carlybarleyx - Monday, 20 October I did enjoy doing it, but it got to the point where I was dreading him waking up for a feed and crying throughout a feed. Birth was very hard, but arent they all? I feel like I'm making a bit of a big deal of it. How is Ava doing? What does she weigh now? Theo was 12lb 10 days ago, I dread to think what he is now! xxx
achance2dream - Monday, 20 October Sorry I don't have a facebook...just a myspace.
Any advice since you are already a mommy?! Anything I need to be ready for or prepared for or just any advice? Can't believe my little man will be here this week! You need more pics of Ava she is just too cute!!
ozbaby - Monday, 20 October Sorry i didnt reply yesterday. We had a fault in our phone lines so the phone and internet were down until about an hour ago! I am also getting the exact same thing in my left breast! The bottom feels all bruised and i get this weird pain in my nipple when she feeds. Its like a pinching pain like when i first started and she was not latched right but i know she is latched right.. Strange. I got the nipple pain before the sore boob. If you work out what it is ket me know. Ive had the bruising before and io think that is a blocked milk duct. I have been feeding her that side first each feed to help unblock it and it is feeling a little better. Ill keep doing that until it is clear and not sore anymore. Ive had it once before. Not sure what the nipple pain is. Strange we have it at the same time too! Emi will be 6 months at Christmas so i will start then too. I cant wait to feed her...
~NyMom - Sunday, 19 October By the way.. you can also apply breast milk to your nipples.. breast milk has awesome healing powers... My pain went away within 2 months.. and now breast feeding is a breeze my baby is 6 months.. I believe the baby's saliva may be the issue because saliva is acidic and may be doing a number to your nippies... If pain continues see your doc to rule out thrush.. I thought I had it but when seeing the doc she told me no I did not and baby did not as well.. just my paranoia when looking up reasons for the pain on the internet and I came up with the "thrush" whew glad I did not experience that.. hope you feel better soon
~NyMom - Sunday, 19 October lizzie287- Make sure you continue to apply your breast cream lanolin ( I have used lansinoh brand and it is wonderful) I had pain when I first began breast feeding my little one for 2 months.. make sure you rinse your nipples with a wet bath cloth.. this will remove the baby's saliva from your nipples since your nipples are sensitive.. to take away the pain use a 50/50 rinse of vinegar and water.. put the solution in a spray bottle or small container of your choice and store it in the fridge.. after nursing spray and apply the solution to your nipples ..let it air dry than rinse with a wet bath cloth to remove traces of vinegar so the baby does not associate bad taste with her nursing session.. this worked for me when I had pain.. I did not have thrush and the baby did not have it as well ..it was just that I had overly sensitive nipples and eventually it got better... also nurse laying down... when you are home nurse laying down this relieves pressure off of the painful areas on your breast.. hope this helps I understand the pain ;0)
angelag3girls - Sunday, 19 October lizzie- a 50-50 solution of plain vinegar and water helped me with the pain. They also say that grapefruit seed extract mixed with water can get rid of thrush. I tried them and they both helped but I don't think any was strong enough to get rid of my thrush. If you needed something from a doc tho these things might keep them under control until you can get in. And none of them have to be wiped off before feeding. I ended up having to get nystatin ointment from my doc that only has to be wiped off before feeding not washed. Hope you get to feeling better soon
emsfirstbebe - Sunday, 19 October thanks! I feel so bad, she gets them at least 5-6 times a day. She hiccuped ALOT in my belly and I was told she'd probably continue to do it once she was born. Weird huh?
Your baby is beautiful, she came 4 days before mine!
ozbaby - Saturday, 18 October EVERYTHING goes straight into her mouth. She has her hands in her mouth 100% of the time she is awake. I cant wait until she finally cuts her teeth. As long as she doesnt bite me when i feed her! I was thinking of getting a nursing necklace to keep her focused but was worried she would be so busy playing with that she will forget to eat! Luckily she doesnt try and take me with her when she looks around! OUCH. She comes off and just stared at me. If i say "drink your milk" she goes back on every time which is a bit cute. She doesnt stay on but hey she makes me laugh! I think it is just their age as heaps of mums have posted about it. I hope she gains this week as she seems to not be drinking as much at feed times so it willo be interesting to see tomorrow. Are you going to start solids at 4 months or 6 months?
Things are going really well over this side of the world. Feeding has been going well although she has just started to get distracted while feeding lately. She will drink, play, look at her hands, drink etc. She has found her hands and thinks they are very fascinating. She is grabbing things and putting them straight into her mouth. Someties even my shirt while im trying to feed her. It is cute to watch her discover that she can do things. We have her 2nd lot of needles on Monday so im not looking forward to that! I plan to stay home all day after so hopefully she will be as good as she was the first time. How is everything with you and Ava?
achance2dream - Wednesday, 15 October I am going to be induced next Wednesday! My blood pressure is still bouncing around so he has got to come out. I am beyond excited...waiting for the nerves to hit me...
Oh man did you bring me some thanksgiving food?!! Sounds SO yummy! Why aren't you going to see your mom until after the winter? I bet your mom loved seeing Ava!! Wow I swear everytime you write she is a month older haha!
AChance2Dream - Monday, 13 October Well they almost induced me Friday!! My blood pressure was high so they sent me to the hospital to monitor it but it stayed normal so they released me. They want me to come in tomorrow to check it again so we will see! We went and got the carseat so I am good to go now haha! I think I jinxed myself because I kept saying how I didn't want to be induced unless it is medically needed haha.So we will see tomorrow how high my blood pressure is and what they want to do...Im kind getting anxious!
AChance2Dream - Wednesday, 8 October I am feeling really good! I have some pains and I am still a swollen whale but I feel really good for being almost 37 weeks! I have my days where I can't wait to get him out but I know he will come when he comes so I am not rushing anything (unless I go past my due date hehe)I am crossing my legs this weekend though because we have to go pick up our stoller/carseat and we have our birthing classes this weekend so he needs to stay in there until Monday at least!!!
Goodness I need a vacation! Next time I am coming with you haha. Everytime you remind me how old she is it takes me aback to how fast time goes by!! 2 and a half months!!!! HOLY COW!! She seems like a fast learner and like she is doing really well! Watch next week you are going to be telling me she is trying to walk haha! Little bugger!

Hi there,
I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.
We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.
If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.
