We are pregnant with our second child! I did not expect to get pregnant on the first try! If you can really call it trying. Wow, can this really by happening? My husband and I had our two year anniversary on Sunday. It was on our anniversary that I took the home pregnancy test and was very surprised by the positive result. I got light headed and started shaking. I was excited and nervous. Saturday I had been feeling nauseated, dizzy with a headache, and had been having mild cramping for a few days. Since I had been feeling a little 'off' I had realized it was possible, but I really thought that maybe I was just coming down with an illness...

I am nervous that I am once again not in as good of shape as I would like to be. I had been running 2-3x/week but had stopped about a month and a half before i found out I am pregnant. I exercised that very night in the living room and went running on Monday! I am planning to run as long as possible through this pregnancy and walk when I get too uncomfortable. I gained 42 pounds with my last pregnancy. I lost all but a couple pounds of that weight, but it was slower to come off than I would like. I also feel weak and flabby. I have learned in my classes that a fit woman that continues to exercise thoughout her pregnancy and afterwards takes only about 9 weeks to lose the weight while it takes a sedentary woman 9 months to drop the weight gained. I hope I can keep myself motivated this time around!!! I quit walking around 7 months last time. My goal is to gain 25-30 pounds with this pregnancy. I just fit back into my normal clothes! Darn! But here we go again!

I will be graduating with my BS degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Chemistry this December. My husband is also graduating with the same degree (we met in class).

Just since we are all pregnant or TTC or mothers I may make comments that otherwise might be considered too open.

Though I have complained about the adversities of pregnancy (I did NOT enjoy it last time), I feel great about having another child! Kayley, now 11 months, has enriched our lives. She brings unexpected joy to my personal life, my marriage, and also happiness and unity to our extended family on both sides! She is amazing. She has the best sense of humor (she is hilarious and loves to make us laugh).

First of all congrats on baby #2. I am glad you emntioned on the 12 month board about your daughternot walking. Megan is not either (she is only a week younger). Basically it has me worried sick and jealous of all the babies younger than her walking cirlces around her.

isn't it awful. not that they can do too much before then but still is nice to try and get a heartbeat. i will be seeing a midwife. i had an appt with a dr/midwife office yesterday and i decided i wanted to see a more natural kind of midwife so i had to cancel that and i hated to do it. thankfully with the holidays the time should go fast.

Hi Lyssie, tomorrow is the day I tell my husband that we're expecting baby #2! It's been so hard to not tell him. The other day he came in from working and said, "That's what I like to see, my wife in the kitchen barefoot, 2 out of 3 ain't bad." Meaning the 3rd would be if I was pregnant, I had to turn away from him and smile! Wish me luck tomorrow!

Hi Lyssie, I have a 1 year old son, and I too was just fitting into my jeans perfectly when I found out I was pregnant again on Oct. 23. I haven't told my husband yet. I'm trying to figure out how to surprise him with the news on our 4th wedding anniversary on Nov. 6. If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them! PS-Are you as concerned as I am about carrying a toddler around when you're 7-9 months pregnant? I guess we'll just do it like every other mama out there! Best wishes!
