Laura Ward - Sunday, 7 December Message to all: This message is not intended for any one person, but a general statement to all members of the site. After hearing what you all think in regards to posting photos on the forums, we have modified the rules and ask that everyone familiarize yourself so that the site continues to remain friendly for everyone, including new members. In an effort to be respectful of all members of the site, we ask that members do not post more than ONE photo or video per person in the weekly, monthly and information forums. Your ONE picture should be small in size as well. Any large photos will be deleted. You are welcome to post as many pictures as you would like in the photo books, which were created for the purpose of sharing and viewing photos. You may also post as many blogs as you would like with photos in them. We understand that many members enjoy posting and viewing pictures on the forums, but this is not where they belong. We must keep the pictures on the boards to a minimum so that the written comments can continued to be written and read. Otherwise, the numerous amounts of large pictures squash the messages and they become missed. We ask that this modification be respected, therefore any member that continues to post numerous pictures a day will be deleted from the site. Thank you all for helping us keep the site friendly and welcoming for all members.
efeltmeyer - Sunday, 7 December Hi, I let Logan sleep on his tummy. He sleeps through the whole night this way. It is wonderful. I just make sure that a fan is always on the keep the air circulating. To keep him from getting cold I just put him in a sleeper. People always say that you aren't supposed to let them sleep this way, but Logan refuses to sleep any other way. If he is on his back he will sleep only 20 minutes at most and then he is crying. Tummy sleeping has been the best thing for my little family. Good luck!!
becky-wheatman - Saturday, 6 December Sounds like little Juan is doing great!! Alex is cooing and laughing a lot too (sometimes I think he's really trying to talk to me). It's wonderful isn't it, watching them grow and develop? I can't wait for the day Alex holds his arms out to me for a cuddle. He had his shots on 27th November and coped really well. His temperature got quite high, but it didn't bother him. He just wanted to sleep! Unfortunately, I gave up on breastfeeding about 5 weeks ago. I seemed to be feeding constantly and started to feel like a milk machine rather than a mummy. Alex is thriving on formula though, so that makes me feel better about it. He's gaining about 1lb7oz every 2 weeks...he was 12lb8 when he had his shots so I reckon he'll weigh about the same a Juan now! He's just about to outgrow his 0-3 month clothes but his 3-6 are still a little too big. He's been regularly sleeping through the night for the last 3 weeks (like, 9 or 10 hours sleep - I'm so grateful!!) and is generally a very happy, healthy baby! Hope you have a wonderful first Christmas with your son x Are you on facebook? Add me if you are x
munchkinsmommie - Saturday, 6 December Saw your post about tummy sleeping. I only let Madison sleep on her tummy during naps when I am able to watch her. She sleeps more sound and longer. But I am too nervous to let her sleep through the night. Only on back or side then. She does move her head great when she is sleeping on her tummy but still too scared to do it at night. I am sure Jr can move his head great while sleeping on tummy since he has been picking his head up since birth.
How did Jr do with his shots at his doctor visit. Madison did well no reactions other than a little more sleepy.
MikeysGirls - Saturday, 6 December Thank you very much! Glad to know about the Avent.. and I have heard some good things before about Dr Browns! I may give them a try.. I'm nervous about this and it sucks! I'm going to try and see if they will work with me.. Maybe I can get them to work with me and I'll feed her right before they do the procedure and right after.. Oh I HOPE! I don't want to have to deal with the bottle..I mine as well start pumping though, rar, never hurts for an emergency! Are you pumping regularly at all to store just in case?

Dirk - Friday, 5 December Message to all: In the last 2 years you all posted 1.1 million photos to the site, and that needs a little maintenance. We are currently renaming all photos from the personal photobooks in order to speed up the site. Some, or all your photos may not show while we are working on the photobooks. You don't have to do anything. We hope to have all photos sorted in about 24 hours from now. You can upload new photos to your photobook while the computer is working on your other photos. Thanks for reading.

JackaMumma - Thursday, 4 December Hello! A few suggestions re immunisation shots / making it easier for bubs: 1. Emla Pads 2. Sucrose 3. Immunisation Clinic (if available)
EMLA PADS are a way of numbing the area the shot goes into, so the baby does not feel it. Here is an article on it: http://www.mumzone.com.au/media_vaccination_pain_emla.php ...the pads are available at pharmacies (well, they are in Australia, not sure about the rest of the world - but I would think they are). I believe they have been around a while, and are pretty strong - people use them before they have tattoos. I should say though, the pharmacy asked me to check with a doctor if it was ok to use on such a young baby, the immunisation clinic said its fine, they see them used for the 8 week shots often - so I got them. However, this morning I was browsing to send you some links and found the product statement: http://www.astrazeneca.ca/documents/ProductPortfolio/EMLA_CIL_en.pdf which says not to use on infant less than 3 months old unless approved by doctor. We used 2 pads, and got guidance from the nurses at the clinic on when and where to apply them. It seriously made it a relatively painless experience. Infact, Sam got more upset when I removed the pads (like a band aid coming off) - than when he had the shots. I'd seek advice from your doc beforehand on whether you should use them, and where / how long before the appointment.
We go to the children's hospital, where they have a IMMUNISATION CLINIC that is dedicated to giving kids their shots. The clinic is staffed by nurses, and all they do every day is immunise kids - so they were very well set up with toys and distractions according to age group, and they have great technique. They provided the SUCROSE, but I believe its available at pharmacies if you want to get it beforehand. Here is an article on using sucrose: http://www.my-first-baby.blogspot.com/2008/06/give-your-baby-sucrose-before.html ...we only used it during each of the shots, which seemed to do the trick. I hope this helps, good luck :)
