mamabare30 - Friday, 12 September lol! you make me laugh... no, i'm not allowed to have River, but he likes Keifer! I like it and think it's cool and all but it always makes me think of heffer!! Anyway, the list so far is Sebastian, Kristian, Keifer, Levi and Seth... I'm partial to Seth because for some reason that name keeps being whispered to me in my thoughts and has been for months, but it's taken me a while to come to terms with it! Anyway, it could be one of two ways: Seth Kristian Bare or Seth Falkon Bare Kristian because it's Evan's first name using the Scandinavian spelling. And Falkon because that honours my Norwegian heritage. If it's not Seth we'll most likely settle on Sebastian because we've both equally liked this name from the beginning... The others are there just in case and they're the only ones we both liked enough!
awe i don't think i can stand doing the shots... geez, i'd sob like a baby too! i haven't done enough research yet but there's a ton of debate out there about whether or not the shots are even worth while, medical health pros and cons and such... i don't have an opinion on it just yet but man, if i determine that they're necessary that'll be one dreadful day! sigh.
i found a woman on kijiji who coincidentally lives super close to me and used the same midwife clinic to birth her 3 kids, who is selling her birthing pool (unused!) so i'll be picking that up tomorrow morning... woohoo! having that in my posession is making this all the more real! and then my diapers will come next week.....
AChance2Dream - Friday, 12 September Goodness is that how long she has been home already?!?!?! Do you think she looks more like you or the hubby? Is the breastfeeding working out for you yet? Some days I can't wait for my little one to be here because I see your little one and other days I want him to bake a little longer haha! I guess he will come when he comes.
I am good! My baby shower is next weekend so I am excited for that even though I don't think anyone is really going haha...oh well I had this dream last night...I had my little man but I kept forgetting about him. Like I would be like oh crap I haven't feed him since yesterday or I haven't changed his diaper in two days...or just in general I would forget about him and try and go out and then I would be like oh the baby I have to get him. I had this dream twice last night. It was so strange!! I hope I don't forget about my little man haha
ozbaby - Friday, 12 September oh you poor thing!! I know how silk i felt about it when it was our turn and she was pretty good. You must be feeling awful. I think it upsets us more than the babys most of the time. At least they forget pretty quick. I was even tepmted to take my mum so she could hold her and then i could cuddle her after. But i ended up going alone. Give her lots of cuddles and love tonight. And thank goodness it is another 2 months before you have to go back...
mamabare30 - Friday, 12 September oh yeah, getting closer and closer! just made the order for my diapers today so we'll have them next week...and trying to purchase my birthing pool so hopefully that will work out in the next day or two... i can't believe how close it is... i'm trying to get through this bible sized book knowing i won't have time or peace and quiet enough to read when he gets here.... annnd getting closer on settling on a name.... phew so many more things to do but it feels good just getting the big things out of the way :) how's things on your end?
ozbaby - Thursday, 11 September Emerson went really well with her needles. I gave her panadol before we went and fed her while we were there straight after and by the time she finished feeding she was smiling at me. She had a sore leg but other than that it didnt unsettle her at all. Good luck though. It is a horrible job to take them for the needles. Breaks your heart knowing they are going to get hurt.
ozbaby - Wednesday, 10 September Maybe she is just having a growth spurt? They do that when they are increasing your supply so it will happen every few months. Can you try and start wearing her in the sling now so by the time you gp back to work she is used to it? Maybe start for an hour or so and work up. I know the sling i bought you can actually breastfeed in so you could try that and kill two birds with one stone. We have no feeding problems at the moment( hard to believe) but she has gone from pooing once every 4 to 5 days to pooping almost every nappy change! And she is clever and poos out of her nappy and all over whatever she is wearing!
ozbaby - Wednesday, 10 September Hi. I weighed Emerson yesterday and she has gained 270 grams this past week!!! I was so happy. So now she is long and getting a little chub! How is Avas weight gain? Are you having a better time feeding?
ozbaby - Tuesday, 9 September Hi. I weighed Emerson yesterday and she has gained 270 grams this past week!!! I was so happy. So now she is long and getting a little chub! How is Avas weight gain? Are you having a better time feeding?

ElliottnDeclans-mummy - Sunday, 7 September Thanks very much Lizzie. Everybody has been so helpful in their responses to my post. Wow 6 weeks and you finally got to where you wanted to be. I hope if I have that problem I have the determination to perservere - good on you, I'm pleased it worked out for you in the end. After all the advice I have gotten of you and other ladies this week end I have decided that breast feeding is definately the way I want to go. I'm going to give it my best shot and try not to worry. As I said in the forum I want my little one to have the best that I can give them and as the saying goes "Breast is Best!"
ama-llama - Sunday, 7 September Yeah, I tried to refuse him once, was going to make him go cold turkey until he took the damn boobs! He went a good 7 hours only taking 2 oz then it was bed time and he was ready to sleep without eating . It freaked me out so I gave in . Thing is he s never been a good big eater . Now we struggle to get 3oz in him , hes USUALLY only on the breast avergae 10 mins sometimes more sometimes less (with nipple sheild) He will skip feeds and guzzle 1 or so oz to make satisfy his hunger then not be too interested in continuing. We ended up in the ER this week because he was crying so much he skipped 2 feeds . I guess hes just a baby that doesnt need to eat much, but at this point its just a matter of getting the food in him any way possible! Between 2-4 weeks I was constantly fighting with him to take the (sheilded) breast that I just got too upset by it and he got himself so worked up he wouldnt even eventually take a bottle , so now he fusses at the breast I just give him a bottle, its actually easier and we both dont end up in tears. I dont know, maybe Im being too soft. Maybe I should try again but I just feel like uless I remind him he needs to eat he wont
ozbaby - Sunday, 7 September I can imagine. It can be uncomfortable when you know your breast is full. I have noticerd a few times that when she finishes she hasnt drained me properly and it feels weird. Doesnt happen often though. Its my Bday today so we are off to mums for luch and home made bday cake. mmm I look forward to one day squirting someone with my stray milk ha ha
ama-llama - Saturday, 6 September Hello! So it sounds like you are fairing better with your feeding situation.- thats awesome!... Im still pumping and giving bottles for about half of his feeds. So tell me your secrets!! Did you just refuse to give her bottles and make her nurse? Did she put up much of a fight? Ive tried this and Hunter skips feeds.. like several in a row, it freaks me out . Hes still fussy even with the bottle a few feeds a day... oh I cant WAIT for the 3-4 month mark!!
ozbaby - Saturday, 6 September oooh im jealous of your chair... That would have come in very handy when Emi was taking an hour to feed back at the start. Have you tried changing the postition you hold her to feed on the left side? Maybe she is not comfortable or you are too engorged and she cant latch? I would put her on that side first time each feed so she has more chance of taking it when she is really hungry. You can hand express if your engorged, lots of people use that method and dont have a pump. I would buy a pump though as you dont want your supply to drop on that side. Not even sure if that can happen but i assume it could. I have never sprayed yet. I would love to be huge and spray everywhere and have loads of milk. Even on the motilium tablets after a feed i can only express about 60 mls from both sides combined. im trying to get some frozen so if im out dad can feed her something but it is a slow process.
MonikaOH - Saturday, 6 September i am happy for you. I had pain balls many times (the worst ones are at work...)
MonikaOH - Saturday, 6 September Hand expressing is not enough to neither keep supply not prevent clogs. If you don't wnt to pump offer this breast when baby is very hungry. Good luck!
ozbaby - Saturday, 6 September yeah there is not much more you can do than that. I tried putting her in my bed and feeding lying down yesterday and this morning but i could not doze off while she was eating and it was not overly comfortable. I usually sit on the lounge and watch tv while she feeds, we are now up, fed and back to bed in 1/2 an hour these days. It used to be an hour when she was little and that was just the feeding time! I would love a feeding chair but just dont have the room for one.
ozbaby - Saturday, 6 September Sounds like our kids have swapped getting to sleep. Hopefull yi wont have to rock her anymore, She is sleepy when i put her down though. Emerson has gone from pooping once every 5 days to twice a day! She poops out of her nappy. I just had to change her entire clothes and the blanket that was in her rocker. Thank goodness there was one in there or she would have dirtied her chair! All week she has pooped twice a day. She is messy too so im going through so many full sets of clothes and my dryer os broken and its been raining here ALL week. So typical hey. How long is she up for at night? I dont talk to her when i feed her at night and i leave the house pretty dark so she knows its night time. Do you talk to her ans stimulate her ? Maybe that would help to get her to stay sleepy?
