ya a friend of mine looked after about 8 kids and she made way more money doing that than going back to work! but that's an exception I suppose, 8 kids is a lot!
I know a lady who has 5 kids of her own and looks after 3 others and she lives in a relatively small apartment - i guess it depends on the company you go through and what their standards are.... but then i would look into seeing if you can do it independantly so you don't have to share your money with anyone!

me? i've been feeling rather cranky!! I am training my DOLT of a replacement which makes me want to scream! Based on her resume and her experience, training SHOULD have been a BREEZE, but she's the type of person that wants to know everything now and then fails to retain the information because she gets so ahead of herself..... it was PAINFUL for me to have to go into work every day last week for 4 hours each day and now I still have to go over EVERYTHING i did with her in person by phone... she had the AUDACITY to get mad at me and ARGUE with me about how and why she's doing things WRONG!!! How about, you need to look at your notes (the few that you took), go over the training powerpoints i spent FOREVER on, go slowly, read my friggin instructions when I give them to you and bloody well LEARN what to do!!!!! OH MY GOD! who in their right mind gets into an argument with their trainer 2 weeks into the job???!!!! It's so infuriating because I am wasting time on her when I have to complete a project I'm working on for them BEFORE i give birth and there's so little time left!!! ok. breath. ok. i'm breathing... venting session over! LOL

on top of being uncomfortable and ready to explode my feet and hands are swollen all the time now and i am dropping shit all over the place!! it's like my fingers just can't get a good hold on anything! lol
geeeeeeeeeez........ i am ready for all of this to be behind me! i am so ready to not think about work anymore, to not stress about this condo/moving anymore, to not have this pain anymore.... and just have no other distractions so i can looooove on my child! i know i know... it'll be all over soooooon!!! :)

and btw, the prenatal class we did was B.S.!! such a waste of money and precious time!

That is so awesome!! Like I said before I am going to try and breastfeed but honestly I don't know if I will be comfortable doing it so we will see... Awww is that what you call her?...your little monkey?

Wow it seems like you had her maybe 2 weeks ago!! How time flies!!

I am fine. I see my doctor on friday so I hope they have more answers for me then. I just hate how they act like I was only spotting when it was A LOT of blood that I lost. Like imagine the worst day of your period all at once...it was EVERYWHERE. They didn't even tell me to do anything different...like to take it easy or anything. Who knows my little man seems to be doing fine so that is all that matters to me!!! I might see if they will do an ultra sound just to make sure my placenta is all in tact and not trying to serperate or anything. Other than that I am a BIG SWOLLEN WHALE haha

finally came to the point where I know what woman are talking about when they say they can't wait to be done haha

oh buddy, that sucks! well actually it's good since it caused you so much strife and no one gets paid enough to deal with such stresses! that is so crappy though that you got totally jipped out of your christmas vacation... but you know, better to deal with the stress of having to find a new job that you know you'll like better than to be totally stressed out and hAting your current job! ...
just be with ava and love it up and live it up with her while you can, stress free :)
maybe just before your mat leave ends you can advertise your home care services and see if you get any bites..? just a thought :)

Everything is going really well. No feeding problems lately which is bliss. She is feeding every 2 hours this week so i think we are having a growth spurt. She is feeding every 3-4 at night too instead of the 8-9 hours i was getting used to! But that is babies for you. She is growing well and is still a little tiny piece of nothing but she is gaining each week and is long. How is everything with you? No problems i hope. I ahve already started my Christmas shopping as i am not at work so i need to be porganised. Emerson is done and now i have to buy for the other 2. I had my new timber floors installed on the weekend so my house feels like new. The girls rooms are getting dont this weekend so after then i have my house done. So excited as i ordered the floors before Emi was born and wanted it all done before i had her....

hey omg this week has been insanely busy... i am so freakin tired and sore.. wah! thanks for sharing your thoughts on vacs i'll definitley look into what you suggested for further reading...

saw midwife yesterday who thankfully said the little man is head down now, so that excites me! i was concerned he wouldn't turn because of my hips... so as long as everything goes smoothly, water birth here we come!!

we get to have our inspection of our new place this friday... yaaay, get to see the place for the first time, i'm so excited!!

anyhoo, hope you're well... i gotta get moving, so much to do in so little friggin time!

One question I have that you man be able to help me with... I read it is good to breastfeed exclusively at first then go to bottle so you can get the milk supply going. How long do you need to exclusively breast feed?

Ug I already REALLY don't want to come back to work after the baby!! I wouldn't mind going back part time but nothing full time like I am now! I wish I would have maternity leave for that long...I only get 8 weeks!!! And I don't even know of I get paid or not...I guess I should find that out soon!

I just want to make sure I have everything for when little Paxton comes so I hope he sits tight for a little longer!

I am pretty sure they are just practice ones, they hurt but don't get any worse. Sometimes moving around makes them worse and they last a long time...like I had them all day Friday but like I said they never get worse. Haha I just want my little man to stay in there for a little while longer. I havent gotten everything together yet so he needs to just bake a little longer

Oh im glad you have more time with your little princess. I have also decided not to go back to work for now. I will have to at some stage but i will stay home while we can affors it. When we cant afford to pay bills or eat then i will think about it again. I just love being home with her and enjoying her smiles and gurgles and i know how quickly they grow and i wont get this time again while she is so small. I have a sling but havent used it yet, I will start trying her in it this week as it would make life easier when im out and about and dont have to lug the pram with me.

lol funny girl! you don't need to worry about offending me, everyone is entitled to their own opinion however strong it is!! it's in how you "deliver" the opinion that matters! ;) lolol
i would love your thoughts though if want to share :)

we did a little bit, nothing major... she loved the one midwife we have in common, and i like her alot too, she's very sweet, kind and nurturing, and best of all unintrusive :) she likes to educate you on all your options during pregnancy and birth but won't influence your decision at all which i like... the other midwife i have (we get two + a trainee) is more agressive with her opinions and what she feels you should do or not...

yeah we tried for interesting, "cool", seldom used names with character... so it is an interesting list isn't it?! i just can't wait to see him and to find out who he is!!
i think he just went through a growth spurt too.. it was like i could feel him growing every second of the day for the past couple of days.. my belly just stretched out and is Uber heavy now (wah) and all of a sudden his feet are popping out of my belly, he's giving me some wicked jabs too! i woke up for a bathroom run and must have woke him up in the process because when i went back to bed he was rolling and squirming trying find a good position again and he seriously kicked me in the ribs at least 4 times back to back! little bugger! ;p

I am in so much pain right now...I can't tell if I am having BH contractions or real ones...I have been having them for a little over an hour and my back is killing me. They are giving me chills and when I get up tp walk or anything I want to throw up.

What does the real deal feel like?
