me for 12 years that the best treatment for our condition is pregnancy! ironic. anyhow, i had an ovarian drilling 5 years ago and saw an improvement for a years at the most and then had it confirmed that my cysts were completely back to their normal amount, the buggers. then my daughter was born in june 06 without any fertility treatment and again, i saw very little improvement with my symptoms. i was then due to commence clomide in february but fell pregnant at christmastime. i'm hoping that this pregnancy will help with the symptoms (weight gain, facial hair, horrendous migraine and headaches) if not i am going to look into hysterectomy as 2 children is more than enough for us. i truely hope your pcos improves, as it does for hundreds of women.
Holley - Saturday, 12 April It's nice to know I am normal. I hear all the time that everyone else's babies sleep through the night, which I find hard to believe - this is my third child and I have another non-sleeper. She naps in the day for about 20 minutes to a half hour and then she's awake for a couple of hours. At night I give her a bath followed by a bottle for bed and once she's asleep I put her down for the night. That's at about 7pm and she always wakes up at around 11, then again at around 3, and awake for the day at about 7am. The thing I find frustrating is she isn't really drinking alot when she wakes at these times, it's not like she's that hungry. She has been on solids for the last 3 weeks and still wakes up. I can hardly wait for a good night sleep again!!!
niseybear - Thursday, 10 April Try some solid food....rice cereal for example. I noticed my son sleeps a little longer through the night when I started him on it. It's not much right now, but it does make a difference. Maybe put a little bit in her bottle. Cut the nipple a little so she can get it out and see how that works. I feed my son is solid food from a spoon as I'm not having trouble with him sleeping. His longest stretch through the night was from 8:30PM to 5:30AM...that was VERY nice for mommy! LOL Good luck!
haydens-mom - Thursday, 10 April Hey, I read your comment about your baby not sleeping. I am going through the exact same thing. My son is 4 1/2 months old and does the exact same things as your daughter. He contsantly has to be held! I don't know what to do anymore! I'm about to go crazy!
kellnjoelplusone - Wednesday, 9 April you are not doing anything wrong some kids are just fussy my son was one of them. My only advice is not to hold her I know it sounds cruel but I did hold my son to the point that he would sleep on my chest well let me tell you I paid for it for 2 1/2 years. He had to be held to go to sleep and later on he had to sleep in bed with me I had gotten him used to jumping to hold him every time he cried at night it was a bad move. Try your best to get her to cry it out and learn to put her self to sleep ask yor pediatitian if a little chamomile is ok and if the crying drives younuts lay her in her crib and lock your self in the bath room for ten mins. I relate to you in every way Good luck
Danielle M - Wednesday, 26 Mar Hey there gf.....how are you doing? How is Emma? I hope all is well with you:) Things here are going well. Hey how is Emma sleeping for you.....any better?? Owen was sleeping through the night for about a week or so and now he is up once maybe twice in one night. I just think he gets so hungry that the formula and breast milk are not cutting it anymore. I think he is close to 16 pounds already! We have a dr appt on Monday and I can't wait to go because they are going to discuss giving him cereal and other foods. If I have to hear from one more person 'give him cereal', I am going to scream. I was going to give it to him on my own, but I guess I am nervous about something happening, God forbid, and so now we have less than a week left until his appt and so I am just going to wait. So what else is new?? Are you still ttc on number 2?? Good luck with that, if so. There are some days when I want another baby now and then other days that I just don't know how I would be able to handle 2 at this early age. Well, write back when you get a chance. Talk to you soon! Danielle
~Bridget~ - Monday, 24 Mar hi ya, how was your weekend??
niseybear - Tuesday, 18 Mar I'm not scared about starting my little one on solid food at all. I'm actually quite excited to do it. I know that at first he may spit it out or gag a little, but if I follow all the instructions for first time feedings all should be well. And so it shall be for you too! Good luck!
Jess G - Monday, 17 Mar sure, I understand the nervousness about feeding your baby and them choking..I think just about every mother fears that. I did..but I just did it, starting small...and if they aren't ready for it, they may gag a little on it and/or spit it out. When my daughter was ready..it went great..I didn't panic if she gagged..I mean, cereal is gonna go down the throat...and if you don't panic, they won't..they take their cue from you. My girl took to it great! I had her on tablefood or gerber graduates totally by 7 months..now, she eats everything..but I always make sure it's small to go down and of course, that it's not hard...she RARELY gags on anything now.
kewald - Saturday, 15 Mar I have PCOS and miraculously conceived my first girl. Doctor's can't believe it because I never had a period before or after! My other kids all took fertility treatments. We did injectibles with IUI. It took 3 rounds for baby girl 2 and 2 rounds for the twins that I am carrying now. What is this metformin drug? Wish I would have known about something less invasive like that!
caitlyn12284 - Saturday, 15 Mar Hi Julia, I read your post about PCOS and just wanted to let you know that I was diagnosed with it about 3 years ago. I was never on any medication to help it, just birth control. My husband and I were not trying to get pregnant but I did go off my BC due to family health risks and found out about 5 months later that we were pregnant!! I was surprised, but as you can imagine from being told I was highly unlikely to have a baby, I am super excited!! Good luck! :)
nervousmommy2b - Friday, 14 Mar I have PCOS because of that my dr put me on metformin I got pregnant two months later. with prayers and metformin it happen. i am now 20 weeks pregnant.
lolabean08 - Friday, 14 Mar hi there i saw your post on the TTC page...i was diagnosed with PCOS & grade 4 endometriosis when i was 11...and after a threatened full historectomy at 16 i talked my doc into letting me keep my lady parts for a couple more years...at 17 (on birth control, condom broke, only precum, and the morning after pill)i got pregnant...my little girl wanted to come in to this world...then at 20 they told me the endo was worse and i couldnt get pregnant because i was having 4/5 periods a month and they told me within 12 months i would probably need a full historectomy...and after that...bam i got prego with my son...and now after having 2 babies i have totally healthy overaries and uterus with just a little scar tissue!!! so good luck and hopfully your baby helped out the PCOS a little like my 2 did!!! will be praying for you!!!
MovingForward - Friday, 14 Mar I saw your message on TTC. I have PCOS and have been on metformin for 4.5 years. I thought I'd never be able to conceive, so when DH and I decided to stop using protection we thought it would take at least a year. Imagine our surprise when we were pg a month and half later! Unfortunately I got very ill and lost that baby, but my experience was that it didn't take too long. Now we're nearing 3 mos post m/c and have been ttc again the whole time - so far no luck. I'm trying to be patient; we will see what happens. Best of luck to you and your family!
~Bridget~ - Thursday, 13 Mar You would not believe this!! I jinxed myself!!! I got sick Tuesday and have been in bed since with a very bad flu!! This is my first time, I have been able to get online. Unreal... How have you been feeling??
~Bridget~ - Monday, 10 Mar Hi, How are you feeling? I know alot of people are getting sick from this weird weather! Try some white tea with a spoon of honey. It's great to boost your immune system and fight off a cold or flu. Ever since I have been drinking green tea regular I have yet to be sick with a cold, flu or any bug in 2 years. So maybe there is something to it. Did you get blasted hard with the storm this weekend? We were hit pretty bad. They didnt plow our street Friday evening or Saturday so we were stuck inside those days. I seen your new pictures, I just love them!! She is the cutest!! Does she sleep threw the night yet? Thanks so much, I will let you know when it arrives.
