Hi Manda,
saw Liz (my midwife) yesterday, she had heard from the hospital but I still haven't. She said that I have an appointment on the 6th march and that she was surposed to send me for a scan at 36 weeks just before i go to app. After checking her chart she realised that she can't send me for the scan that they want, and she realised that if she sent me i'd have to pay again (scans are subsidised but you still have to pay about $40). So she was going to ring them today to challenge it and tell them that they need to sort out a scan for me. I got the cd of images afetr the last scan and whn looking through them i came across a page of all the measurements of lumpy so I took a copy for Liz and she is going to chart Lumpy's growth so she can figure out exactly what percential the measurements are.
Have decided that a good name for your baby would be Mint. What do you think...Mint Bailey, has a nice ring and aroma.
Well I better go, have to make up a bed for megan and sort some shorts for Jim I got in the wrong size. Hope all is well with you and Justin. How you feeling, getting any worse/ better?
Lots of love Helen

Hi Manda,
Tomatoes? Thats so funny! I like them to and have weeks where I eat heaps of them but for me i think it's because sometimes I don't know what else to eat, everything i would usually eat is on 'the list'. So who was the mid wife you went to see, was it the one I recommended? Are you meeting with her?
Not much happening here at the moment, Jim doing a road trip from invercargil to blenhuim this week. He is staying here tonight on the way through but will miss our second antenatal class, hoping he doesn't miss to many.
Had Kaye down over the weekend, was great to see her. We went shopping got some cool stuff for Jim as can't really shop for me at the moment.
Megan and her wee boy Matiu are staying here on thursday so guess i'll have kind of a busy week. Jim and work colleauge tonight, midwife app and antenatal on wed M and M thursday and the usual friday take aways with em.
Em doing well, Nik back from Afganistan for a few days, he goes to linton on thursday then flys back to afganistan in a month for 6 months. Em's gonna need lots of support, love and pancakes for the next wee while. So glad we are close to her so we can give her all the support she needs.
Well better go as have to go to work at 12 and have some jobs to do.
Talk soon, Love Helen and Lumpy xx

Hi Manda, and Kahlua...I like, very funny. Bet Katie was surprised and happy.
I'm gonna have a chat to my midwife on wednesday about what she recommends, do I need to finish work early, am I pushing myself to hard etc. Anything that needs to happen will be a top priority. In the mean time I am trying not to think about it to much, just keep trucking while everything is normal. Hope all is well with you guys, got any plans for the weekend. Kaye is down so hoping to catch up with her and Jim is off to invercargil on sunday night as he is doing a meet and greet run from there to nelson this coming week, will just be Max and I at home. Jim must love going away now as he would have way better sleeps at night...it's hard to get comfy these days. I don't mind it either as I can take up the whole bed and toss and turn till my hearts content. Talk soon, Love Helen

Hi Manda,
I was taking it all ok till I looked the condition up on the sight and read it out to Jim...scary! Had a wee moment last night, and feel ok about it again today, just have to wait to see what happens next, when appointment with specialist is etc. I guess you guys have got some big things to think about, I know it must be over whelming but I don't thin there is ever an easy or right time for this. Hang in there and enjoy the ride. Justin will just have to put dreams of a big screnn tv on hold for now, but it's not the end of the world.
You probably won't have to see the doctor now unless you get sick like normal or your midwife tells you there is something to get checked out. You will meet with your midwife every four weeks till your 28 weeks and then every 2 weeks until your 36 weeks and then every week until your are 40 weeks and if you go over you may meet everyday. She will become the person to look after you unless you want to pay for a specialist or there is need to refer you in which case the care is free. But in the mean time if you are worried about anything just go to the doctor...anything pregnancy related is free of charge.
Cool picture, showed Jim that you were on here. We did have such a nice time camping didn't we, was nice and so relaxing...just lazing about reading books...bliss. Jim asked the other night if this was a Makatu baby, I did the math and said no, a post holiday baby. He's so funny. Well I'm going shopping with emma soon so should go. Am also washing the baby clothes just in case I end up having a drama and baby comes early or something like that. Take care, hope all your fuzzies are well, Love Hels

Hey chick, how's work going, hope you have a good group this year. First I have a tip for you. Your update will get lost under other messages so you can write the same blurb and click the update for my page option above text box, so that it goes under your profile....I did the same thing myself the first time.
Went for my follow up scan today, then the midwife rang me tonight with the results. The synographer gave her bugger all info on baby just said that baby's growth is somewhere between the 50th percential and the 90th percential...thats like saying there is a 50% chance of rain, all that means is if 10 things fall from the sky 5 of them will be wet. What I have found out however is that I now have polyhydramnios which means I have to much amnio fluid around the baby. I looked it up on this sight and it was a bit doom and gloom. The midwife wasn't to worried but I am going to be refered to am obstetrition at the hospital, she thinks it will take between 1 and 2 weeks for an appointment depending on what sort of priority they think I am. Not to worried at this stage, will panic when they tell methere is cause for alarm, you know me, I never do anything by halfs. So when are you going to put up a photo. Know mines a bit old, but I think it's a nice photo of Jim and I. It was taken at Andy and Claud's wedding. We are coming up to Wellington for Queen's birthday weekend to have baby baptised in our old church by Mark our old pastor. He was such a big part of my life and he married us so can't think of anyone I'd rather have preform this for us and our child. Well better go, House is on and I'm missing all the good bits. Love Helen

Hi
It has been a week now since I first suspected I might be pregnant and took a simple pregnancy test that changed everything! Two days and a doctors visit later, we got the positive blood test results back. Wow! We were a little in shock the first few days, but are now feeling pleased and excited. There are lots of things to worry about of course, but have decided to try to take things one step at a time. Was quite nauseas all day every day last week and pretty much existed on apples and carrot sticks. I have been very achy and a little tired, but it has not been too bad so far really. I start back at work tomorrow, so am hoping that my symptoms will continue to be as manageable as they are now. But if not, I might just have to let someone into the loop so that I have a bit of support. My main worry at the moment is choosing a midwife and getting to grips with what I can or cannot eat, and how that will effect my usual diet. My partner Justin and I have been engaged for a year now and this will just make this year even busier. There is lots to do! :-)

Yeah, I think it's a great resource, reading week by week the first trimester is very cool, it's amazing whats going on inside when you don't have anything to show for it. I also love looking at everyone's belly shots as it makes you realise that everyone carries differently, I don't feel like such a heffer, I think I'm semi normal when I see others the same as me. It's cool to find other NZers on here to. Well have been mucking around all morning so I had better go and start doing something useful. Have fun, Love to all the fuzzies, the red one included.

HeeHee Manda, found you, you'll have lots of fun on here. It's great to chat to other people and find that what your going through is normal, even when it doesn't feel normal. How exciting. Hells
