Rosieb - Monday, 27 October Hi, our boys were born on the same day! I started supplementing him 3 weeks ago. But he still preferes the breast over the bottle.I give him 1 or 2 bottles of formula a day. 3 if we're having a busy day. Last week all he wanted was to b breastfed. I was starting to think he has colic. But he doesnt scream every day. I dont know if its normal but he doesnt just cry. Even if i leave him for only 2min he starts screaming. Things r difficult for me bcoz i have 4 other children and my husband doesnt help me at all. I'm so tempted to stop breastfeeding but we've come too far to stop now. And sometimes he does well. Last night he slept for 4 hours. It doesnt sound long but for me its a miracle. Lol.
Cailet - Friday, 24 October If he has been napping in his crib then it probably won't be as big of a deal for him as it will be for his mommy! If he cries, I would just listen to what type of cry it is to decide if you want to go in. Or you could try going in and giving him a pacifier to see if it helps him go back to sleep and go longer between feeds. It's ok for him to cry a little bit, just go in when/before it gets to the stage where he's pitching a fit
5xmommy - Monday, 20 October I read your comment about your lo nursing all the time now. Hang in there. It is very normal at his age to be doing this. He is hitting a growth spurt. It is VERY frustrating, I know. I have 4 girls and one on the way and nursed them all. You will feel like this is all you live for. You will feel like you don't get anything else done. You will wonder if you are making enough milk, and is he getting enough. (because bf mothers make the mistake of comparing their milk quantities to that of bottlefed babies and it is not at all the same! Our milk is a totally different consistancy!) All of this causes alot of mothers to quit! DONT QUIT! If you can hang in there, just dedicate yourself to his nursing. This phase will pass...and you will be sooo happy that you hung in there. If you keep nursing him the way he needs now, you will boost your supply so he starts getting more in one feeding. If you are tempted to start supplimenting, this will do exactly the opposite. If anyone ever said that breastfeeding is easy, they obviously have never tried. You are going through what every mom does... just don't give up!
mountainmama - Monday, 20 October btw--i love the name wyatt.
mountainmama - Monday, 20 October my baby nursed like yours. at about 4 or 5 weeks she had a growth spurt that seemed to last until 8 weeks, she nursed constantly, especially in the evening. i didn't think i could hang in there, it was so draining, but then all of a sudden, she started nursing on a more regular pattern, every 3-4 hours. the constant nursing really does boost up your supply. if your baby is gaining weight, i say just go with it!!! it'll be over before you know it. hang in there. it gets better & much easier...i know everyone says that--but it's true!!

cmg08 - Monday, 22 September Hey hon!!! How are you doing? I am good. I do not know if I told you how cute your little one is and congratulations! I have also had my baby boy. He was born on the 13th. I have posted pictures and stuff so definitly take a look when you have a minute. Again congratulations and I look forward to hearing from you.
mommyxs3 - Monday, 22 September Your body makes what baby "asks" for. Pumping doesnt sustain the amount he needs but will keep your body making milk. As long as your little one nurses and is content, gaining weight, and has plenty of diapers I wouldn't worry. They can always "milk" more out of us than the pump ever could. :o)
