Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

YEA!!!!! I'm soooo happy for you - - your family is incredibly blessed! It's wonderful to hear that everything went well and I'd love to chat when you have the time (yah, right?!). Take care and hope to hear from you soon...Angi :)

Things are getting better! Benjamin has been helping out by sleeping 5-6 hours at a stretch at night (I swear by tight swaddling - it worked for his big sis, too!) so I'm getting a little bit of rest...thank goodness for that. Where is your sweet Baby Girl?!?! I guess she's just like a typical woman - taking her sweet time, making everyone wait for her! She's probably already here so when you get a minute, let me know what's what...talk with you soon!

Ah, the fundal height thing - I think they've given up measuring me anymore because of this ginormous (is that even a word?!) baby. They haven't measured me the last three times I've been at the office. Granted, I've been in more than usual because of all of the contractions, etc, but I know the last couple of times that I've been measured I've been 3 and 4 weeks ahead (3 or 4cm). I guess because of my trouble with internals, I was so happy they didn't do one yesterday - I was 2cm dialated last week and that's all I need to know! When are they going to check you? I would think they would've done at least one by now because of how far along you are. Very weird! You HAVE to keep me posted this weekend so I'll know if your hubby was right. And if not, then maybe you will join me on Tuesday and we can get on with the real work! Keep in touch when you have a chance...
Take care,
Angi

AngiS - Friday, 23 May
Well, at least you're 2cm! Only 8 more to go - yea!! You meant your cervix, right? If you didn't, then I don't know what your doc meant either! :) Had my last appointment this morning. They did another NST for some reason - maybe because the baby is big and they wanted to make sure he's moving well and that his heartbeat is still strong, etc? No internal, thank God! My MW told me that my OB would do my section tomorrow if I wanted and I was like "no thanks". I'm mentally prepared for next Tuesday (kind of) and still have so much to do (and don't want to be in the hospital over a holiday weekend). MW will be in town all weekend and my OB is on-call so if I did happen to go early at least I'd have people I'm familiar with taking care of me! Hope everything else is going well for you. Same old, same old here - having some crampy contractions and watching my feet swell to unnatural proportions (AND waiting for Tuesday). My parents will be here Sunday for a week so that will be nice. Are you doing anything special this weekend? Talk with you soon!

AngiS - Thursday, 22 May
I think we're pregnancy twins! The same thing is happening with me...had an easy, uncomplicated pregnancy with my daughter, but this one has been anything but. I mean, nothing horrible has happened (thank God), but it's just been different and not in a good way. Ella was, and still is, a great child. She was an easy baby - ate well, slept well, woke up happy every day, etc. and I've often wondered if this baby is going to be the opposite, too! My dad thinks that I won't hit the jackpot twice so it'll be interesting to see what happens...at least if our seconds are not as good as our firsts, we had a taste of the good life for awhile, right?! Keep me posted...hope to hear from you soon!

AngiS - Tuesday, 20 May
I've been wondering about the whole Karma thing, too, so I've been trying not to jinx myself by talking about how many stretch marks I DON'T have. I guess I should just keep my mouth shut, huh? You are so brave to order a bikini - I'd die if I had to put one on in the next six months! We went on vacation when I was four months pregnant and it was the first time that I didn't wear a bikini...even with my first, I wore one on vacation when I was about six or seven months pregnant and I looked really cute. Yah, not this time - I felt like I had to tell anyone who would listen that I was pregnant (and not fat!). And it's so warm here with summer coming and I so will NOT be putting on a bikini any time soon (which sucks because we live by the ocean). What are you having done at your appointment on Thursday? Just a regular check-up? Let me know what happens...I'll keep my fingers crossed for this weekend as well!!! :)

AngiS - Tuesday, 20 May
It was okay - how was yours? Ella had a part in a recital for her Rhyme, Rhythm, & Motion class which was basically a bunch of 2 and 3 yr olds running around. Very fun - I laughed so hard I was crying! Didn't do much else though. Went for my last ultrasound yesterday morning (37wks/6days). The baby's gotten even more gigantic (if that's possible). The OB said that he's minimum 9lbs and that he's so big she couldn't fit all of him on the ultrasound screen at one time - she said she wouldn't be surprised that if I went until 5/27 that he could be 10lbs (and my due date isn't until 6/3). I said "well, because of the margin for error (statistically +/- .5lbs), isn't it possible that he could be smaller?" And she said "this is a really big baby - he actually might even be closer to 9.5lbs at this point." Why can't they just do my c-section now?! I don't think my skin can stretch any further at this point...then my mid-wife said "oh, yes it can!" Thanks a lot for that - I've survived two pregnancies without a single stretch mark (thanks to my mom & dad for the awesome skin genes) so I don't need to wake up tomorrow with a whole bunch of them! I have my pre-op labs tomorrow AM and then my section next Tuesday. My feet are still horribly swollen and it's getting more and more difficult to move around because of that and the baby's size (I'm so HUGE at this point). Hubby has been so wonderful - taking care of me and Ella and making sure that everything is still running smoothly with me on semi-bed rest. He works crazy long hours so I was a little worried when my MW said to "take it easy", but he's really stepped up to the plate and that's such a relief. Oh, well, only a week more to go and the baby will be here! Yea! How're you doing these days? Ready for the big event? Let me know when you have time... :)

AngiS - Friday, 16 May
Yes, internals are HORRIBLE and apparently I have a very prominent pelvic bone (no one told me this before, but now I've heard it twice in one week from two different nurses) which is why it makes it difficult for anyone to get in there! When I was in labor with Ella, my MW's internal hurt worse than any contraction I had. You guys have been so busy - - I'm jealous because I'm not supposed to be doing anything. I hate being told what to do, but every time I try to do anything, my feet swell even more and I feel horrible so I guess it's good advice, right? Bobby has been doing all of Ella's stuff with her which is nice to have the break, but also sad because I'm missing out, ya' know? We took Ella to the fair and circus last year, but just took still pics, no video. She had her rehearsal last night for her little people dance recital (they just did two short songs) and Bobby recorded it so at least I got to feel like I was there. About your DVD...that really sucks and the mood I've been in, I probably would've snapped! I read your post about your friend - - I'm so sorry for her. And she was far enough along that you would think she was in the clear so I guess I should be counting my blessings rather than complaining. It really does put things in perspective...I'll say a prayer for her and her family. Keep in touch when you have time!

*** I sent this to you this afternoon, but then it wasn't on your page so I don't know what happened! ***

Sorry I didn't write back sooner, but it's been a looonnnnggg two days! I started having regular contractions at 11:38pm on Tuesday. They were 5-7min apart to begin with, then went down to 3-4.5 minutes apart by around 4am. Called L & D at 4:15am and they were like "well, if you want to come in you can or you can wait". I had felt nauseous the whole time and been on the toilet a lot (nice!), but no water breaking or mucus plug. I waited until 7am to call my midwife (I have her cell #) and she told me to come into the office for an NST. I went in at 9am (still having contractions) and she did an internal (OUCH!) and I had dialated to 2cm. I think she wanted my OB to do the section, but he said he wanted to wait as long as possible because of the baby's lung development. They sent me over to L & D to do another NST (and another internal - I'm so sore now). I was still having contractions, but they had gone up to 7min apart and I didn't dialate any further so they sent me home (after giving me more of that antihistimine stuff to help me sleep/relax - only 1/4 the dose because it didn't sit well with me last time). Went to MW this morning and they said that since everything had calmed down, to not do anything. Just stay in bed. So basically I'm crabby, exhausted, and frustrated (on the way to the OB's I had a mad case of road rage and I'm usually not like that when I drive!). I told them that if this baby wasn't so freakin' huge and if I wasn't having a c-section then I wouldn't have called anybody yesterday, I would've just waited, but I don't want to get into an emergency c-section situation, ya' know? MW said to come back Monday at 9:30am. Even if hubby is right about thinking I'm going to deliver on the 15th, I'm too tired and grumpy to have the baby today!! So sorry for the long post - - how are you doing today? Are you having any more contraction-like pains? I can totally empathize with what you're going through!! Write back when you're able and I'll be thinking about you guys...

cjlal - Thursday, 15 May
That is so sad. I can't even imagine what she must be going through.

cjlal - Thursday, 15 May
That is so sad to hear about your friend. What is wrong with the baby? I am finding around here that people seem to be having still borns. It really freaks me out. Escpecially since my doctor told me that the baby is big and that my body would not be able to handle her growing too much more and she is showing no signs of wanting to come out. I wish he would just induce me or something.

AngiS - Wednesday, 14 May
Hey - I'm kind of having the same problem with my due date...I know EXACTLY when my last period was and EXACTLY the day I had sex to conceive and they have my due date almost a week after what it should be. It's messed up my scheduled c-section which is supposed to be any time after 38 weeks, but because of Memorial Day and the doctor's inaccurate due date, I'll be having it when I'm 39 weeks (according to my calculations). It makes me kind of ticked, too, because I should be having this baby next Tuesday, not two weeks from today. But it's like they don't listen!! Very frustrating!! I'm feeling really cruddy tonight (no contractions or anything) - - just not myself. I know this sounds bad, but I have a hair appointment tomorrow so it would be great if the baby came on Thursday (my guy books six months out so I have to go when I'm scheduled or it's impossible to get in)!:) Have you had an ultrasound lately? I had one at 34 weeks and I'm having one this Thursday AM at my appointment. How're you doing tonight?

AngiS - Tuesday, 13 May
Cara, Lillian, Anna, and Lillianna were all on my short list of names with our first. We decided on "Ella" (which I told you before I love, love, love) and now I can't imagine her name being anything else! We call her "Elle" a lot. I think the name Calla is really pretty - - it reminds me of calla lilies which are such beautiful and delicate flowers! Would you use Reese as the middle name for all of the back-ups or are you thinking of something else? I was just thinking that this naming business shouldn't be this difficult! Do you have any appointments this week? I have one on Thursday at 9am which can't come soon enough for me...maybe tomorrow WILL be the lucky day for both of us!!!!

AngiS - Monday, 12 May
What's weird is that my husband thinks that I'm going to go this week, too (he's betting on the 15th)! If this was like my first pregnancy, I'd be having him this Wednesday so I've been trying to be ready for anything. With my daughter, I had the same thing happen to me as you did - wasn't sure if I was in "true labor" because everything in my pregnancy book was basically telling me that I wasn't. Well, contractions ended up being 2min apart for about an hour and when I got to the hospital they told me I was 5cm already and I wasn't going anywhere! So on Friday when I was having contractions like the first time, I called the hospital because I'd rather be safe than sorry. I've been having them on and off all weekend so maybe it will be within the next week. Here's hoping, right?! I think we've decided on Benjamin McCormick. Hubby said he's liking it more every day so that's probably what we're going to go with - I really like the name so I'm about 95% sure that's what it's going to be! Do you have any back-up names in case Nala doesn't end up sitting right with you?
