I am in florida and he is Indiana with his dad. He is very torn because he really needs to be with his dad right now and I am trying to be strong and tell him I'm OK because I don't want him to feel stressed about me.

If you don't want c-section call around your local chriopractors and ask if they do the Webster Technic. If they do make an appointment right away. This technic is supposed to turn the baby within 24 hours.

I know exactly what you mean. A shower should be something refreshing and it ends up being a lot of drama. Its like, "aren't we supposed to be celebrating me here?" Don't get too blown and like you said, this will be the last shower you are involved in for a while! I know it will be for me too!!!

Good luck mama!

Girl...You have every right to be pissed. I would just tell her you can't pay for it give a certain amount towards it. She needs to be more considerate of you as a friend before taking it on herself to do all this. If she had to pay for it by herself would she??? It's always easier to spend somebody else's money.

I know, right? It was the early u/s they did that determined it, which I've heard is really accurate.....but I'm like, that does seem way too far! At least I hope so! :)

Your baby shower story sounds EXACTLY like by bridal shower story!!! Its crazy how people "offer" to throw things for your and then present everyone else with a bill. I ended up taking over my bridal shower after I saw the ridiculous 800$ bill my "friend" was charging everyone and guess what...she's not speaking to me now. So I guess it wasn't about me as much as her throwing this fabulous party!

Me and Hubby are throwing are own baby shower, at the house and using the extra money for the baby.

well as of right now I am unsure, he "says" he is trying to keep my job, but I now look at it as if he lets me go it really is his loss, I have been the only one here for 2 yrs, I've seen this office through our very 1st pt...and as he is starting to realize that I really do know everything about this office...but I have made my resume, because I know that I deserve a better paying job, with benifits, so I will be looking for a new job on leave, however I do believe that he realized that he wont find another MA like me, I've never called off work, even with all this! So we will see I stopped worrying about it, because my lil one is fighting way to hard, I cannot believe all the improvements that he has gone through! I am a very proud momma already!

Well, an epidural blocks the nerve receptors "down there" so you don't feel the pain of the contractions, but without nerve signals, you may find it hard to even get up and go to the bathroom afterward, let alone shower and clean up. Some ladies are quite debilitated by the needle. And the "gas and air" option can leave you groggy for the arrival of your newborn, and that's not good. Also if you haven't gone through the pain, your body won't have released the adrenaline and endorphins that give you energy and calmness after the birth - they give you a natural "high" that helps you heal physically, and psychologically/spiritually and to bond with your new baby. I'm not saying you should necessarily avoid the pain meds - labor does hurt and if you chose to use them no-one should criticize you for it, but there are real advantages to going without.

Hey there. Just reading your week-by-week post about birth with or without pain meds. My own experience has been that it wasn't so much a matter of me being strong enough to refuse them, as that I was terrified of using something that I knew could harm my baby. It's the transition phase of labor that's really hard, but just when you're sure you can't possibly survive another contraction, there's only one more and your beautiful child will be born. The relief and calmness of that moment is indescribable. Try and go with meditation (not medication) and deep relaxation techniques and remember, we are woman, we can do this. You will survive. Hang in there and it will all be fine.

Family Glitters & Comments

Thanx for your reply on 'organizing' - I stay in SA and I'm struggling to get those draws. We have - but mostly for the office (paper use). I think they are a lovely Idea. Thanx.

When You have completed your nursery, please put up a pic so i can see. We were going to design a nursery and bought the paint and everything - and then decided against it. We only have a three bedroom place and my husband is using one room for his office and the other room is for guests. Baba will sleep in our room for the mean time - but the her clothes will be in a seperate cupboard. by the time she needs more space we can get a bigger place (4-5 bedrooms). I would love to see what your nursery is going to look like.

Anyway - have a lovely day and once again - thank you for your reply.
