phonics - Tuesday, 2 September For tummy time try differentthings like puttingher on her tummy on a boopy pillow, or getting her a mirror toy to look at while on her tummy. They have a lot of tummy toys out there. You have to just find one she will like.

knockoutmom - Monday, 1 September thanks! i think i may do that. on my birthday in may he told me that he would pay for me to go get a massage whenever i wanted after the baby. so i think i might have to do that sometime next weekend then get my nails done. just thinking about it makes me feel better! now if i could only get into his little brain and make him realize he's gotta start helping out more!
babygirl - Monday, 1 September thank you.. yer I'm a Brissy girl, this site is so addictive hey. It has so much info about every thing. I'm on hear when ever i get a chance. I love being a mummy i wouldn't change a thing. Izabelle's such a good baby she sleeps for like 7-8 hours a night and only cries when she is hungry or needs to be changed lol. how are u finding it all? xoxo
babygirl - Monday, 1 September your lil girl is so adorable.... congratulations xoxo
Finlaysmum - Monday, 1 September Good morning - well the best of luck with the diet - you will be back to your old self in no time! We went for our usual walk with the dog this morning - I didn't run over her paws today which is a first! I am phobic of cockroaches and it was made worse when I realised that they could fly. I always jump up on the couch - my husband thinks I am a lunatic! Fin is back on the number 2 teats - he seems to be a slow milk drinker! I will try again with the bigger ones next week again! I might try cereal when he is 4 months, I'm not keen to do it before then (just a personal thing) and he seems quite happy at the moment! I have some ink I got as a present with a hand and foot set - you get them at toys or us, target, toyworld I think. I never made it to the shops yesterday so I had better get my butt into gear today! I'm not much of an artist so it could be interesting.
Fin is in 00 at the moment but a lot of his gear just now is from the UK (presents) - they are 3 - 6 months. I don't think that I will have to buy him much clothes before he is 1. I hate those pjs with feet cos he always seems to grow out of them so fast!
As for the nappies, well I wanted to do the whole cloth thing, but that never happened. I used huggies when he was little but he always managed to pee up his back. I usually use snugglers now as they are one of the cheapest (BIG W) and I find that they work for him. he is on the small ones at the moment but probably will need to go up to the crawler size soon! Sometimes I get ones from toys r us too. What about you?
Queensland Health actually has a policy for new mums which means that for 5 years I can choose my shifts and keep my full time position open. I don't have to do nights or weekends either. I am very lucky really. I will do early shifts (0700 - 1530) as Rob's work is too unpredictable and it needs to work in with Fin's daycare!
So what are you going shopping for? I am such a frump at the moment - Fin has a better wardrobe than me! I would love to have apersonal shopper take me shopping for the day, for free of course!
How much Milk does katie take a day? Fin takes 5 bottles (180 - 200mls at a time). is she sleeping through!
Anyway I had better go - the wee man is yelling for some food!!! Have a good one and chat soon.
Kx
aussiemummy84 - Monday, 1 September Morning Kirra Thankfully i had 2 weeks of morning sickness and now i only get Nausia every other day I will deffinatly put belly photos upill probably put one up at the end of this trimester as i already seem to have a little belly (although i had a little belly before i got pregnant so who knows lol).Katie is Beautiful shes sooo cute Thanks for the ginger snap biscuits advice thankfully im not sick anymore Good to hear from u again so soon love jess
aussiemummy84 - Sunday, 31 August hi Kirra, This is my second Pregnancy, i have a beautiful little boy who turns 3 in november. Ourimbah is approxamatly 10 mins to gosford. Im excited to be pregnant again but im also a little scared Congrats to u on your beautiful little girl. Its amazing how fast they grow. Are you from OZ??? Take care
Finlaysmum - Sunday, 31 August Kirra, a wise woman told me that it takes 9 months to put the weight on and so it takes 9 months to take it off. It is so hard to think about yourself when you have a little person to look after. I know that I snack heaps cos i am at home at the moment! Walking the dog has helped me loose a lot of the weight. velcro gives me the big brown eye look if i don't walk her every morning. It can be rather interesting with the pram though, espcially when she tries to chase the small dogs or the boats on the river. Are you in the horse industry too? I bet that is hard work, but fun? I can't believe that your MIL doesn't see more of Katie - my mum would be here every day if they lived nearby. We do mamange to get on the webcam a bit so that they can see Fin. Your hubby works long days too huh. It sucks as it is a long day on your own with a bub. Rob has been working crazy hours the past 2 months and has been away a few times too. It's hard cos they miss so much and I find it hard not to say, :He doesn't like that or do this? We are having a few dramas today - I am trialing the bigger teets and Fin is not liking it. Am trying to persevere but it is all a big DRAMA! I think that I will go to the shops after his next feed. I was going to buy card and stuff and make a card for fathers day. I have ink so I was going to put his foot and handprints in it - that is if I can get him to co operate!! Baby girls stuff is sooo much cuter than boys stuff. I bet that Katie has some cute outfits!! Fin looks like his dad although has my small nose - haha! I go back to work in december three days a week. I have Fin's name down on a waiting list at a few daycare centres - it is going to be hard to leave him. I go on about wanting Fin free time but I miss him heaps when I'm not with him! Are you doing anything special for your anni? How did you meet? I met rob on a drunken nurses night out in Glasgow - in an aussie pub of all places. Lol.Kx
Finlaysmum - Sunday, 31 August katie will start smiling and giggling heaps soon too. He has been doing that for about a month now. He has wonky eyes which I will need to get the doc to look at when he gets his 4 month injections . We have squints and lazy eyes in the family but at least it is something that is easily fixed! Hope you and katie are having a good day! It is getting so hot here now and it is only August - UGh!!! Take care.Kx
Finlaysmum - Saturday, 30 August Yes it definetley is worth all the effort. I started having contractions 5 - 10 mins apart on the monday evening but was due to see my obgyn on the tuesday am so held out until then. When I saw her my blood pressure was very high so she admitted me and told me that if I din't have him by the wednesday am that she would induce me. I had problems with high bp during my pregnancy. I took a long time to dilate ( I was 2cm at 0900 and by midnight I eas only 5cm). They broke my waters then and at 0217 he appeared. He was 38 weeks and I was very lucky and did it with gas and air and had no tears. I spent most of the labour on all fours (which was the way I wanted to deliver) but I ended up sitting up after an examination and I didn't have the energy to turn around again. Mine was managed very well - like you my lil sis had a bad time but she also just looks at her lil man and says that it is all worth it. What have you been up to this weekend? I had my MIL all week so am enjoying the peace and serenity at the moment - my hubby was away and it was a nightmare having her on my own - she treated the place like a hotel and did bugger all to help me!!! We are going to try and get something for fathers day today! Have a good one!Kx

labour-of-love - Saturday, 30 August AWWW thankyou! Nice to talk to you! your little girl is beautiful she reminds me of my son when he was tiny...those big eyes.. So cute! i know what you mean, when you have your baby and you look at them and think if they ever left you how horrible it would be! Its un describable. The pain and sorrow is heart wrenching! i still remember the empty pain in my stomach and in my chest like it was yesterday! Ruby would have been six this july just gone! Time goes so fast. I on the other hand am grateful for her and for our loss, as weird as it sounds. I know i wouldnt have my son or my beautiful baby girl with out having gone through all that. All though having had to go through to be here today is shit! heheheheh It changed me so much and not for the better i think at times! Those traits in you that you dont like seem to emerge alot more these days! Stress and anger! but oh well! Lilly is the #1 person in my life! Just the other day she must have had something in her throat and she was breathing funny and gasping i felt so sick like i was gonna throw up... I froze i couldnt help her lucky my husband was there to see if she would be ok. Just the thought of anything happening freezes me with fear! God i worry about her growing up too! hahahhaah Sorry to be a dampner but lets just say its good to be six years down the line. Charlise is after my dear grandfather whose name was charles, the nicest man but past away not long before lilly was born... And charlie was out of the question cause its my cousins baby name. I also have lilly still in my bedroom i cant bear the thought of her going into her room. i just cant seem to move her out of my room! But thats ok i think im not gonna hurry any of it up i just want to enjoy her! Thanks for your message Keep in touch xxx
Finlaysmum - Saturday, 30 August I just read your birth story - OMG your labour was not managed well at all. I can't believe that they sent you home when your waters broke knowing that you has GBS. I have that too so got antibiotics during the delivery. Did you complain at all? Hope that you have fully recovered from it all.
Finlaysmum - Saturday, 30 August Yes it definetely is not easy - everything is so new with your first one. I found the first six weeks very stressful - I was breastfeeding but was stressed so my milk supply dropped and unbeknown to me at the time, Fin was constantly screaming in hunger. had lots of attachment prolems and other stuff too. It is sooo much better now he is on formula and he now sleeps through the night. It is amazing watching them grow - Fin giggles heaps now and rolled for the first time today. I go to a mum's group and a mum and bubs circuit class. It is great to see the older bubs as you sort of know what to expect next. I am on mat leave at the moment but I do miss adult company and work. I do try and get out as much as possible but it is hard sometimes. I haven't tried Fin on any solids yet - he seems happy enough on milk for now. Does Katie enjoy the ceral? She will start telling you lots of stories soon - they look at you as though you should know what they are saying!Take care.
Finlaysmum - Saturday, 30 August Hiya, how are you? Your daughter is gorgeous. I'm actually Scottish but I moved to Oz with my husband (who is aussie) three and a half years ago. He is in the army so at the moment we are in Townsville - much warmer than Scotland! I am totally addicted to this site now - I did browse it when I was pregnant but never actually joined. How have things been going for you? We had a rough start but going well now. maybe we might try for number two when Fin is one - not sure. 4 kids - OMg that is a lot!
catsa79 - Saturday, 30 August hey ur not that bad! but i know i feel like a podger sucks ;-(
mumof4boys1girl - Saturday, 30 August Hi there. Yes us Aussies are rare on here. No my boys arnt identical. They looked it when they were born tho but Joseph had to have surgery so he lost quite a bit of weight so they now look nothing alike. My house is very crazy with all these kids but we love it!! Never a dull moment. :)
