ColeK - Friday, 13 June The u/s told us that our baby is also about 4 1/2 pounds. I also thought that was big but she said its normal. Both my neices were 10 ponders so I'm hoping I don't follow suit! So you're going natural? That has seriously crossed my mind. I'm so scared that if I get the epidural that I will not be able to feel when I have to push and not really get the whole experience. I'm going in saying natural but am not going to refuse the drugs if I need them. Good luck to you--it's right around the corner!
Beckaboo - Friday, 6 June yes, ready as evaer for Brenna to arrive. We have a baby pool at work going for me. Most people are betting I will go 3 weeks early (I hope so). I have to wear myback brace all day at work to keep the pain at a minimal.I wonder if Rhys will look like you or your husband. I guess we will find out sooner than later. Stay cool this weekend and if you can get to a pool, excercise and stay cool, that would be great!
Beckaboo - Thursday, 5 June How ya feeling? I am so ready to give birth
wedward **PINK** - Friday, 30 May Hey Kel! Just wanted to see how your weekend went. Did you have a nice shower? Do you feel like you have everything you need now? It was a great weekend at the lake. You picked a beautiful weekend to visit!!!
billybump - Thursday, 22 May PRETTIEST MOM Once you have been hit, you have to hit 5 pretty Moms. If you get hit again, You will know you are REALLY pretty! So hit 15 pretty moms on your friends list to let them know they are pretty! Before I was a Mom I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations. Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on. I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts. I slept all night. Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. Or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep. Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom. Before I was a Mom - I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy. Before I was a Mom - I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay. I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom. I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom. Send this to someone who you think is a special Mom.''
wedward **PINK** - Tuesday, 20 May Hey There! Yes, I had my shower this weekend and it was absolutely wonderful!! I got so many things. I think all I really need is our travel system. Yes, I am off bedrest. My specialist said the contractions have not changed anything and he did not see why I should still be. Thank God!! I couldn't take it anymore. Yeah, I took my 3 hour test today and hopefully will get it back tomorrow. That's too bad you need more iron. I love spinach and I think that is what has saved me. i eat it almost every night. Good to hear you will be in GA. The weather has been unbelievable!! How are you going to get back with all of your gifts? I hope you have a good turn out and get everything you need. I will be up in that neck of the woods at the lake this weekend, you know in Gainesville. Have a great one!!!
Beckaboo - Tuesday, 13 May I breastfed ALexa for 3 months. I did not even try to breasfeed at work. The only place to pump would be in the bathroom, and thats just too dirty for me. Its nice, becuase you can freeze alot, but rememebr the more you pump, the more you produce. I went to my friends wedding and had to pump there, and I was mortified when I leaked through my shirt, OMG, lol
Beckaboo - Monday, 12 May Happy belated Mothers Day! Yeah, we went to Tulpifest! IT was great! We brought our moms and ALexa :) Bugs theme sounds adorable! I hear ya about apetite. I feel so full all the time, yet I still eat all the time, lol. I have gained 30 pounds already! Ouch! I gained 45 with Alexa. The nice thing about going into labor is that the heartburn goes away instantly! I am taking off 3 months from work to breastfeed Brenna. Are you going to try it? It is so painful in the beginning, OMG is it ever, but its worth it. ALexa is healthy as they can get! HAve a great day! What did you do for mothers day?
Beckaboo - Thursday, 8 May Yeah, the baby movements are great, but sometimes they make me jump, becuase she hits me good and startles me, lol The heartburn is the worst. I had it with Alexa and now Brenna too. It is so not true when they tell you your baby will have lots of hair if you get heartburn (myth). My daughter was bald for her first year. She is now starting to get hair at 22 months. I cant believe she is going to be 2. I am potty training her now and have her sleeping in her new twin bed (get the crib ready for Brenna). We did the Zanzibar theme (animals). Did you pick a theme? Still going with Rhys Foster? Its really a great name. He will be strong!
wedward **PINK** - Monday, 5 May Yeah, better watch saying you love being pregnant. I was telling everyone that a month ago and the next week, I was on bedrest. I still love the experience though!!!
wedward **PINK** - Monday, 5 May Rhys!!!! I love it! I've never seen that spelling before. So unique. Yeah, Pierce has been a little hellion too. It is so much fun to just sit here and watch my stomach morph into these odd shapes. I think he is still transverse. Has Rhys turned head down yet. I guess b/t 28-30 weeks is when they usually turn. We still have time. I feel tired throughout the day now too. But I don't know if it is just lethargy from being immobile or the hormones acting again. I am really trying to enjoy this time and look at the blessings of it. I really get to focus on the pregnancy and don't have all the other distractions that a lot of women have. A friend reminded me that this is the ONLY time in my life this will ever happen and to try to relax and let everyone do everything for you. So that's what I'm doing. I have my moments though. My independence is totally gone. Hopefully the doc will give me some reassuring news on Thurs though. I;ll let you know...
wedward **PINK** - Saturday, 3 May Hello There! Just checking in. What's up with you lately? I'm still on bedrest going crazy and beginning my fouth week tomorrow. Looks like I might be here till the end. I have been feeling great so I had lunch on the patio today because it was so gorgeous outside and I paid for it late this afternoon with pretty painful contractions. I'm so over this, but know it's for a nobel cause. I love my son and will do ANYTHING for him!!!! Update me on what's going on with you. I love when I have messages!!!
julesloves - Saturday, 26 April I know of two good books that I have read that might help you. One is Ina May's guide to Childbirth by Ina May Gaskin. The other is Gentle Birth Choices by Barbara Harper. Also you HAVE to watch this new movie called "The Business of Being Born" You can get it on Netflix if you have it. All 3 completely changed the way I thought about childbirth (in a good way of course) :) good luck!
Beckaboo - Wednesday, 23 April I like Rhys Foster. Its very unique. The place on Curry Rd, I'm not sure of the name of it, but they have a bunch of stuff. Its worth checking out! Its near Adirondack Tire. Ya cant miss it! Have you been to the crossings yet? In colonie? Its lovely! To walk now while pregnant and after the baby is born. Its on Albany Shaker Rd Have a great day! P.S. This pregnancy is really hard on my back!
Beckaboo - Monday, 21 April Wow, I have gained an extra 10 lbs on you already! YIKES :) We drove down Rt 20 in Guilderland (my hubby's parents live in Guilderland)and I noticed a kids consignment place. Did you try that place? Down past the 20 mall, going towards Duanesburg. I also checked out the place I told you about on Curry rd. They had some cute stuff. I just dont need anything at all :) Did you pick out a definite name yet? I bet you'll be a great mom!
gr8scottswife - Saturday, 19 April Try books by Ina May Gaskin and the hypnobirthing book by Marie Mongan. These are excellent! They will help you relax and feel comfortable about natural birth.
wedward **PINK** - Friday, 18 April Doing well. Just stir crazy, but I know it's for a great cause. As long as I am down I seem to keep the contractions down too, so I guess this will be my life for the next couple of months. This week I was entertained with many vistitors so it wasn't so bad. I have my laptop, tv, books and magazines and I am downloading free movies off of some good sites. One of the real frustrating things though is that the nursery has not been touched and we have not bought anything. i am heavily relying on the shower for that. I was so looking forward to decorating and really nesting though!! I was also working on a lot of projects around the house that are now half done. Oh well, I guess it will fall on my husband or a contractor. Well, I'm glad you had a good shower. Are you having another one as well. I am just having one big one. I invited about 60 ladies. Maybe a little overboard, but everyone likes a babyshower right?
Beckaboo - Thursday, 17 April Yeah, I took my sister to Cancun. We stayed at this gorgeous place http://www.realresorts.com.mx/The_Royal_Cancun If you get a minute check it out. What a relaxing time. We hit up the spas, gym and just lounged. Are you getting big yet? How much weight have you gained? I have gained 22 pounds already! YIKES!
wedward **PINK** - Monday, 14 April yeah, it's been really nerve racking. This morning I awake to contractions 1 min apart and it took a long time for the med to start working. I have been told though that you can contract a lot through your pregnancy and your cervix still stay closed, so that' the main goal. How are you feeling? Did you have your baby shower or is that this weekend?
wedward **PINK** - Monday, 14 April Hey Kel- I had been having contractions all week and they got progressively worse, so on Friday night I called the doc and she said go to the hospital. They gave me Brethine and Betamethasone to mature the lungs and kept me overnight. Thank God, my cervix is closed, but b/c I am so early they put me on bedrest and Brethine as needed. I haven't had to take any since 6am so hopefully it's working along with the bedrest. It is so hard though to just lay here and not get up when you need/want to and depend on everyone else for everything. Before this I was gardening, painting the trim on our house, sanding and painting patio furniture. I was nesting alright and now all that goes to a halt. The nursery hasn't even been started b/c I thought I would have plenty of time. Oh, well I guess the only thing that my little boy stays in there and comes out healthy. Sorry for the ramble, but I have plenty of time and this medication wires me!!!
alexes - Saturday, 12 April hey, tonight i felt dizzy for the first time since my first trimester. i had to lean against something...swore i would faint, bu it was also hot today.
also last night for the first time i hd awful shin cramps.geez , ther's always somethin new!!
firsttimemomtobe - Friday, 11 April Hi! I have been feeling dizzy too! Even when I'm just sitting down, all of a sudden the room starts spinning. I read that its completely normal at this stage, and that its the body having hard time getting enough blood to the brain, because it's already in overload pumping for your baby. Usually I just close my eyes, or even take a 5 min walk and it goes away fairly quickly. Also read that if u sit at work all day, to just get up every now and then to walk around to get the blood circulating back to the brain :-) hope this helps! good luck...i'd say too to always check with ur doc if u have questions, i mean he/she gets paid the big bucks :-)
tetera - Friday, 11 April I've had this issue, too (with the dizziness/feeling like I was going to pass out.) I mentioned it at my last appt and was told to drink loads of water and avoid warmer stuffy areas. Also to eat small snacks whenever I'm going out (like always carry raisins with me, things like that.) Also, one of my baby books (either What to Expect...or Dr. Spock) has my favourite piece of advice: "Never stand when you can sit, never sit when you can lay down." Hope you feel better!
