clairebearsmom - Thursday, 26 June
I never co-slept but I had Claire in a bassinet in my room until she outgrew it at 4 months. I give her a bath and nurse her.If she doesn't fall asleep then I will rock her to sleep and play a lullaby CD. When she is asleep I put her in her crib on her belly. ( she started rolling on her belly anyways when she slept) She has slept SO much better since she started sleeping on her belly. Maybe you could try that. She still wakes up once or twice during the night, but she has adjusted to the crib well. Does he take naps in his crib? If not, maybe start with that to get him used to the crib. He will get used to his crib. Hang in there!

Yep, our zoo is pretty big. I know that it rates up there with the San Diego Zoo so we had a lot of fun:) We were there from 9:30-1:30 and still didn't look at everything. I put the pictures up so you will have to take a look!!

tgal - Sunday, 22 June
That is too funny! We had a blast at the zoo too. I was surprised at how much Anna actually watched the animals. I figured she would get bored with it, but she had lots of fun. I will make sure to post pictures soon:) Hope all is going well!

Adorable! We are taking Anna to the zoo for the first time this weekend:) By the way, HOW do you get him to wear his sunglasses? The minute I put Anna's near her face she is grabbing at them!!

I know! It is sooooo cold and I hate it! I am the same...I hate really cold and really hot weather:) I think I would like to move further south where it is definitely warmer but all of my family is here and that is really nice when it comes to needing babysitters, etc. My sister is moving to Santa Monica. She went to school to be an interior designer and did an internship in LA this last summer. She loved it and the place she did her internship with offered her a job so she had to go back. Do you love living in CA? Or is that where you are from? I guess I don't know where San Luis Obispo is!!!

tgal - Saturday, 26 April
I actually live in Omaha, Nebraska so I am very ready for some warm weather:) It is the same way here. Friday it was 40 (YUCK!), but it is supposed to be in the 70s a couple days next week. I just want 80s everyday. Is that too much to ask..ha! My sister is moving to California in May so I am looking forward to visiting her when it is really cold here and really nice there!

I'm with Terah!! Pregnancy sure didn't hurt you one bit! You look great and your little boy gets cuter every time I see him:) Anna LOVES her baths too...have you taken him in a pool yet? I am so excited to see how she does in the pool this summer. If only it would hurry up and get here!!!

i know exactly what you mean about your memory...i swear during pregnancy your brain slowly deteriorates and then once they are born totally breaks down! my son chews on his pacifier more now than he used to, a lot of times i have to multicoordinate holding the pacifier in his mouth while rocking him in my arms and patting his bottom lol oooh the joys of being a mom!!!

brittany04 - Monday, 21 April
My advice about trying to get the baby to sleep on his own is buy several different pacifiers... and try him on each one each night when he wakes to get a suckle just to go back to sleep. Try to find one that is most like the breast =) good Luck

shelly32 - Monday, 21 April
what kind is it? My son only really likes one kind. They gave it to us in the hospital and i ordered more online. They are called gumdrop pacifiers, the "soohies" they sell in the grocery store are similar but don't stay in as easily. I know how you feel about sleeping together...i sometimes still nap with my son or sometimes he'll get up at 4am and wont go back to sleep unless i lay with me. I dont see it as a big deal since he obviously wants to snuggle (which i do too) but we try to keep in his own bed at nite...i'm afraid he'll roll out of ours now that he moves so much and we only have a queen. Also something else that might work for you....at nite whatever shirt you have been wearing all that day place in the crib somewhere..i have a stuffed panda bear that I put it on and that seems to help too...try wearing a certain perfume each day so he gets used to it.

I just wanted to stop by and say good luck with your little ones transition to the crib.. I must admit, this is one of the reasons why I did not sleep with my daughter.. How tempting it was, but I did not want to go through what your going through.. I've been blessed, she's been able to sleep in her crib all night since she was 2 1/2 months old.. Good luck..

excitedmama - Sunday, 20 April
I read your post about sleeping and I must admit that I haven't had that trouble, but Gabe has a routine and I follow it every night. I put him in bed iwth his blanket and his plug-- he only takes a paci for a few minutes-- and then leave the room. When he starts to fuss I go in and tell him goodnight without picking him up. Fix his blanket, and give him his paci again. It may take 4-5 times of doing this, but when we first started him sleeping in his crib, it was a little difficult. It took real dedication and he finally caught on. I wish you all the luck in the world:)

mrstranum - Sunday, 20 April
Let me start by saying your son is too cute!!! OMG! But as a reply to your post in 6 months...as my pedi told me and i read in alot of books the only way to break them is to let them cry it out. Also to help them start sleeping through the nite when they start crying for mid-night snack is to just rock them or pat them back to sleep. Bryanna slept with us for almost 3 months straight and we tried a lot of time to break her of it. One day she just grew out if it. Now she won't even sleep with us. One thing that worked for us was a swing...she slept in her swing for almost a month. I wish you all the luck cause i'm sure it's gonna be really hard either way, but you'll find what works for you. If you don't feel comfortable letting him cry it out, just let that little bean sleep with you :) Bryanna grew out, hopefully he still will too. GOOD LUCK!

has ur son figured out how to push the turtles tail down? it's very hard tp do...mine still cant and he gets so frustrated!

shelly32 - Saturday, 19 April
I was just reading your message and my son was the same way (well still sort of is) he is breastfeed and prefers to fall asleep with the 'ol boob in his mouth....It got to the point where he started waking up a lot in the middle of the nite and crying so we decided to put him in his crib in te room next door. He has never slept on his back from the time he was born for more than maybe 20 minutes, he either had to be help or sleeping on his side next to me to sleep. We make sure he has been up for at least 3 hours so he is good and tired, and we have a routine where we give him a bath, feed him and put him to bed. we put him on his belly (tsk tsk yes i know but he can roll both ways anyhow-this is the ONLY way he sleeps) and he goes right to bed, he does not cry like he did when we put him on his back - i couldnt do the cry it out either. He still wakes up to be fed which i think he just wants to be held so i feed him and once he falls asleep and is still sucking i slip thepacifier inthe corner of his mouth and pull the breast out at the same time and he stays sleeping, i lay him back on his belly and pat his bottom to make sure he stays asleep. Patting the bottom is very important to put him to sleep, he can not yet fall asleep on his own but despite what the Dr.s say i know he will figure it out on his owning and crying is unnecessary! If he wakes up and doesnt need fed sometimes just a few pats does it. i dont know how you feel about belly sleeping but i figure they are old enough that they would wake up if they couldnt breathe right and my parents had me sleeping on my belly asi'm sure yours probably did as well!

Each cube is about 1 oz of baby food. I like to give him a variety at each meal so I normally only heat up 1-2 cubes. For 1 frozen cube I heat it in the microwave for 15 seconds, then mash it down and heat it for another 10 seconds. Makes it perfect temp for him.

Bandit actually is 3 today LOL I never even realized. He loves the baby but when Aidan grabs his toes Bandit runs away I think he is afraid he will hurt him. When the dog goes near Aidan he laughs his head off its so cute. Bandit is great with AIDAN and I as well never knew how he would be and I LOVE my dog so I was afraid. People give me a hard time as well having a pit bull but oh well. They are actually banned here in Ontario (I live in Canada) but I had Bandit before the ban came in. He has to be muzzled and neutered it sucks. It makes them look mean when they are muzzled in public. I posted a picture of him on here. Hey if you have facebook I can add you and you can see more pics on there.

Terah - Monday, 14 April
I get the organic foods. I've only made sweet potatoes, but it's really easy. Just bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour. Put in food processor w/breastmilk, formula or water to thin it out. Dish it out in icecube trays and cover with plastic wrap. After a few hours transfer the cubes to a freezer bag and date it. It's good for 1 month. He LOVES them! Bananas and avacado don't require any cooking, but mash real good and eat! Let me know if you try it. I just do sweet potatoes because that's his very favorite food. Fresh/frozen is always better for you than canned, so I thought I'd try a cheaper and healthier way.

Goesonbaby - Monday, 14 April
Is he a pitt bull? I have one and Aidan just loves him as does bandit (the dog) love Aidan
