Message to all: This message is not intended for any one person, but a general statement to all members of the site. After hearing what you all think in regards to posting photos on the forums, we have modified the rules and ask that everyone familiarize yourself so that the site continues to remain friendly for everyone, including new members. In an effort to be respectful of all members of the site, we ask that members do not post more than ONE photo or video per person in the weekly, monthly and information forums. Your ONE picture should be small in size as well. Any large photos will be deleted. You are welcome to post as many pictures as you would like in the photo books, which were created for the purpose of sharing and viewing photos. You may also post as many blogs as you would like with photos in them. We understand that many members enjoy posting and viewing pictures on the forums, but this is not where they belong. We must keep the pictures on the boards to a minimum so that the written comments can continued to be written and read. Otherwise, the numerous amounts of large pictures squash the messages and they become missed. We ask that this modification be respected, therefore any member that continues to post numerous pictures a day will be deleted from the site. Thank you all for helping us keep the site friendly and welcoming for all members.

Message to all: In the last 2 years you all posted 1.1 million photos to the site, and that needs a little maintenance. We are currently renaming all photos from the personal photobooks in order to speed up the site. Some, or all your photos may not show while we are working on the photobooks. You don't have to do anything. We hope to have all photos sorted in about 24 hours from now. You can upload new photos to your photobook while the computer is working on your other photos. Thanks for reading.

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Sx

Don't worry! I have no signs of impending labor either! I'm pretty sure I'll be pregnant forever! Enjoy the sunshine

Thank you for your encouraging words. Lucky you to have a great midwife. I really wanted to go that route...maybe next one. I just chose a homeopathic OB instead, so there's kind of a happy middle. I agree with everything you said. Let nature take it's course!!! Good Luck with everything!

babybackwoods - Friday, 27 June
Congrats! I just want to say that I also have a midwife and believe that no two woman are alike. My midwife doesn't even check my weight. It's very stress free working with the midwife. I am having a homebirth (my first) after 3 c-sections.

That's funny about the bathtub experience. I took a bath last night too. It's no longer relaxing anymore! It's hard to even go from laying down to sitting up. I was breathing so hard. I told my hubby how hard a bath was becoming!

LISASMITH - Friday, 30 May
THANKS!!

HI Kathy,
For some reason the website wouldn't let me log in. So I had to set up a new account and it erased all my comments in all the forums (only 2). Anyway, I loved hypnobirthing. Relaxing is the key, but doing the 20/20 breathing that they describe in the book was the most helpful. You mentally go through each of your body parts from head to toe, and relax them. Each part has a number and as you count, you relax that part. Ex: head-1, neck-2, chest-3, arms-4, back-5, belly-6, butt-7, thighs-8, calves-9, feet-10. After you're totally relaxed, then you breathe into your belly to a count of 20, not moving anything but your belly. Then you breathe out to a count of 20. You have to keep your face and lips very relaxed also, let your mouth drop open. By the time you have completed one breath, you will have made it almost all the way through one surge(contraction). You concentrate so hard on staying totally relaxed while doing this breathing that it takes your mind off any discomfort. I got to 8 centimeters very easily like this. If you can get a copy of the audio relaxation, it would be great to listen to every day to prepare. You have the right mindset for a hypnobirth. Looking forward to it as an adventure will make a big difference. The last 20 minutes or so are pretty intense. The relaxation techniques my not work as well, but it is only like that for a short period of time and then your baby will be born. Another great book to read is Spiritual Midwifery by Ina Mae Gaskin. It's very hippie-dippie, but very helpful.

Sweet, that is very helpful! I am giving my presentation today about my study of the website. I think I will be posting a link the the wiki page I had to make for the project soon, so look out if you're interested... and yes, I am jealous that you get to plan for your garden. I have been thinking in a very vague way about planting tomatoes on my porch asap!

pinkchic727 - Wednesday, 19 Mar
It is quite amazing that the sun is shining- the piles and piles of snow were starting to get to me! Where did you find an abbreviation list? That would be so helpful!

pinkchic727 - Wednesday, 19 Mar
Hey there, I have two more questions that I thought of after your last message, if you wouldn't mind...Hopefully you've been well??

Have you found many women to use abbreviations like DH for 'dear husband'?

Have you noticed things that seem to be taboo that women react very strongly to on the message boards, etc?

Thanks =)- Val

All went well... just came back from doc and he checked out everything, every organ and made sure that all is well... it is and we are very happy and relieved. Still decided not to find out the sex.. but i have my suspicions. Hope all is well with you.

beebop - Thursday, 21 Feb
All is going well with us... I have an u/s on Monday, but all has been ok to date.. Feelign movement pretty much all the time, but no kicking per se.. just gurgling swishing movement.. how are you feeling?

beebop - Wednesday, 20 Feb
I'm totally with you...i am so concerned about jinxing.. that i haven't even told people at work except my boss and my admin. We had a m/c in August and I did tell everyone at 12 weeks that I was pregnant... then we miscarried, so since then, really concerned.. although we are now 19+ weeks and i feel our little sea monkey all the time, so i am certainly more at ease. But i still don't intend on buying anything until the last minute.. good luck !

pinkchic727 - Sunday, 17 Feb
Thanks...I was so worried people wouldn't want to talk!!

pinkchic727 - Saturday, 16 Feb
Thanks so much for getting back to me. I have really enjoyed reading the profiles on this website-all the women seem to have so much faith and optimism!
I came up with a few questions...if you wouldn't mind answering when you have a few minutes?

Here goes:

Why did you decide to communicate on this forum rather than some other- did this one seem friendlier?

At first, were you nervous about talking to people who were essentially strangers?

How has this communication with other women who are in the same circumstance been the most useful to you in the course of your pregnancies?

Have you made friends through this website that you communicate with on a regular basis?

What do you do on this website, and how often do you log on?

Do you find this forum to be based more on moral support or knowledge?

Thanks, and hopefully you're having a good week!-
Val

Wow you have been through it, I also suffer from allergic reactions to things. I am on a med called Zyrtec daily- cant breast feed, but keeps the reactions and hives away! I am allergic to demerol which they give for labor pains- and several other meds like aspirin n such.. I dread hospitals, know what u mean, but i was told once the labor comes on w pain, u will want anything to help relieve it- an epidural or whatever pain meds they offer!! I am generally good with internal pain, but am hating the hospital and recovery of all of this as are most I am thinking.. I just keep looking ahead that this too shall be ok and pass and I will feel good again and will have my 'plus 1' little angel in the house!!! Im still cramping/in pain from the growing but it has eased up some.. ANYHOW, hope this finds you well today.. Rain and cold here 41 degrees btw, i cant wait for warmer weather n sun!!! Keep me updated! :o)

How are you doing these days?!?
I have been lucky in the sense the worst I have suffered has been two different cases of Mono, then post Mono/Chronic Fatigue type stuff, I also tested positive to an ANA test which is the one used to help diagnose Lupus.. They still are unsure, but it could get worse..
I actually went to the ER tonight thinking I had a bladder infection or something and it turned out to be the baby and my uterus growing! The pain was bad.. So bad i could hardly walk without being doubled over.. They checked the baby's heart rate- still 150-160 and did an u/s things were fine.. So i guess I rest and see..
Hope this finds you doing well and keep me posted!!

Kathy,

Thank you so much for checking into that for me. I will DEFINITELY give it a try because the bloated gassiness is killing me! You are so kind to keep me posted on it. So... here is another question. I went for my genetic testing last week (13 weeks) and the sonogram lady said her guess is that the baby is a girl. How accurate do you think that could be at 13 weeks? Its been driving me a little crazy because I don't know what to think. Thanks again for your help! PS- Are you really in IRELAND??? That is AWESOME!! Claire
