I just read your comment in the Chorionic Villi Sampling (CVS) forum. I’m truly sorry to hear about your test results. I’m lucky to have had normal tests results but it could have gone either way, so I’m counting my blessings. I can’t say I know how you feel, but there were moments when I really believed my baby had a genetic disorder, and it was excruciating. Please message me if you feel like chatting.

My blood tests came back with a 1/60 chance for sown syndrome. I think the cut off line is 250, and I was way below the cut off line, which is why they offered me the amnio. All my amniocentesis results showed up normal. I got the preliminary results in a few days but had to wait about 3 weeks for the final results.

I am so sorry to hear about your test results. My husband and I had to induce labor in March on our little boy. I was 22 weeks though. We found out he was not compatable with life for not having kidneys or a bladder. Ours was not chromosomal or genetic and the chances of that happening were 1 in a million. To answer your question there are a few ways that XXYY could happen. The egg could have been fertialized by 2 sperm, or the egg could have started to split into twins and then not split in the long run. My heart goes out to you and your family.
